Chapter 4

The group continued their journey again after they finished restocking their needs at the village.

When they get out from the village. Yamcha spread out his sense like usual but now he found something under their car.

After he stopped the car and look at it, he take it off and threw it far away.

Yamcha do it without thinking too much and just do it.

"What is that thing you throw so far away ?" Asked Bulma.

"Nahh, It just a bomb." Said Yamcha normally.

"A bomb!?" Bulma shocked.

"Yeah someone plant it under our car just when we were busy buying our needs at previous village." explain Yamcha.

At someplace a little bit away from Yamcha and group.

"Plan A is failed, executing plan B." A girl with long black hair talked to someone through phone.

"Roger that." On the other side of the phone is a male humanoid dog, he jumped inside a robot and then fly to Yamcha and the group.

Yamcha keep driving the car like usual. "Goku, there are enemies coming."

Seeing a robot flying right to them, Goku run ahead to fight it.

'It really is Mai and Shu. Pilaf's two underlings.' Thought Yamcha.

In the canon story, these two succeed in stealing dragon balls from Bulma. Now there is Yamcha who foiling their plan, their plan B is to make Shu the dog to fight and distract them while Mai try to sneak and steal the dragon ball.

But never they thought that just Goku alone manage to beat Shu who is inside a robot and Yamcha with the rest just drive pass them like it is not their business giving Mai no chance to steal the dragon ball.

With Yamcha giving Son Goku the heavy turtle shell from Master Roshi and order Son Goku to follow them only by running or swimming, Son Goku is no doubt get stronger than the canon story.

After beating up the robot, Son Goku ran after Yamcha and group.

Mai and Shu seeing their plan failed, they went back to their base using a jet and passed Yamcha and group who driving a car.

Yamcha and group now have six dragon ball. The last dragon ball is in Pilaf's hand. So their direction is right to Pilaf's castle.

After a few hours of driving. They arrived at Pilaf's castle.

But what happen next is different from the original story. Yamcha is taking action. Yamcha asked Bulma and the others to just stay outside waiting for him to take the last dragon ball.

Yamcha just run inside Pilaf's castle and pass through everything easily.

The central room of Pilaf's castle. There are three people getting anxious and panic as their eyes looking at a huge monitor. In the monitor, Yamcha easily pass through all their prepared trap and running closer to their room quickly.

Just right when they wanted to run away with the dragon ball, Yamcha already made it to their room.

With Yamcha's Ki sense, it is an easy task to locating where Pilaf and his two underlings are.

Pilaf's gang are so terrified seeing Yamcha appeared in front of them.

Didn't want to take any more time, Yamcha just one-hitted all the three to make them unconscious and take the dragon ball.

Yamcha tied up the Pilaf's gang and just let them inside their castle.

Seeing Yamcha come out of the castle, Bulma and group run to him right away.

"Are you okay, Yamcha ?" Asked Bulma worriedly.

"I am okay, even though I didn't do anything in our past journey, I am strong you know ?" Said Yamcha.

"Right, here..." Yamcha stand close to Bulma and give her the last dragon ball.

"Now we can summon the dragon and make your wish come true." Said Yamcha.

Seeing the last dragon ball, Bulma is so happy that she can finally make her wish.

But when she remember about what she wanted to wish in the first place, she just stare at Yamcha for a full few seconds and said. "I think my wish is come true already."

"So what is your wish ?." Said Yamcha as Bulma suddenly hugged him.

"A wonderful boyfriend, ehehe" Bulma happily snuggled Yamcha.

"Is that so... I think my wish to have you as my girlfriend also come true then." Said Yamcha as he also hugged Bulma.

The journey really made those two close and there are few times where they have quite a close contact so the two happily snuggled without caring there are still Goku, Puar and Oolong watching them.

"E-ehem..." Yamcha shyly let go Bulma but Bulma keep hugging him and won't let him go.

"B-Bulma, there are Goku and the others watching you know." Said Yamcha.

"I don't care... hehe" Bulma still happily hugged Yamcha.

"How about the dragon balls, we already collected the seven of them." Said Yamcha but Bulma didn't care.

"How about you Goku ? Do you have a wish to be granted ?" Asked Yamcha.

"Ummm... Nope, I don't have any wish... I just want to train and get stronger." Said Goku.

"How about you Puar ?" Yamcha asked again.

"No, as long as I can still follow you Yamcha-sama." Said Puar happily.

