Eligibility test for the Academy!

"Soul essence can be harnessed or absorbed in two ways; either one can absorb Soul essence naturally through the process of Soul essence filtration."

A woman wearing a maid uniform, with auburn hair and emerald eyes, stood in the courtyard, explaining something to a boy with purple hair and amethyst eyes, looking no more than eight years old.

The boy nodded, giving her confirmation to speak further.

"Soul essence infiltration is a technique used by people since birth; although it doesn't take much of your focus, it is heavily disadvantageous."

The maid continued, showing him a drawing for better understanding, which was drawn well enough for him to comprehend.

"It can be affected by the place you are in; especially areas with highly dense Soul essence distribution wouldn't affect you a lot since you are accustomed to it.

But if you went to an area with rarer distribution of Soul essence after spending many years in the clan or for a while..."

She exclaimed, creating a sphere of Soul essence around Zuke, then another beside him.

"See. Now that you shifted from denser to rarer concentration, your Soul essence began to fluctuate."

The boy didn't say anything as he watched his arm getting coated and uncoated with a white-colored layer.

Removing the sphere with a snap of her fingers, she pursed her lips.

"You use this technique for normal objectives like weightlifting, blood flow, using Soul essence techniques, but not continuously and reinforcing your limbs with it unconsciously."

Locking her eyes with the boy, she sighed and spoke.

"...The amount of Soul essence that enters your body while inhaling is considerably very low, and to add on top of it, your Soul core can only handle an average amount of Soul essence."

"So... what is the other method?" Zuke inquired, his eyes gleaming in anticipation.

"Even if I taught you about that method, you won't be able to use it.

Because in that method, a specific proportion of Soul essence needs to be released, which, unluckily, if released by you, would leave you incapable of even running or fighting properly."

Momentarily, a frown appeared on his face as he spoke.

"I won't use it... just tell me how it works."

She paused, pulling out her phone, the screen glowing in her hands as she glanced at it before answering.

"Hello."

Right after the greetings, the one on the other side of the call spoke for what seemed like a minute.

Only the other person was speaking; Mira only affirmed and nodded.

But Zuke already guessed who the person could be and what he or she could be explaining.

CUT.

Mira cut off the call and walked toward his room after speaking.

"Young Master Zuke, you have to go to the main training courtyard."

Unlike before, Zuke questioned her in an authoritative tone.

"Why?"

"It's for your eligibility test to enter the academy."

She replied while showing him a picture of a building on her phone.

Zuke didn't say anything after and proceeded to head towards the training courtyard.

It's been one month since the day Eldyai came to his room.

On that day, after Mira told everything to Elysia, she was told in a 'very' good way by her to treat Zuke like she treated other heirs.

And naturally, she began to add honorifics while talking to Zuke and doing everything he asked for, one of which was teaching him how to manifest or control Soul essence in the past month.

As all of you may know, from tomorrow the eligibility test for you to enter the academy will be held..."

He paused for a moment, letting his words sink in the air before speaking again.

"It is to decide whether you are capable enough to attend the academy or not... It would be a surprise, so any information won't be shared with you till tomorrow regarding the test."

He stopped speaking, expecting anyone to ask a question or two.

Zuke raised his hand, but he totally ignored him as if he couldn't even see him.

Then after a moment, Kris, the eldest of them all, raised his hand before speaking.

"Elder, are we allowed to use potions and tools in the upcoming test?"

"Yes, but you would be given a space ring... it has a storage capacity, so you would only be able to carry a limited number of items with you."

Just as the elder finished explaining, Devisha raised her hand, receiving the elder's signal, and she spoke.

"Elder, even this useless piece of shit is participating in the test?"
