Chapter 54

Leo blocked every incoming strike at his life as he caught them coming.

"You're going to fall here today, prince Leo!" Vulen sneered as he dived to the side to avoid a swipe of Leo's sword. After dodging his own sword swung in attempt to behead Leo.

"CLANG!"

A loud collision was heard as Leo quickly avoided the attack.

Vorbuk could see Leo struggling in the fight against the general and watched to intervene, but as soon as he jumped forward an arrow flew out from the trees and hit the ground in front of him.

"General Vulen!" Elas shouted as he dived out from the trees.

"General!" Allisa and Aywin echoed after Elas they followed him from behind.

A loud growl escaped from Vorbuk's throat at the sight of the three warriors. He could easily remember them from their past fight against him and Leo. The sight of Allisa surprised him for a moment since he recalled she was suppose to have been sentenced to death by Cadirade kingdom, but he did not dwell on the thought.

"TING!" "TING!" "TING!"

Elas and Aywin unsheathed their own swords. Elas was quickly rushing to help his General fight the crown prince, while Aywin stood beside Allisa to protect her from the large wolf.

Vorbuk dodged as one arrow after another came flying at him through the air as he dashed forward after Allisa. He wanted to slam against her with force to send her flying like he had in the past, but he found himself dodging the incoming swing of Aywin's sword. With speed almost able to be countered against he dived at the two again and again. Every time he dived at them he found himself diving away in attempt to avoid the sword.

"ARROO!"

After several swings at him during his attempts to dive Aywin had managed to slice his sword across the left shoulder of Vorbuk. The wolf's eyes widened for a moment from the pain and growled deeply at the warrior who was smirking with pride. Blood was rushing from the wound, but Vorbuk did not have the time to worry about himself.

Leo was struggling with his own fight to fend off the general Vulen and the warrior, Elas.

The loud sounds of clashing swords was all that Vorbuk could hear as he took a glance to check on the young prince. He could see how badly Leo was struggling as the two of them were fighting together to try and take his life. Worry started to fill his mind, because if he did not figure something out quick he felt like the prince might really fall to the general.

"AROO!"

Vorbuk snarled and bared all his fangs at Allisa and Aywin who were still aiming their weapons at him. His body started to shake as he could feel his mind going blank from pure determination to remove the obstacles that stood before him. His lungs were heaving heavy pants as his body built up a powerful force in his soul. The red markings on his fur along with his eyes started to glow as his body launched itself off from where he stood.

"AH?!"

"EH?!"

Both of them were shaken by surprise as they saw the wolf barreling towards them with pure force and determination to land an attack on them.

Allisa wanted to turn and run in fear, but she caught a glimpse of Aywin beside here. The warrior dived in front of Allisa and shoved her to the side out of the way.

"PUFF!"

The dirt flew into the air around her as she landed on the ground away from him. Her eyes quickly glanced all around her to find her bow, but it was at Aywin's feet and out of her reach from when he shoved her. Panic started to fill her as she saw him refusing to move from his spot like he had been glued. Aywin's eyes were filled with a fierce motivation to protect her from the incoming attack as his sword raised high.

Tears started to fill in Allisa's eyes as all she could do was watch as the wolf's body dove through the air. It's fangs were bared wide open and it's body glowed brightly making it look almost like an enraged god in her eyes. She couldn't help the thoughts running through her mind that made her regret following Vulen while at the same time cursing herself for letting herself even think such thoughts.

"Aywin!" She screamed as she saw the wolf's fangs close in on the warrior's throat.

Aywin could see the fangs of the wolf closing in on him as he raised his sword up. His eyes scanning across the ground to take a last glance at the elf girl, Allisa. He could see her tear filled eyes crying out for him and a warm smile filled his face in her direction. As the wolf collided with him his sword was pierced right through the wolf's side causing the beast to howl out in pain for a moment before the wolf's fangs crunched down forcefully on Aywin's throat. His windpipe was shattered instantly under the shear force.

"AYWIN!" The girl screamed out as she gathered herself to stand up and dash over to his body. She moved herself around to avoid the wolf that was limping away from Aywin with a sword still in it's side. The stench of the wolf's blood was filling the air around them.

"Vorbuk!" Leo's panicked voice filled the air when he saw the state that Vorbuk was in. The image of the massive wolf limping towards him with a sword sticking out from his side.

Vorbuk's expression was not one of pained, but one of a thurst; a thirst to kill his enemies and protect Leo at any cost. His mind was empty without any thought and his body was glowing brightly making it hard for the other's to look away. A rumbling noise was filling the air as the wolf bellowed out a loud growl and bared it's fangs directly at the General Vulen.

The general glared back at the wolf with a lack of care. He had his own determination to kill the crown prince and his mind had already been made up. There was no second thought about turning tail to flee because the wolf had simply set it's sights on him.

Turning his head to the side and grasping the hilt of the sword with his fangs the wolf yanked the sword right out of his side and dropped it. His eyes slowly raising towards Vulen as the man turned to face him with his sword raised.
