Chapter 14

Chapter 14

"He was panting like a dog in the bushes, he couldn't even react when I was just behind him, it seemed like he was very badly wounded, his ribs were broken and he bled from various areas, the marks looked like as if they were from a sharp object which I believe to be leader's mighty axe."

Chelsea had already examined his body and knew where he was mostly wounded, how many broken bones he had.

She told the bandit honestly because she knew that the bandit leader was fighting the man himself and was already aware of where had he attacked the guard, and that was true, since the bandit's leader eyes shined.

His expression turned more smug, he was now believing what the girl said, since he had indeed hit the man in ribs using his kick and had landed multiple axe strikes as well.

He looked at the head in hands and laughed,

"HAHAHA! See this? You bastard? How's this now that your head is in my hands? To be so wounded just from my weakest attacks, you were just a trash. HAHAHA…"

The bandit leader mocked the human head in hands, although the things about him using his weakest attack was obviously fake, he was just bluffing in front of the girl to make her see him in a reverent light and spread this to all members of the camp about his glorious victory.

"Now I will put you at the display in front of our camp to make an example out of you, Rena, follow me back, HAHAHA–?"

The bandit leader looked back down and saw there were no signs of the girl who was just standing in front of him moments ago,

Just as he was about to confusedly look around, he felt a sharp prick behind his neck and suddenly fell to the ground, darkness consuming his conscious, the last thing he saw before going unconscious was the shoes of the same girl he was talking to.

Chelsea had killed him as well, when his guard was down.

'He probably thought that the most dangerous person to him was now dead and relaxed his guard, he was showing off as if he was very strong in front of me but I had witnessed the fight from the beginning unfortunately and knew how exhausted he was.' Chelsea with her frosty eyes looked down at the bloody body of the bandit leader.

She had landed a deep wound behind his neck killing him swiftly, the bandit was already wounded and exhausted from his previous fight and could not resist her sneak attack.

'But still, to think that such a powerful guard would be accompanying the merchant, it seems someone from higher position is involved, they are probably interested in me and maybe thinking of using me as a tool to earn gold.' Chelsea easily interpreted such actions.

She had enough evidence to think so as well. A mere merchant won't be able to hire a guard as powerful as this man.

"Haa… I am so late, Lily is going to eat me alive with her questions." Chelsea was exasperated and could only hope that Lily would be asleep by the time she reach back.

She searched the bandit leader as well but he had nothing on him,

'It is likely that all the treasures and wealth they have looted so far is in the camps, I got to check it out.' Chelsea was going to be taking the money with herself.

She will put that gold to better use than these mere bandits, corruption in the empire was high as she remembered from anime so she will require a lot of gold in advance if she wants to survive there.

Reaching the camp, all she witnessed was chaos due to the absence of leader and a lot of dead bodies, people were running here and there escaping for their own lives while carrying all valuable they had collected from their camps.

She didn't look at them any further and went straight for the leader's camp where no dared to enter.

She looked inside and searched for valuables and soon enough she found a sack of gold coins, expensive wine, many fruits, jewelry.

She picked up the huge sack and the jewelry, packed them securely to her back and left the camp.

'Alright, funds for future have been secured, mission accomplished. Now time to go back home…'

She was in the forests when suddenly her ears rang due to a deferring roar that resounded in the entire forest.

'Fuck! Danger beasts have been attracted to the smell of blood here, I need to get out before I get drawn into the raid.' She knew there were many danger beasts due to the heavy tapping footsteps that seemed to grow louder with each second.

The ground started to shake as Chelsea quickly went to the way her village was.

Along the way, she was met with some weaker danger beats which although she killed but with trouble due to all the valuables she was carrying with her on the back,

Fortunately, she successfully escaped getting some wound although on the way back.

It was her fortune that the bandit camp was quite far from the village and that's where most of the danger beasts were headed to.

'This will probably take care of all the remaining bandits.' Chelsea nodded to herself, not thinking much even if someone survived, she hadn't revealed her face throughout the time.

So even if someone to survive, they will remember Rena not her.

Chelsea quickly reached her home and slowly opened the door, she was bleeding from some parts but anything other than that was fine.

She was carrying a heavy sack of gold coins and jewelry on her back all the way which had greatly exhausted her.

She looked around and didn't see any signs of her little sister.

Just as she heaved a sigh of relief, a voice came from behind her back.

"So, you are finally back, huh."

Chelsea froze in her place.
