Chapter 66: Meeting an old Rival

*Knock Knock!* The receptionist knocked on the door. Not even a second later an second late an old voice, filled with wisdom replied from behind the door.

"Who is it?"

"Head Elder Si it is Ka Lin. I currently have the genius Ken Hai with me. He said he is here to see you."

"You may enter." Ka Lin opened the door in what seemed to be an office it was filled books and scrolls.

Sitting around a desk is a man who looks to be in his sixties. He had black eyes which seemed to contain untold wisdom and tall grey hair.

"Ka Lin you may leave us." she bowed and left.

"Please Alchemist Ken take a seat." he pointed to a chair and I took a seat.

"Now then I guess your here about the early rank up aren't you?" Ken Hai nodded.

Without a word he gave Ken Hai a piece of paper. "That's a letter from the our main branch." I opened it and smiled.

"It seems I am to take the Golden alchemist test in the next two years." say Ken Hai, the head Elder only nodded.

The reason Ken Hai came here is to get confirmation from the main branch of the Alchemist guild.

The Red Iron city branch is only a small insignificant branch. They wouldn't pay any mind, since this country is rather small.

However the Head Elder here has good connection in the guild.

"Thank for doing this Head Elder Si." I thanked him.

"It is no problem youngster, it would be a waste for such a talent as you to be wasted, this elder here seen your recipes, I believe you will personally revolutionize the world of alchemy."

With another bow I left. He's a good man. I scanned him. I won't kill or castrate him.

Stepping out of the building I see someone I haven't seen in a while.

"Yo Si Lan!" I said with a wide smile. Si Lan looked at me with a bit of surprise. She looked at him with a narrowed eyes, before muttering "Len Hai?"

"You remember me!" I walked up to her. "You look...different." she says as she stares at my face for a couple seconds before blushing and looking away.

"Is that really you Ken Hai?" she says a bit embarrassed.

"It's good to see you and it's no longer, Len Hai. I've been kicked out of the Len clan, I now go by my mother's surname Ken."

Hearing this she was a bit surprised. When she fought Ken Hai she saw a lot of promise in Ken Hai.

"Wait Ken Hai! As in the genius alchemist Ken Hai?!" she asked surprised, Ken Hai replied with a nod.

"I see it's good seeing you again." she says trying not keep eye contact with Ken Hai.

A ferocious smile appeared on Ken Hai's face. "I want a rematch." he said hearing this Si Lan looked up and saw a burning fire for battle in Ken Hai's eyes.

Hearing this those standing by became surprised, they've been listening in for a while.

Si Lan has a reputation of being a cold beauty, is a very known one. She would ignore the advances of every man that tried courting her.

When they saw the twenty-five year old Si Lan swooning for a fifteen year old, they were surprised such a youngster was so smooth.

Though learning of his name they pieced it together who he was.

"You wish to trade blows with me?" Ken Hai nodded with a battle hungry smirk on his face.

"Follow me." she says as she began to guide Ken Hai somewhere. Many people stopped what they were doing, seeing the two walking side by side with each other, it seems more gossip is bound to enter Ken Hai's life but he didn't care, he only wanted to fight.

Soon they were infront of a large group of people, watching a fight between two cultivators on gigantic square.

However Si Lan released her cultivation stopping the two fighters. They looked at her in slight fear.

"Leave." was the only word she said the two immediately jumped off the stage and ran off.

"These fighting rings are located all around the city it's where cultivators may come to settle disputes or have a spar. Many people come to take bets." says Si Lan as she walks up into the ring.

Seeing the fight get interrupted many people were surprised and frustrated however that was immediately put away when they saw who it was.

But they wondered who Ken Hai was, it was only by how he was dressed, that some guessed who it was along with a few people who tailed them confirmed his identity.

"But isn't this youngster an alchemist?" Alchemist were known to be weaker than the usual cultivator, but that was immediately put down by another stranger.

"Yes but I heard his cultivation was 7th of Martial Disciple!"

"Eh! Isn't this youngster only 15!"

Ignoring the gossiping audience, Si Lan in revealed her weapon a Chinese dao sword with bluish black handle and a blue ribbon hanging from the hilt.

"I've heard rumors of you becoming many times stronger. At first I didn't know it was you, since I thought you still carried the name Len. I'll be taking you seriously this time unlike the last time we fought in hand to hand combat." said Si Lan a look of focus in her eyes.

Ken Hai smiled as he took out a sword a katana to precise. The blade didn't have an a tsuba. The sheath and handle were both greyish black.

"Then I guess I'll try taking you seriously now should I." said Ken Hai as he entered an draw stance.

The two then release their cultivation, as bluish grey hue surrounded Si Lan a golden orange hue surrounded Ken Hai.