"How about you Oolong, nope,, forget that I asked you." Yamcha shook his head.

"What the hell was that!! I have a wish you know!!" Oolong got pissed.

"Nope, you are just gonna waste the wish." Said Yamcha as if it is a matter of fact.

"Then, I shall helped myself to wish what I want." Said Yamcha.

The group then agreed to let Yamcha have his wish.

They put all the seven dragon balls on the ground and have Yamcha to said the spell.

"Come out, Shenron! And make my wish come true!" Shout Yamcha.

The dragon balls suddenly let out a shining light but the sky suddenly turned dark like a night.

Then a light come out of the seven dragon balls and shot up straight to the dark sky.

A dragon silhouette slowly formed and become real.

Shenron is appeared.

Shenron loud voice rang. "Come, tell me your wish. I will grant any one wish you have."

Before, Yamcha got a little headache thinking about what wish he should have.

He can wish to be transported to Planet Namek and got Guru to unleash his potential. But he think it's stil not the time yet.

A wish to have an immortal body ? Nope, not making me stronger.

Eternal Youth ? Nope, I want to growing old normally.

Gravity machine ? Bulma can made it.

Yamcha already thought of what is the wish he want.

"I want an ability to unlock potential like namekian Guru from planet Namek" Yamcha made his wish.

After a silent for a few moments.

'Is it too much?' Thought Yamcha

But after a little while more Shenron's eyes finally got bright red and a column of light shined down upon Yamcha.

A lot of information regarding his ability to unlock potential crammed inside his head.

Unexpectedly Yamcha doesn't happy about it, but sighed instead.

"Your wish has been granted. Farewell" Shenron turned back to a clump of light.

The seven dragon balls then flew up to the sky and they scattered all over the Earth.

"Aahhhh!!! Grandpa's dragon ball!!!' Goku shouted seeing all the dragon balls scattered.

"Hahah... that's right, Goku still want to keep his grandpa's dragon ball." Said Yamcha.

"It can't be helped as it is already scattered all over the earth again and it won't get detected by radar for a year." Said Bulma.

"So, what are we doing now ?" Asked Oolong.

Yamcha and Bulma looked at each other and smiled.

"We will go back to West City where Bulma's house are." Answer Yamcha.

"I will go along with Yamcha-sama" Said Puar.

"I think I'll tag along and go to West City also." Said Oolong.

"How about you Goku ? Want to come along too ?" Asked Bulma to Goku.

"No... I think I'm going to Master Roshi and train." Said Son Goku.

"Is that so..." said Bulma.

"Then take care of yourself and train hard or you won't surpass me." Said Yamcha to Goku.

"Yeah, I'll train hard then we're gonna have a fight again." Goku grinned.

"Flying Nimbus!!" Son Goku shouted and jumped to the air.

The flying nimbus came, take Goku fly away so fast that Goku become a dot and can't be seen anymore.

"So... shall we go to West City then ?" asked Yamcha.

"yeah!! Let's go!!" Bulma nodded.

Yamcha, Bulma, Puar and Oolong then went to West City.

On the way, Yamcha trying to digested the information about his new ability to unlock potential.

Unlock potential, this abillity able to unleash someone's hidden strength.

Yamcha didn't know if his unlock potential ability is the same with the great elder Guru ability or not, but he know that his ability have a few limitation.

First, he can't unlock his own potential.

This first limitation already making Yamcha down.

Second, the strength that he can unlock is limited to his own strength.

If Yamcha battle power is only at 10.000 then the most strength he can unlock from another person is 10.000.

Third is, someone's strength can only be increased according to their own potential.

If that person potential is only maxed at 20.000, even if Yamcha have 1 million battle power, Yamcha can't increase that person strength more than his maxed potential.

Yamcha also get some information regarding this "potential". This "potential" is something that can be increased and didn't fixed.

It can be said someone's potential is like a well. the depth of the well can be dug deeper by that person with training.

As for this Unlock Potential, it is the ability to pour the water to into that well.

The more deep the well, the more water can be poured inside and how much is this water available depended on Yamcha's own strength.

As for the side effect of this ability ? It's only drained Yamcha's energy and make him tired. There are no permanent side-effect in using this unlock potential ability.

That is all the information he got with his ability to unlock someone's potential.

At first, he thought that this ability would allow him to unlock his own potential saving the hassel to go to planet Namek.

