As soon as Raiden disappeared from the throne room, leaving Yasaka and Serafall to handle their negotiations, she reappeared in the kitchen with a flash of lightning. She immediately noticed her two maids inside.
Outwardly, Raiden maintained her cold and stoic demeanor, but inwardly, her heart softened at the sight of two catgirls hugging, dressed in traditional maid uniforms. There was nothing lewd about their attire—Raiden had no such perverted hobbies. However, she appreciated the beauty of proper maids.
The two girls finally noticed their new mistress watching them, and with wide eyes, they quickly bowed their heads before speaking.
"Raiden-sama ~meow~, why didn't you visit us yesterday? We wanted to show you how we look in the uniforms, though I prefer something more...free ~meow~," Kuroka purred.
"Yes, Raiden-sama, we didn't even get to thank you for rescuing us. You're truly the best!, thank you for saving me and my big sister" Shirone added, her voice brimming with gratitude.
Before Raiden could respond, the two girls embraced her, their small arms wrapping around her waist. Raiden used the opportunity to gently pet their heads, savoring the feel of their fluffy ears beneath her fingers.
Seeing Shirone so expressive compared to her anime counterpart, her cat ears fully out in the open, Raiden felt a surge of anger toward the bat's who had caused her such trauma. First, the scientists who had nearly hurt her as they had with her sister, and then the incompetent Red haired master who treated her like a pet, dismissing her pain entirely similarly like she did with rest of her pergeee.
But Raiden didn't allow her anger to show. She didn't want to frighten the two girls who were now hugging her.
As she continued petting them, Raiden finally spoke. "So, how are you two settling in here? Is everyone treating you well?"
Kuroka was the first to answer. "Everything's perfect, Raiden-sama. We have shelter, food, and we don't have to fear anything. It's truly amazing here."
Shirone nodded eagerly and added, "Yes, Raiden-sama, I get to spend all my time with my sister. No one's separating us anymore!" Her childish smile was as bright as the sun.
Raiden allowed one of her rare smiles to show. "I'm glad to hear that. You two have incredible potential. I've been thinking of training you as battle maids, so you can protect yourselves—and handle any annoyances that may come my way."
Kuroka beamed at the suggestion. "Yes, please, Raiden-sama! I want the strength to protect you and my sister. I don't want anything like what happened before to ever happen again ~meow~."
"Me too!" Shirone chimed in, hugging Raiden even tighter. "I want to protect my big sister and you Raiden-sama too, Raiden-sama."
Raiden chuckled softly. "Alright then..." But before she could finish her sentence, she felt an unfamiliar tug. It was as if part of her power was trying to go elsewhere. "I have something to do, girls, but be ready. Your training will begin soon—both in maid duties and combat."
"Bye, Raiden-sama ~meow~!"
"Bye, Raiden-sama!" they both called out in unison as she teleported away.
---
Back in her room, Raiden focused on the strange sensation guiding her to use a small amount of her power. When she did, she saw an Electro Vision appear in her hand. But before she could investigate further, the Vision teleported away from her grasp.
Realization struck her—someone was praying to her, strongly enough that a Vision had manifested for them. This both pleased and puzzled her. After all, she was presumed dead. The only ones who knew of her survival were Serafall, Kuroka, Shirone, and Yasaka. No one else should know of her existence.
Yet before she could contemplate this further, the sensation returned. This time, Raiden successfully traced the source of the prayer. What she saw surprised her greatly.
A beautiful woman was praying fervently to a body pillow. Her room was like a shrine—completely filled with Raiden's likeness. There were body pillows, plushis, and posters of her everywhere. Only a small bed indicated that this was a room and not the cultist hideout.
Raiden instantly recognized her: Kujou Sara, her general from another world, was praying to her with an obsessive smile. The intensity of Sara's devotion was unsettling, her expression almost maniacal as she gazed lovingly at the body pillow.
Just as Sara finished her prayer and looked at the pillow with an even creepier smile, Raiden decided it was time to stop watching. With a quick motion, she created a Vision for her.
As soon as the Vision was delivered, Raiden collapsed onto her bed. She wasn't sure whether to be flattered or creeped out by Sara's obsessive worship. In the end, she decided to feel happy. After all, who wouldn't be pleased to have a beautiful woman devoted entirely to them?
This thought made Raiden wonder about her first worshipper of the day—the one who had summoned the Vision earlier. All she knew was that it was a man, rigorously praying to her.
She couldn't help but shudder at the thought. Seeing a woman with a body pillow was one thing, but if it were some creepy man... Raiden shook her head, unwilling to investigate further.
What she didn't know was that, deep in a cave, the man who had received her Vision was feverishly scribbling in a book. His pen had run out of ink, so without hesitation, he stabbed his finger and used his own blood to refill it, continuing to write as if his life depended on it.
---
Raiden stood up from her bed, deciding there was no need to worry about her first worshipper for now. Instead, she thought of visiting her daughter, Kunou. Raiden regretted not being able to see her grow up, and now seemed like the perfect time.
With another flash of lightning, Raiden teleported to Kunou's side. Before she could even speak, the little girl was faster.
"Hello, Raiden-sama," Kunou said sweetly, bowing deeply. Even her long fox ears flopped down in submission.
"You don't have to be so formal, Kunou. After all, I am your mother," Raiden replied.
Kunou looked up at her with wide eyes, standing straight but still bowing her head slightly. "Understood, Raiden-sama..."
"Mother," Raiden corrected gently.
Kunou's eyes widened even further. "E-Eh?!"
Raiden, her tone warmer than usual, smiled. "Call me Mother."
Kunou's face flushed pink, her hands shooting up to cover her fox ears in embarrassment. "O-Okay... Mother."
Raiden finally gave her daughter the loving hug she had longed to give since the moment she first laid eyes on her. Kunou, feeling the warmth of her mother's embrace for the first time, couldn't hold back her tears. She cried more than she ever had before. For so long, she had wanted to meet her other parent, always asking her mother Yasaka when Raiden would return.
Yasaka had always reassured her that Raiden was away but would return soon to give Kunou the love she deserved. Eventually, Kunou had stopped believing it. She thought Raiden was either dead or didn't want her. But now, feeling Raiden's warmth, all her fears melted away, and everything finally felt right.
