Ch.7: The Passing Of An Legacy.

"I came here to thank you. And to tell you that the bravery you showed earlier will never go unnoticed." A cloud of smoke then went up, only to reveal a stick figure of a man in a white shirt and kacie pants a few seconds later.

'What the..?! That's...wait, this is all might?!' All might waited for a reaction but only got a blank face. 'This kid...he's never surprised..' All might sighed then began to tell him a huge secret while revealing a scar.

He told him that the power he had was meant for protecting people and he got this scar from doing just that. "You, a regular citizen, stepped up and rushed in to save your friend. You knew how strong that villian was and yet, you stepped up. That...that requires a strong heart, kid.."

Izuku started panting. "What were your thoughts in that moment? Did you think about how you were going to save him or did..."

"Your body move on it's own?"

Izuku finished his sentence which caused all might to smile. "No.." Izuku remembered his exact thoughts in that moment. "All might...I thought about you. How the sludge villain managed to escape from the number one hero. How my friend could have died because of you!"

Izuku began crying with all might putting his head down. "No heroes...no law enforcement's, no nobody..." He bit his lips which caused him to bleed a bit. "What..if he would have died..? That...was what motivated me to try and save him. Because of you people, Heroes, I had to put my life on the line, something that you people should have done instead of me.."

All might bawled his hand into a fist, realizing the mistake he and his fellow heroes made. "Kid, I'm sorry. I...have no excuse for the things that happened. I, the heroes, are the only ones to blame for this.." Izuku kept crying which lead all might to continue.

"And that's why, I'll need someone like you.." Izuku headed his words but never said anything. "This power, One For All, is a symbol of all things right. Though with this injury, the symbol of peace is slowly dying out and I need a successor. From what I've heard, you...don't have a heroic heart. But from what you've told me, I can see that you value protection over loved ones. Izuku Midoriya, will you step up to the plate, accept this power and protect the ones you love? And maybe then...can you truly see the value of being a hero."

Izuku took in all the information all might presented while taking a long sniff. 'If...if I'm able to get the power of all might,..then I'll be able to protect those dear to me..' He then went towards the disadvantages. 'But if I really do take this power, then it'll go against what I think. That risking your life for strangers is stupid..'

He thought back to the feeling of anger, sadness and anxiousness he had when seeing bakugo being engulfed in smudge. 'The fear and terror I had then was something...that people shouldn't experience. That is what all might does. He shows people that whenever they are in danger, him and the heroes will always be there to help them. But, they aren't always there. Its time for me to...'

Izuku stopped hyperventilating and got up. "All might.." He dragged out, "I'm no hero. I only aspire to be one to protect the ones I hold dear. You understand that, right.." All might nodded, seeing how serious the boy in front of him was.

"And that's why, I'll do it. I'll protect people who have these same feelings as me." He never considered himself a hero, but he had the ideas that rivaled one. He was someone who couldn't care less for the people around him in his previous life, but now, he had something to fight for.

Family And Friends.

"Then Izuku Midoriya, please accept this power. A Symbol, Peace, And Justice!" All might put his right hand out and had his fingers stretching upwards, pointing to the sky. In his hand was a strand of hair.

"You would usually need to train your body for this power at first, but seeing how you're already built well is fine. You can inherit my power right here and already start your journey to become a hero."

Izuku didn't ask any questions and took the hair, eating it in the process. All might didn't tell him to eat it which confused him for a moment but he soon just shrugged it off.

'This kid...I hope I made the right choice. He's someone who values what his heart thinks. That's good and I'll never ask anyone to change that. Because what your heart thinks...that's what makes a person..'

Arriving in a hospital room for patients, Izuku sat down in a chair next to bakugo. "Are you fine?" He asked while taking the clipboard off the wall and reading over it. "Of course I'm fine! Something like that wouldn't bother me!"

He screamed in his ear, causing Izuku to smile slightly. The two then caught up a bit with bakugo telling him what happened at the police station and saying he vouched for Izuku which lead them to..

"Being able to train harder...isn't your quirk, is it?" Izuku sighed and nodded. "I..have the power of multiple quirks. Listen, I..I never wanted to tell you this to be honest-"

Bakugo smiled and placed his hand on Izuku's head. "Thank goodness.." He laughed a bit, "I sort of liked being your protector but after today, I realized that you can probably protect yourself. Having multiple quirks means multiple ways of helping yourself.."

Izuku wasn't expecting this answer. 'I thought his pride would overcome his own thoughts, leading him to be mad. He's..happy though..?' He removed his hand, laid back and sighed. "Man, this is...cool. Now we can really rule the world together, huh?" Izuku stared blankly at him, laughter soon bursting out.

"Yeah,..let's take over the world.." They fist bumped, giving each other warm smiles. Bakugo took this so easily as he always new Izuku was special in some way.

The way he was strong and could beat him and other people up with quirks. The way he developed a quirk at 10 years old. It was something you'd never see in a lifetime.

'And that's why he's my best friend. He was there since day one where he helped me out that river and he'll be here when we both become great heroes..' Bakugo smiled while thinking of the future ahead of them.