So with this unexpected thing happened, Yamcha revise his training plan.

He also take the consideration with his new ability in making his plan for the future and a few things emerged in his head regarding how he should use this ability.

After a few hour, the group finally arrived at West City.

At West City, Yamcha, Puar and Oolong live at Bulma's house which is more than enough for them as her house is so big that they even have their own garden inside her house.

Bulma parents are really easygoing people. Moreover, when they knew that Yamcha is Bulma's boyfriend they become so happy that they asked Bulma when will they can have a grandson or granddaughter. It making Bulma exploded out and shout to their parents to just go away.

Yamcha also tease her and said that they should have kids as soon as they can. Bulma blushed red and pinch him.

"I'm still a schoolgirl." Said Bulma.

"Then I'll wait for you to graduated then."

Yamcha spent his days happily with Bulma. But he still keep his training of course.

Yamcha is a human, he isn't like a saiyan that have zenkai. So Yamcha still have a rest once in a while to have a dates with Bulma. Even then, Yamcha still training using the advantage of Multi-Form technique.

One Yamcha accompanied Bulma in their dates, as for the three Yamcha keep training.

Yamcha's strength keep increasing by leaps and bounds even more when a Gravity Chamber successfully made by Bulma's father, Dr. Brief.

The Gravity Chamber that Dr. Brief made for Yamcha only managed to increase gravity by 5 times only, as Dr. Brief didn't have any advanced technology like in the original story where he can made a Gravity Chamber that can increase gravity up to hundreds times because he can get the knowledge of advanced technology from aliens spaceships.

But 5 times gravity is enough for the current Yamcha right now who using Multi-Form technique.

As for Son Goku, he trained under Master Roshi with Krillin like the story.

But with Son Goku's advantage after wearing the heavy turtle shell early because of Yamcha, Master Roshi unexpectedly train them harder than the original story.

With Krillin strong competing sense, he managed to withstand the training.

The two become stronger than the original story. Even though it only around 30 or 40 battle power higher, it is still stronger.

Around a year has passed, and now it's time for the 21st Tenkaichi Budokai.

Tenkaichi Budokai or Martial Arts Tournament is held at Papaya Island.

Yamcha managed to increase his the gravity up to 5 times already with his Multi-Form technique still stagnated at four body split but Yamcha can maintain the Multi-From technique longer now.

Yamcha battle power suppressed to only around 150. If Yamcha unleash his full strength, his battle power will shot up to thousands battle power.

His target is to win the tournament. So he will not hold back if he need to. But if he can use this tournament to whet his battle instinct, why not ?

Yamcha come with Bulma, of course Puar and Oolong also come along.

After Yamcha register, they split up as Yamcha need to fight in the preliminaries.

Bulma, Puar and Oolong went to the audience place.

The preliminaries went smooth for Yamcha. In his brackets, there are no one he need to take notice of.

He meet Goku and Krillin there. The preliminaries ended just the same like the original story. The eight contestants are Him, Son Goku, Krillin, Jackie Chun, Bacteria, Ranfan, Nam and Giran.

Befor they start the quarter-finals, they have a break so Yamcha, Goku and Krillin go meet Bulma and the others.

"Wahh, you all are so awesome, the three of you managed to won throught until the quarter-finals." Said Oolong.

"Of course, but the winner definitely will be my Yamcha" said Bulma lovey-dovey with Yamcha.

Not like the original story, Yamcha really love Bulma and always treat her well.

"Yes!! Yamcha-sama will definitely win the tournament." Said Puar.

Krillin who just met the others a little can't believe it so he whispered to Goku."Goku, is that Yamcha person really strong?"

"Yeah, I never win against him before. So I really am excited to have a fight with him. I wonder how strong I get now compared to him." Said Goku.

Master Roshi also said something to Krillin. "Yes, There is no doubt, that Yamcha is a strong martial artist."

Yamcha can heard what they said, but he just pretend to not heard it.

"Goku, if we met, I hope we can have a good fight." Said Yamcha to Goku.

"Yes, I will fight with all I have." Son Goku nodded.

"Mmm... if you two fight, I don't know who I need to cheer for, so just do your best both of you." Said Bulma.

"Oh... does my girlfriend is not sure that her boyfriend can win the tournament ?" Tease Yamcha.

"I believe you can win it, but I'll just cheer for the both of you if you happen to met Son Goku." Bulma smiled.

