Chapter 12:Training and working(Karna's POV)

I spent a long time narrating my life to my biological father and stepmother, while I familiarize myself with both them and my half-brother god. They seem to occasionally look at the world by connecting to the divine energy in me, but narrating things from my perspective, that directly live there, surely makes a great difference.

"I indirectly sent a message to you my son, as this world we live in lacks any sage that could properly teach you, I wanted to train you as a warrior, and a chariooter." said Surya, pausing as if wondering if I have something to add.

"It would be an honor, father. Though, there's something that I would like to ask before I forgot, do you our heavenly mother have any way that I could be at two places at the same time?"

"I have a secret mantra that allows me to form a perfect shadow of myself, and I am willing to teach you."

Even though there was no Chhaya here I suspected that stepmother still has a way of creating a shadow of herself. Why do I want to be in two places at once? Is not about wanting, it's about needing to.

If I don't want the rhoynars to gradually go into the process of gradually losing land, power, and their freedom to the expanding Valyrians; I need to ensure that the situation does not deteriorate on any of the fronts. With only myself, it would surely be hard to defend my city, Sar Mell, and detain Valyria expansion through the enormous Rhoyne region. So, began my first class with my father. Later, my stepmother taught me her mantra.

Later, I said goodbye to them and returned. It was already night.

"Jolhar, I am sorry to make you wait for so long I got myself caught up in something very important."

"It is not a problem, your highness."

"I have to warn you, though. From this day onward, I will be busy during the morning. We will start the reunion after dinner."

The next day, I woke up before sunrise and went to my father's temple to pay respect to him according to his faith rituals. Before, I was not sure if there was Surya in this world, or if I simply appeared here. As his faith appeared and the first time he was ever mentioned was after my birth, it seems there is a Surya so there could be a Karna.

As his son, he seems to care with all his heart, I think showing devotion to him is the least I could do. I think I should do the same for my stepmother as the mantra she gave me will help a lot, but I don't know how to reverence her. I also plan to build a temple in her honor.

My hard training with my father started. Being taught by a god was a marvelous and enlightening experience. Finally, when I was super tired and not even able to think properly stepmother came to save me:

"Time's up." stepmother said.

"No. Uh, yes time's up.-Said father.-I seemed to be so excited about our training that I forgot to pay attention to the time. How could the one that marks the beginning and end of the years not pay attention to time? Guess it is a mystery not even I will ever be able to solve."

"Before I go I would like to ask what should I do to show you reverence heavenly mother."

She then explained how should I do it and I started to plan in my head how to build a temple in her honor next to my father's one. So I said goodbye and returned to the mortal world. I had dinner and later started my reunion with Jolhar about state matters.

"How are the road-building projects going?"I asked him.

"We have the chief of construction already working on this the roads inside the city are already being built or improved. While our diplomats have negotiations still ongoing about how the cost of the road, the negotiation at Sar Mell and your father's native city is already concluded."

"Good."

And so I continue receiving reports for a long while and giving my input about them. Sadly, the education project is the one with the slowest progress, because of the lack of people capacitated to teach here, there are not many people that know how to write even in Essos which is much more advanced than Westeros.

After getting rid of this city of incompetent and corrupt bureaucracy, I would not even have people to fill up their jobs, if mother and father's families have not transferred some people here I would have a serious lack of personnel for even the most basic of technical work.

I have to return to my family their personal someday, so I think I will also help with training some teachers and will ask Jolhar and some workers to do this as well. There is no other solution besides overworking them and myself. At least, I will give extra payment for this work.

So, I passed some years being trained by my father in the morning, administrating the city in the evening, and teaching some elders from the city how to read, so they could become the first town teachers.

I never was good at teaching in my past life nor did I like it, but now I think I am being able to teach them well and filling quite fulfilled with it. I also think this was a great opportunity to know the people I rule over better.

This apparent peace continued for a while.
