Chapter 48

On top of a house outside of the palace of Dradel a young looking man watched the palace from a distance as the royal family left in a royal carriage. At a glance he could tell that the goddess Flora was in the carriage with the family. The sight of her caused the young man to scoff in disgust.

"Such a nuisance everyone seems to be lately!" His eyes slowly turned back to the palace. A smile slowly slipped onto his face as another young man landed on the roof beside him and knelt down respectfully.

"You seem to be enjoying your new abilities, Curtis." The man admired the black feathered wings on the young prince's back.

"Of course, my lord. If it wasn't for you and queen Lyra I wouldn't have been able to reach this height so quickly." Curtis smiled with a devilish glint in his eyes.

"It looks like the royals all left the palace. That b***h Flora got in the way and dragged them out. I guess she got a tip I was in the area." His eyes were black as coal as he glared at the palace in front of him. His medium length black hair fluttering in the wind for a moment before he pulled his hood up to cover his head. Everything the man wore was dark as the night itself from his hood to his shoes.

"Is there going to be a problem with the plan to move forward?" Curtis watched the man closely. He was careful when he spoke because he knew the man could strike him down with a single strike.

"Of course not! If I wasn't able to complete my tasks I wouldn't be considered the god of hell!"

Chynir turned away from the palace to face Curtis. A bright smile was on his face as he slowly raised his hand up in the air. The action caused Curtis to look at him with confusion, but the god did not feel offended at the look at all. Snapping his fingers Chynir just laughed quietly to himself as the Palace of Dradel behind him in the distance exploded and collapsed to the ground.

Screams of fear, pain, terror, and confusion all filled the air around Dradel's main city. As the palace was falling to the ground and bricks were flying through the air from the explosion many lives were buried under the rubble. The sounds were like music to Chynir's ears as he watched a look of admiration appear on Curtis face as the young prince watched Chynir's actions.

He simply snapped his fingers and a whole palace collapsed! Curtis was amazed at the sight in front of him. His black wings spread out wide behind him as he couldn't help but show his admiration to the god in front of him.

"Child's play!" Chynir scoffed as he glanced back at what was left of the palace of Dradel.

"Ch..Child's play?" Curtis's eyes sparkled as he watched Chynir.

The god slowly walked over to the edge of the roof and jumped down. His descent to the ground was slow and graceful to the point that his landing didn't even make a sound. A wide smile filled his face as his eyes flashed with a red glint. A pair of sharp fangs extended from his teeth and his body glided forward with grace. He was moving so quick that it almost didn't look like he was moving at all.

Every now and then his body would stop in front of a mortal on the street. Raising his finger in front of their throats he would simply slice their throats open with his fingernail causing blood to burst forward. Before a single bit of blood could touch him his body would vanish. Not a single mortal had time to scream. There was not a single bit of restraint or a chance to flee in panic because before they even noticed their was someone before them their life would already be severed from living.

As Chynir glanced away for a moment towards his new subordinate he could see Curtis flying around while baring a long rapier sword. Every mortal the young prince would fly past would quickly loose their head from behind. The young prince did not have the grace of Chynir, but it still felt like a beautiful dance of death that any warrior of death could admire.

The black wings on the back of Curtis kicked up air and would occasionally loose a black feather to the force of the flapping. He truly looked like a fallen angel as his long blond hair danced in the swift movements of air like he was swimming in the sea. His deep blue eyes had turned completely red and gave off a pure killing intent as he reaped life after life for the sake of his god, Chynir.

"Looks like I got myself a fallen that learns quickly." Chynir smirked and chuckled for a moment before continuing his dance of death. The god would not spare a single life that fell into his vision. Neither age nor gender mattered to him as long as it was breathing he would reap the life with a single swipe of his fingernail as his fangs bared a bright smile of pride.

Between the two of them they worked and slaughtered their way down the streets almost like a dance of death that was neither seen nor heard, but the two of them.

Chynir was starting to get bored with just swiping his finger at people to kill them so every now and then he would throw in a slow motion to gesture the palm of his hand out towards a house or business. A look of innocence on his face that one would not assume to be filled with killing intent from a man with such beauty that he could be mistaken for someone of pure royalty even though he was cloaked in such dark clothing. At the palm of his hand a small red light would appear and shoot like a bullet at the building and the second it would land on the building it would explode like a bomb went off causing the entire building to collapse in flames.

Every explosion would be followed by the sounds of screams in the distance from people panicking as they could not figure out what was going on.

No one in Dradel's city had any knowledge that the god of hell had come to play, but the king. With the warning from Goddess Flora the king had fled his city with the goddess and his family, but everyone else had been left behind before warning could reach them. The king had not expected the god to be already waiting outside his gate when he got the warning to flee with his family.

That night before the god, Chynir, would get bored with his dance of death a third of the city would fall to him and his new subordinate Curtis.
