Chapter # 23

I was on top of a building. The building had an illegal slave shop set up in the basement. Illegal slave shops mostly contain victims who were either kidnapped or sold. Aana was sold here and I must get her before anybody can get their dirty hands on her. The system window appeared with quests,

Choose one of the following quests;

1. Buy Aana out.

Reward: One legendary rank talent

2. Raid the whole shop.

Reward; One random rank talent

I was about to choose the 1 quest when suddenly I noticed that the rewards of this quest were better? Which means that if I choose the 2 quest, it will deeply affect the future. But will it affect it in a good way, or the bad way?

I used shadow snare and decided to inspect the slaves. I noticed Aana, who was crying in one of the cells. My heart sank. But I didn't had much time left so I decided to check the identities of the rest of the slaves using the skill of eyes of providence. Then the person I saw in one of the cells shocked me.

After seeing the person, I quickly chose the second option and exited the building. Then I entered the building as a customer. A fat man approached me and welcomed me. He said, "Welcome customer, what may be of your interest?". I strolled around and approached one of the cells.

In the cell, there was an elf girl, about 13 years old who was crying while holding her legs. This was the person that shocked me. Actually, this girl name is Sophia, who is the princess of the Cryme empire, the western empire which was ruled by elves.

In my past life, when I turned 18, the whole Cryme empire was already under the rule of the royal empire as their heirs were either dead or had gone missing. Without any heirs, the elves had no choice but to submit to the king.

Why was I doing this? Either to save the elves race or to stop the royal empire from gaining power. You can consider the one that suits your taste. The fat man hit a baton at the cells. He said, "Hey brat! A customer has come. Come and greet him".

The girl didn't budge. But then the man got annoyed and took out a remote and pressed a button. Electrical shocks surrounded the elf and she started to scream in pain. I stopped the man, and the man clicked his tongue.

The girl then slowly approached the entrance while dragging her body as it was not moving due to the shock. This scene strongly reminded me of Aana in the past life. My blood boiled and I wanted to stab a dagger in the man's throat. When she reached the entrance, she tried to stand up but failed.

I crouched down and moved my hand towards her. She slowly reached out her hand and grabbed my hand. I politely asked her, "What's your name miss?". She muttered, "S- Sophia". I commented, "What a beautiful name. So miss Sophia, would you like to go with me?".

She nodded her head as she was impressed by my kindness. I asked the man, "So, how much for her?". The man made a greedy expression and while rubbing his hands said, "Well my dear customer, as you know that elves are really hard to get. But since this is your first purchase from here, I will give you a discount. How about 20 gold coins?"

I put a shocked expression on my face and said, "20?! That's too much! Well Miss Sophia, it looks like that I don't have that kind of money to become your master". I let go of her hand and went in the direction of Aana's cage.

Sophia was disappointed and with a worried expression tried to call out to me but the man hit a baton at the cage and she retreated back. Then she noticed that there was a piece of paper in her hand that I grabbed. She opened the piece of paper and in it was written,

"Close your eyes and cover your ears princess".

When she noticed the word princess, a small tear of joy appeared in her eyes and she followed the instruction. Why did I told her to do that? Well, I heard an interesting story in my past life. That one day, the mansion of the cryme empire was attacked. And when the princess saw the bloodshed, she fainted and fell in coma for a whole month.

I don't know weather this information is accurate or not, but I don't want any chances so that's why I gave her the warning. Now my heart was beating really fast as I was approaching Aana's cage. She was also in the same position as Sophia, crying. Just like everyone in this hell of a place.

The fat man called out to her but she didn't respond. He took out the remote and was about press the button, when finally, I had enough and got triggered. I unsheathed my daggers and I cut down his hands.