"Yes, that's right... just believe in your man." Yamcha hugged Bulma.

"Ehem, you two lovebirds sure thinking that the world is yours." Oolong rebuked them.

"Yamcha-sama, the quarter-finals is going to start soon." Puar remind them.

"Okay then, now I'll go to the contestant waiting room." Yamcha stood up.

"Yes, fight and win this tournament okay?" Bulma cheer Yamcha.

"Sure, how about we go on a date tommorow ?" Asked Yamcha.

"Yes." Bulma nodded.

Yamcha waved as he walked away.

In the contestant room, Yamcha and the other seven Contestants gathered and take the lottery to determine their opponents.

The lot ended up the same again like the original story but Yamcha will not lose to Jackie Chun this time.

First Battle : Yamcha VS Jackie Chun

Second Battle : Krillin VS Bacteria

Third Battle : Nam Vs Ranfan

Fourth Battle : Son Goku VS Giran

As the battles are set, finally the quarter-finals started with words from the chairman of the world tournament chairman.

"Now, we shall start the quarter-finals!" Announcer talked excitedly.

"The first battle, It's a fight between Yamcha against Jackie Chun!"

Yamcha and Jackie Chun walked to the battle arena.

"Hello old man... should I take it easy for you ?" Said Yamcha.

"No need young man, I've been curious about you, so I'll just fight with all I have. Don't say that I'm not warning you, but I'm quite strong for an old man you know?" Said Jackie Chun or Master Roshi who is in disguise.

"Sure, I will have it in mind." Yamcha nodded.

"Fighters ready ?" Asked the announcer.

Yamcha and Jackie Chun take their battle stance.

"First battle, start!" The announcer begin the fight.

Just right when the battle start, the two martial artist dashed to each other right away and trade a few light blows in a high speed.

"Wa... what a high level fight! These two martial artist are no doubt the top martial artist in the world!!" Speak the announcer loudly even with a microphone in his hands.

"WWWOOAAAHHHH!" the audience got hyped right away.

"Th-they are strong!!" Said Krillin, he suddenly felt his confidence plummeted.

"Yes! I barely can see their punches!" Said Goku excitedly.

"W-who is that old man ? He can fight on par with Yamcha!" Said Bulma surprised.

Yamcha and Jackie Chun trade a few blows again but now they felt the probe blows was enough.

Yamcha and Jackie Chun never underestimate each other, but after a few blows Yamcha managed to land the first hit and blew Jackie Chun a few meters.

"WWOOAAAHHHHH!!!!" The crowd cheered on.

"What a high level fight!! But Yamcha managed to have the upper hand and successfully landed the first hit!!" The announcer can't help but to get excited with all the hyped atmosphere.

After landed from taking the first hit Jackie Chun dashed to Yamcha right away.

Just when Yamcha let out a punch right on Jackie Chun's face, his fist just passed through Jackie Chun.

"Afterimages!!" Shout the announcer shocked.

Jackie chun appeared behind Yamcha and throw a fast kick.

Before Jackie Chun managed to kick Yamcha, another Yamcha appeared right beside Jackie chun throwing a punch but it passed through again. Finally the real Jackie Chun showed up from right above Yamcha and drop an axe kick.

Unfortunately Jackie Chun target is also an afterimage and Yamcha kick him from behind right to the body throwing Jackie Chun away again.

Yamcha managed to have an upper hand again and landed another hit.

Now the audience is stunned. There are no sound as they watched with agaped mouth.

"Umm... sorry but can you two explain what happened ?" Request the announcer.

Jackie Chun and Yamcha then demostrating what happened with a slow motion.

"Ooohhhh!!!. So it's jackie chun afterimage trick Yamcha afterimage then attacked by Jackie Chun afterimage but Yamcha afterimage also trick Jackie Chun afterimages ended with Yamcha afterimage tricking Jackie Chun causing Yamcha to land a kick to Jackie Chun!! What a fight!!" The annoucer talked with high speed after he understood what happened.

"W-what are the annoucer saying?" Oolong get confused by the annoucer explanation.

All the audience also got confused, but they understand the announcer last words.

What a fight!

"WWOOAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!"

The audience once again break out a loud cheer.

Jackie Chun felt that he is in a disadvantage against Yamcha's speed and martial arts.

"Young man, now I'm gonna show you my power. Be careful." Jackie Chun warned Yamcha seriously.
