Zero grunted as he was poked awake the girl poking at him.
'Uh, hello? Mr. dragon? I'm hungry and I can't eat the raw fish if you thought so!' she looked back at the barrel of fish.
This question woke him, it was now evening. And he needed a solution to that problem. either I head to the dragons at night to try and convince them to cook it or meet the riders head on and cook it right Infront of them. Yeah, no, I hope the dragons say yes. Welp...Charades time!
Zero got her attention and sat up while sitting and looking around.
'Sit?' she guessed.
Zero shook his head
'Look?'
He shook his head
'Might seem absurd but...Wait?'
He nodded quickly while saying the word for 'wait' in dragon language repeatedly. He lied down then pointed to the sky while saying 'Night'
'Oh, Night? Wait night? I guess I could wait till night...But I might get sleepy... Oh and I found a puppy and it was pink, and had no fur, and was hard, but it was very fun to play with! Is that your power? Making very hard, pink, puppies?'
Zero giggled and shook his head and demonstrated with his pink amber and showed it how it could move and be hard or soft or liquid. And she watched with awe.
'That's so cool! I want to be a dragon too! Maybe I could even speak or understand dragon' She stood up and jumped around cheerfully. Wait what is her name? I should have asked her! He tapped her to get her attention, well, more of a boop with his snout. He pointed to her and said the word name multiple times.
' Me? No... She...! No, I haven't told you my name or you tell yours. That's what you mean!' She anticipated for my reply and cheered when he nodded. 'Well, my name is Hazel! What's yours?'
He growled 'Hazel' and pointed at her to associate her with it, but it took some tries to get her to realize he wasn't trying to confirm.
How am I... Oh, I can just do simple math! He spat two amber balls at the ground, making it like a rubber ball.
'Two...? Amber? Um...Rose?' Hazel asked with an unsure face. He shook his head and removed all the balls.
'None? Empty? Zero-?' He nodded intensely at when she said 'Zero'. He kept saying the word 'Zero while pointing at him.
'Yes!'

Hazel now knew all the basic dragon greetings and some other words, like, hi, hello, Goodmorning, Hazel, 0 to 10, how are you, who, Sleepy, stay, when, see, are, I, she, he, him, her and a little more by the time it was night. Zero basically panicked when he learnt it was already night and hoped he hadn't stayed to long and repeatedly told Hazel to stay while he went off. He had a torch, so Hazel could see properly at night and so he could cook Hazel's fish, in his tail. Linking out of the den, he took to the sky towards the edge's stables. He looked up briefly to see what time it was. Almost midnight? Geuss I can work with that.
He landed in front of the stables, somehow it was open. I swear I get too lucky sometimes. He slowly went inside and Garff this time was asleep.
Wait, I'm stupid! They all stay with their dragons...Well my best but worst bet is toothless...He's probably most likely to light the torch but if Hiccup wakes up, I'm most likely screwed...Well, I'll just take the risk. He took to the skies.
Zero approached a house that had a purple and red roof with a bunch of machinery. That's the one... He carefully landed on the deck, making sure to not wake anyone. Wait, if I surprise toothless to make him blast my torch...It will hurt and for sure wake hiccup but if it means less socializing with strangers, I don't care. Peeking in to see if anyone was awake, he saw nobody...Oh no, no, no! They must have found out and... A trap.
Toothless dropped down from the ceiling with Hiccup, Zero was startled. He spat amber at them and hardened it, but toothless shot right through. He flew out, trying to lose them. Looking behind him they were still there... He quickly grabbed his torch from his tail using his mouth and did a sharp turn. Like expect toothless tried too blook it by blasting plasma at a nearby rock but the torch was lit instead. Haha! That's what happens when you watch the series 4 times! He did lots of turns hoping to not extinguish the fire. When he looked behind him, they were gone. I couldn't have lost them that easily...Just in case I'll block out the cave expect some holes so we can breathe, and CO2 can escape.
Zero quickly dashed towards the cave of his feet. Making sure to block the entrance while entering.
'What's wrong you seem rushed? And why'd did you block the entrance?' Hazel walked to him, clenching her stomach as it growled. 'Never mind that...I built a campfire so you can light it on fire and then I can cook the fish!' She raced over to some long cluttered in place with a bunch of dried leaves. Geez Hazel's parent must have only how to do it and not properly...But it will work.
Zero walked over to her and waited for her to back up before lighting the campfire with the torch and lighting it. The flame was small at first but started to grow. He put the torch on the ground and stamped on it, extinguishing it. He spat some amber on his front legs and turned it clay-like, molding it into a torch holder and placed it one the wall, hardening it. He placed the end of the torch into the fire to light and put it in the torch holder. When Zero turned to Hazel, she was already putting the fish over the fire with a stick. Wow...Must have been real hungry...Well, I guess I'll eat too. Waltzing over to the fish barrel, he grabbed 3 fish using his teeth and ate them all.
'It's gonna be...' She yawned 'Morning soon, so once I eat this, I'll go to sleep.' Hazel stood over her almost ready fish.
'I'll sleep too' Zero thought out loud, going over to the nest.
