Chapter 230

On the other hand at Theapan's Temple,

Johan Lovette paced back and forth inside his temple. There was a strange occurrence in front of him that he had not been given a warning about. It was something that he felt the best option on how to approach would be to contain word getting out for a long as possible. If people found out it could cause panic among the people of the realm.

The pope's aid Uriel watched him paced back and forth before asking directly, "Your Holiness, how should we deal with this?"

"We should contain this information for a long as possible until I can come up with a better idea." Johann Lovette could not understand what caused such a change.

Uriel Hesitated before asking, "Was there no warning at all?"

"Do you think I over slept and forgot about being warned by a god that they would suddenly leave?" Johann Lovette felt like Uriel was testing his patience. There was too much stressing him out lately that he felt like he could take a long vacation himself.

They both turned their heads and looked in the direction of the world tree. No, they looked at where the world tree once rested. The only thing that remained was the pool of water left behind by the world tree itself. With the world tree suddenly vanishing without a trace things in the realm could become very complicated in the future.

"I can't believe they woke up after all this time and just left like that.." Uriel mumbled to himself as he found it hard to imagine the world tree waking up and walking out of the Theapan Temple unnoticed.

"Uriel," Johann suddenly thought of something as he spoke, "Connect me to the god's realm. We should inform him of the sudden change."

"Are you worried he will get involved in the mortal war that Chynir started?" Uriel asked honestly.

"No," Johann Lovette replied instantly. "He would have no interest in that."

"Then why-?" Uriel started to ask.

"Think about it," Johann explained. "One of the original gods that has been asleep for all those years suddenly walked out of our temple without a word. Think about how people are going to react when they find out and ask me again why I think we should inform the god's realm."

"I understand. I will set it up immediately." Uriel agreed.

"That wont be necessary." A voice suddenly called out as they both turned to see Shides and Iemis stepping out of a portal into the temple just a few feet from them. They weren't sure which god spoke but they could already feel a heavy pressure in the air as they entered the temple. It took a moment for the two gods to lessen the heavy aura they emitted because of their power being so overbearing.

"When did it wake up?" Iemis asked without delay as he walked over towards the pool of water without pausing to greet them.

Shides quickly kept pace with Iemis and whispered to him so that the others could not hear him, "Are you sure you're feeling well enough to come here with me to look into the world tree? I could have come alone. Even if you hide it from the other gods you can't fool me, Iemis."

"Are you really going to question me in front of them?" Iemis asked in return.

His question caused Shides to go silent for a moment before asking something else, "How did you sense the world tree wake up so quickly? You rushed over almost immediately."

"Now you're asking different things you shouldn't." Iemis stated bluntly.

"I wasn't asking you," Shides sighed heavily, "I was thinking the question out loud? We are already breaking the laws you so heavily enforced since the beginning of time. Curiosity as to things involving you because of that is only natural."

"It woke up sometime today," Johann Lovette's voice cut through their conversation to answer the god's question. "Uriel came in and found it gone. Nobody noticed them leave because their human form is unknown to the people. Unlike a tree, a person walking out of the temple is not strange to occur here."

"Invalid," Iemis shook his head slightly. "It wouldn't matter if they knew what the world tree's human appearance was. Nobody would be able to stop the third born god from leaving even if they wanted to. They could get past you without even the slightest trace being left behind."

"Are they something to worry about?" Uriel couldn't help but ask while watching Iemis speak of the world tree.

"Invalid," Iemis denied those words. "It is impossible to know what is inside someone. They may not hold interest in the mortal affairs or what Chynir is doing but we can not say why they chose to wake up now."

"Let's go back." Iemis said to Shides before turning to leave without giving the pope or Uriel a chance to respond to his words. Shides was flustered as he rushed after Iemis. The world warping around them as they stepped back into the god's realm. Everything was bright and beautiful around for as far as the eye could see. However the silence between the two of them was not something bright nor beautiful.

"I thought you wanted to look into it further," Shides asked confused on why they left so suddenly. "Why did you rush out so quickly after only checking over the location?"

"Shides," Iemis staggered as he took a few steps towards a tree and braced himself where he stood. "You will need to be careful in the future. Things are changing too drastically."

"Before worrying about me maybe you should take care of your own health. What if the other gods see you like this?" Shides tried to help steady him.

"Invalid," Iemis pushed him away. "I know my health better then you do."

"... They were always the quiet type. I never could understand what they were thinking but the world tree never caused trouble in front of anyone. This might not be a bad thing that it woke up." Shides pondered over the world tree waking up.

"Is that how you view them?" Iemis asked curiously.

The world tree for Iemis was something else entirely. It was a god that was born from the oldest living tree after the realms creation. It was considered the third original god as the world tree was brought into godhood after Chynir. Since it was originally a tree from the beginning it had no gender. Willow trees were a tree that carried both male and female genes mutating into an ability when the tree ascended. It could decide which gender it wanted to be when it took human form. Making it difficult to recognize them unless your aware.

Reaching godhood the world tree followed the laws in place by the gods. At least that was the only side of the world tree that was seen by others. The god in fact did not care about mortals and what affairs went on between them. Iemis was not worried about the world tree getting involved in what was happening with Chynir because of the world tree's lack of interest in mortals.

It was most likely the world tree felt the temple was too noisy and chose to find somewhere else to rest temporarily. That was what Iemis hoped for.
