Huh, I guess I finally died, if all those Fanfiction's I read were anything to go by.
Of course, they never tell you that dying really hurts.
I've read about many pre-isekai protagonists dying, from the instantaneous to the macabre.
I have to say, a Rogue AI using a self driving car is new to me. It would have been fine if It had hit me once and been done with it. I guess one thing the AI learned back home is that humans are cruel, because it didn't stop after hitting me.
Back. Forth. Back. Forth. Fucker was trying to empty me like a tub of toothpaste, angling the car to ruin my ankles first, then moving up my body with slow, precise movements.
I felt it all. Not that I can remember it. My brain, or whatever handles my memory after death, must have decided the memory was too traumatic, and while I can remember the scene vividly, it's like an out of body experience. I see it happening, but can't remember the pain that should be there.
I've rambled long enough, surely this isn't one of those stories where the protagonist is stuck in the void for thousands of years… right?
…
…
About five seconds later.
"Well fu-"
[Welcome To The World-Power Randomizer! As you are a Premium User, you have the ability to select one of your three wheels, which will give you free choice in that wheels selection! Have Fun Randomizing!] A Siri-like voice spoke.
"Okay… What is a premium user?" I ask.
[A Premium User is a user selected by a benefactor, this is only temporary, however, as benefactors are only allowed to grant premium access for one incarnation!]
A benefactor? Well, it can't be anyone I know, since I'm dead, and I doubt anyone on earth knows about this.. Randomizer thing. A god then? I never really put much thought into if they existed. Eh, I'll think more about it if I ever return to Earth.
"What Wheels are there? One selects what world I go to, one for what power I get? What's the third?"
[The Wheels are as follows: The World Wheel, The Wheel Of Power, and The Wheel Of Fate. You have correctly guessed the purpose of the first two, care to guess the third? Bonus points if you care to guess who your benefactor is~]
Man this voice is really starting to sound more human the more I interact with it.
"Wheel of Fate. Maybe it's what I'm supposed to do? Or who I'm meant to become?" I answer
[Close~ Are you giving up?]
"I- do I get anything for getting it right?" I ask, maybe I can get something out of this?
[Bonus points, obviously.]
"Okay, and what can I do with bonus points?"
[…]
"I give up then."
[You're no fun. The Wheel of Fate determines who you will be in your new life.]
"Okay, I guess I want to be able to choose my power then, since going into a new world with the worst possible power would be annoying."
[Understood, Spinning World Wheel.]
The wheel appeared before me, and there were only four options. Game Of Thrones/A Song Of Ice And Fire, The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter, Teen Wolf, And Grimm. I've seen all of these shows, does it select things based on my memories? Moreover, I've seen way more shows than this, so why aren't the others showing up?
The Wheel continued spinning.
"Why is there only four options on the wheel?" I asked.
[Your Soul Power is too low. Worlds outside of those shown are too dangerous, either to your soul, or to you yourself. You're supposed to entertain- I mean live long lives. You can't do that if you're Dead Upon Delivery.]
Did she just- never mind, the wheel is slowing down.
[GOT/ASOIAF, sounds like you'll have quite the fighting chance, no matter your insertion.]
"Isn't this one of the worse outcomes?" I didn't understand her logic.
[Imagine being Jackson in Teen Wolf, without the Kanima abilities. Or Hank Griffin in Grimm. Or Gillan Stardia. In GOT there are no characters physically stronger than the mountain, and he can be taken down with sufficient skill, especially with a spear and it's longer reach. Even the Night King is a normal enemy if you have Valyrian Steel.]
Well, I suppose you have a point there, the other series have enemies that might not fall to a single strike, no matter how bad my luck in the Fate wheel, I should be fine if I pick a strong power.
"Alright bring out the Power Wheel." I say as the World Wheel disappears.
"…" I guess I should've expected this.
"True Alpha."
"Create, Edit, Bestow, LP Conversion"
"Grimm Or Other Wesen Ability"
"Dragon Bond & Fire Immunity"
It's pretty obvious that one of these is far more versatile than the others. I'm taking Olivia Servants abilities with me to Westeros.. or Essos, whatever, Planetos.
I select it and the wheel disappears, just like the World Wheel.
[Now spinning the Wheel of Fate.]
This wheel seemed to have the most options. I guess that makes sense. Even if I'm some no named commoner though, with my powers I should be able to do quite a bit, well, if I live to adulthood.
Now might be a good time to think about long term goals. Number 1: Retain my status as a Premium User. I can only do that if some god decides to sponsor me, so now would be a good time to remember some of the gods in Planetos… we have Vezhof, the Dothraki god, the Old Gods, The Seven, The Drowned God, R'hllor aka The Lord Of Light, The Many-Faced-God, and that line about a fertility goddess with sixteen tits, but I don't think her name was ever mentioned.
Of them, it's pretty certain that R'hllor exists in some form. The Drowned God too, considering both are known for bringing back their followers, R'hllor from any death, and the Drowned God from well, drowning.
Of the two, I would rather follow R'hllor. He seems the safest bet. Plus it makes getting Kinvara and Melisandre easier, so that's a bonus.
The Wheel slowed down.
"Is it just me or has this wheel been spinning the longest?" I muttered.
[It's just you.]
"That was rhetorical."
The Wheel finally landed. Of all the options, from Jon Snow to Joffrey Boratheon, from Tommen to Theon Greyjoy, Renly or Rheagar, to Roberts trueborn or Viserys Targaryen, Khal Drogo or another Dothraki, even Loras Tyrell. Even options like 'Son of Jorah Mormont', 'son of Daenerys Targaryen', and 'Kings Landing Orphan' existed.
With all of my Wheel's spun, the only thing left to do is fall asleep, and wait to fall into my new body.

So who do you think our Mc will be? Whoever you guess, it has a chance to be true, as I haven't quite decided yet!
You may have noticed that outside of his death, nothing of mc's life has been shown. Thats because it doesn't really matter, but also because mc views all his past memories with the same dissociation he did his death. He can remember it all, but it's an out of body experience, like he wasn't the one doing it. This will probably never come up in the story but I thought it was worth mentioning for the 1 person who might wonder about it.
