Truck-Kun Fails.

"But Miss Kobayashiiii" Tohru whined. "No buts, he is replacing you as our head chef. Honestly you could learn a thing or too from him." Tohru glared at me. I left to reheat my omelet which had gotten pretty cold. After I took it off the stove once more a panel popped up in front of me once more.

"New skill acquired - Cooking"

"Well that's nifty…" Ian said, sitting back down at the table that had erupted in yelling. The yelling ceased when a news broadcast that sounded louder than normal, clicked on the TV. "As many of you may have seen, there have been multiple proven reports of humans falling from the sky. Most did not sustain any type of severe injuries and on top of that none have any kind of identification." The newscaster took a small break and looked intently at the teleprompter that was behind the camera. "Most if not all have told police they are from a different world. They are actively being tested for foreign substances and investigators are scrambling to get to the bottom of it.". Those god damn idiots… Ian thought as everyone at the table stopped to look at him. "Well that could be a lead…" Ian said, trying to divert attention away from himself. "Well maybe we can investigate that after I come back from work." Kobayashi said, grabbing a hand bag and walking over to the door.

"Dexterity Lv. Up!"

Yeah yeah I get it. Ian said to himself. The door clicked behind Kobayashi an Ian got mentally prepared for the bombardment of insults he was about to receive from Tohru, but none came. Instead she muttered, "Can you please teach me how to cook…" Ian giggled which certainly pissed her off but in the end Ian agreed to assist her, clearly her intentions were pure.

Kobayashi got to work 5 minutes before her shift started like normal. She took a seat at her chair next to Takiya who immediately noticed something was wrong. "What's going on?" Takiya asked, pausing his work to turn and talk to her. "Well you know all those cases of people randomly falling from the sky for no reason?" Kobayashi said, taking off her coat. "Yeah… The ones that are convinced they are from another world right?" "Well, I don't know about all of them but… One of them is staying at my house currently. He's a foreigner, his name is Ian." Takiya peeked over his computer to see Elma eavesdropping. "Do you have an opinion on this Elma?" Takiya said while chuckling. She looked a bit surprised he had noticed her. "Well actually I do. I ran into one of those people yesterday. Everyone thinks they are insane but I actually sensed magical energy that was off the charts. Enough to go toe to toe with Tohru." Elma paused and looked at the ground. "There's certainly more to them than meets the eye but I can't be sure of anything.". Kobayashi looked down at her keyboard. Who was that boy really? She asked herself this all day but never came to a decisive answer.

Meanwhile Tohru was being taught how to cook the omelets from this morning while Ian practiced his shape water skill in the room over, popping his head out to give tips every so often. By the end of it Ian had gotten his shape water skill up to Lv. 3 and could now make basic shapes with pretty large amounts of water. And Tohru could cook a killer omelet. Ian wanted to use his Investigate skill as much as humanly possible so he stuck his finger in the omelet pretending to be testing it, he then closed his eyes and thought of using investigate.

"Omelet, Quality: Excellent. Made by: Tohru"

Ian stuck his finger out and plopped it into his mouth, delighted by how good it was as Tohru stood there in anticipation for his opinion. "It's fantastic Tohru!" Tohru took a sigh of relief before smiling. "I'm glad you like it." Ian laughed "I'm not really a food critic but I'm glad Miss Kobayashi liked my food, she seems like a really good person. "You have no idea," Tohru giggled. "Oh I think I do" Ian said while Tohru gave him a confused expression. "I know her better than you might think…" Tohru shrugged it off but that sentence remained in her mind for a while after, what did he mean by that? When Kobayashi came home she quickly exchanged hellos with Ian who was sitting at the couch watching more news broadcasts about the events yesterday. "Why hello Miss Kobayash-" Kobayashi cut Tohru off by grabbing her arm and dragging her into her room. "Hey Tohru, can you sense the magical energy people emit?" Tohru looked at her confused. "Well of course I can, even Kanna can do that." Tohru said, raising a finger. "Is there anything weird about Ian?" "Well now that you mention it, his magical energy has risen dramatically since I first met him, I didn't want to mention it because I figured it could just be someone else, maybe Kanna who i've been encouraging to train…" Tohru paused to make sure Ian wasn't listening. "But after Kanna left for school I noticed that the aura was still there, you think he could be a mage?" Kabayashi sighed. "I don't know yet, something suspicious about all these people just randomly showing up out of nowhere."

Ian went back to his room and swiped on his wrist to open his stat page. He had 2 skill points and he put them both into the constitution. Looking at his stats he noticed his health was now 34, which made him kinda upset. It wasn't a multiple of 5 but that's alright. Ian exited his room and went over to Tohru who was preparing for a meal. "I saw hamburger meat in the fridge, made some patties Kobyashi loves," Ian whispered to Tohru. She nodded, confused at how he would know this.

Just as Tohru was about to start she noticed they don't have any salt left. "I can go run to the store and get some-" Tohru started but Ian cut her off. "I've been housebound all day. I can go grab some. "Here's 150 yen Kobyashi said, dropping the yen into Ian's hand." "Just for salt?" Kobayashi laughed. "This isn't America, remember that." Ian nodded and then asked if he could borrow Kobayashi's phone for directions in which she happily obliged. Once Ian had closed the door Tohru started screaming. "Why are you so trusting of this guy! Didn't we just discuss why he's almost certainly bad news?" Kobayashi just rolled her eyes and turned on the TV. "Gotta learn to trust people more than you want to Tohru." "Humans are so weird…" Tohru muttered whilst taking off her sleeves and molding the steak in patties.

Ian approached the convenience store and walked through the doors. He exited not long later with a box of salt and about 29 yen in change, he didn't know how much that was so he planned to give it back to kobayashi. As Ian was about to walk home he noticed Kanna and Saikawa walking across the street while talking to each other, a truck heading right in their direction. Holy shit what do I do? Ian said whilst yelling at them to no avail, it was clear they wouldn't notice him or the truck in time. Ian saw a nearby lake and a lightbulb ignited above his head. He knew Kanna could survive it but her very human friend would not. Ian thought as he grabbed a large chunk of water and shaping it into a ramp like triangle shape. "Truck-Kun you sly bastard!" He screamed as he placed it on the road directly in front of the truck that was honking desperately. The truck drove into the water and it immediately came to a stop. Ian let go of his hold on the water, exhausted from such a huge task. Kanna and her friend now looked over to see the truck covered in water. Saikawa hadn't even seen what happened but Kanna turned around to face me and gave me a thumbs up. Which I hope meant, "Your secret is safe with me". As Ian followed closely behind the two girls to make sure something like that didnt happen again. He also didn't know his way back and he was sure Kanna did.

Little did Ian know… Someone was watching and recording from the shadows and might be threatening his chance at a cozy lifestyle.
