Chapter 148 - Family Time

Shallot was sitting there watching Yang who was about to humiliate her uncle again.

"Now where was I?" Qrow said thinking that if he distracted her then he could possibly win.

"You were telling us about your last mission!" Ruby said from the side coming back over now that Qrow was about to finish his story on what he was doing.

"Right, right..." Qrow said as he was trying not to be put in a combo by Yang again spamming low kicks.

"I'd come across a small village in the swamps west of Mistral. Right off the bat, I knew something wasn't right." Qrow started saying with Yang losing her concentration listening to the story.

"What were you doing there?" Ruby asked seeing that Qrow's health was already at the halfway point.

"I needed information. Tired from battling Grimm along the way, I decided to start my search at the town's inn. The place was crawling with lowlifes and thugs, even a few Huntsmen that I could only assume had been hired by less-than-reputable people for less-than respectable jobs. And that's when it happened." Qrow said when he finally was getting used to the controls and managed to not get juggled by Yang.

"What happened?" Yang asked as she stopped attacking for a second giving him a chance which she blocked easily.

"I was defeated... by the mere sight... of the innkeeper's skirt length!" Qrow said hoping that it would shock her enough so he could get the advantage but instead of that, he got put into a combo.

"That's it?" Yang said while finally taking down Scorpion.

"FINISH HIM!" The game said while Yang's character walked in front of Scorpion she pressed forward, forward, square. Sub Zero grabbed Scorpion's head slamming it into his head then she pressed down, down, square.

Sub Zero kicked Scorpion in his nuts before she ended it by pressing back, back, circle grabbing Scorpion head-snapping his neck ending eat.

"FATALITY!!!" The game was announced out to a shocked Qrow who saw the fatality not expecting for a game to be so brutal.

"You weren't surprised with the story," Qrow asked.

"Not really, Shallot does more than looking at skirts with us," Ruby says offhandedly before she covers her mouth while Yang is face-palming herself.

Qrow nearly choked hearing that before turning to look at Shallot. Shallot looked at him with a what look.

"What do you mean by that," Qrow asked while glaring at Shallot.

"Don't get thrown out of the window Qrow. I don't care if you are their uncle. I do what I want with my loved ones and nobody gets in my way." Shallot while staring back at Qrow.

Yang pulls Qrow's shirt trying to get his attention knowing that Shallot would indeed throw their uncle out the window if he felt like it.

"He will do it and I'm sure there is nothing you could do," Blake said from the side while she was looking at the game that Ruby had left thinking about her next move.

Ruby wanted to change the subject with the perfect question.

"So, Uncle Qrow, did you get in trouble with Ozpin?" Ruby asked her uncle hoping to pull her uncle's attention away from Shallot so he doesn't get thrown out of a window.

Although it would be hilarious to Blake, Shallot would make sure not to be too physical with his girlfriend's families. Mostly Yang's and Ruby's since he was sure that Summer would probably laugh if she found out Qrow was tossed out of the room by Shallot but would also come after him. She wanted to spend time with her baby girl some more.

"Nah, I and Oz go way back. We're cool." Qrow said while still looking at Shallot who picked up the water bottle off the side and throwing it at Qrow who was hit with the bottle bursting. They heard his aura break from that with a red mark showing up on his forehead.

"Cool for an old guy. Must have gotten along swimmingly." Yang said seeing Qrow soaked with water and the red dot on his forehead.

Qrow was about to get up and attack Shallot when Ruby didn't want a fight and left the bed appearing next to her uncle knocking him out. Ruby was looking at her unconscious uncle.

"At least he won't get beat up really bad now," Yang said seeing Ruby move to knock their uncle out.

"Why are you so irritable? Aren't I the pregnant one?" Blake asked from the side.

Shallot was also wondering why he was becoming more irritable. He already took the medicine and that should have taken care of the issues of his anger problems. It was one of the things of a Saiyan that he didn't like.

He didn't want to be a battle junkie but it was like withdrawal symptoms. The longer he didn't fight something more aggressive he would get but since he has surpassed pretty much everything on this planet he doesn't feel satisfied anymore.

He isn't even trying anytime in a fight and just tries to use different methods to challenge himself. It was like being a level 100 in a level 1 area. Even the one giving everyone problems who was Salem didn't even give him anything interesting. At least he got himself a maid out of it.

Qrow woke up 30 minutes later who was trying to remember what happened when he just felt a fist on his head when he lost consciousness.

Qrow looked around seeing Ruby and Yang playing the game. Their roommate Blake sitting on the bed reading a book and Shallot nowhere to be seen.

Qrow rubbed his head trying to figure out who knocked him out.

"Ow!" Qrow said feeling soreness at the crown of his head.

"Your awake?" Blake said noticing Qrow awake.

Ruby and Yang turned seeing their uncle awake with Ruby looking away immediately hearing that Yang didn't stop attacking her.

"That's cheating. I wasn't paying attention." Ruby said while trying to counter.

"That's your fault baby sister," Yang said in a teasing manner while trying to capitalize on her mistake.

"What happened?" Qrow asked.

"Ruby knocked you out," Blake said as if it was the most normal thing.

"Your joking right?" Qrow thinking that she was joking not believing his niece could do that.

"Sorry Uncle Qrow," Ruby said without turning away from the screen with her getting Yang in the corner and spamming a juggle combo when she finally won the round.

"Yes!!! Finally!!!" Ruby yelled out.

"Maybe Ironwood is right and I'm drinking too much... naw that isn't it," Qrow said but immediately changed his mind.

"You... know the General?" Yang asked turning away from the screen this time giving Ruby the chance she needed.

"Hey, I know everybody to some extent. Remember, you're talking to a member of the coolest team that graduated Beacon!" Qrow said while pulling out a picture that had him, Raven, Summer, and Taiyang groggily still waking up fully.

"Hah, Team STRQ... That's where I met your parents. We were pretty well known back in the day." Qrow said while reminiscing.

"Well known for crummy fashion sense!" Ruby said while turning her head seeing the photo before quickly turning back to stop a low kick from Yang.

"Hey, we looked good! And I have a number of inappropriate stories to back that up!" Qrow said.

"And we have just a few also," Ruby said in retaliation.

"I didn't need to know that," Qrow said with a scrunched-up face being completely sober hearing that.

"Anyways, I'm too old to be hanging out with a bunch of kids. You're gonna cramp my style." Qrow said while standing up while keeping his balance.

"Just remember that if you need anything you can let me know," Qrow said while stopping in the doorway.

*BOOOOM*

They all heard a loud sound and shortly while the building was shaking and they all stood up trying to see what was going on. Qrow thinking that maybe they were being attacked started running down the hallway toward the sound.
