Reigning over the Heavens

Joren's childhood was a cruel landscape, shaped by pain, suffering, and humiliation at every turn. Bullied relentlessly at school, he became an outcast, the target of both physical and emotional torment. At home, he was invisible, unloved, and neglected by a family that seemed to see him as nothing more than a burden. His parents, wrapped in their own indifference, ignored his cries for help, leaving him to fend for himself in a world that seemed determined to crush him. Every day, Joren endured a life that felt like an endless nightmare—a nightmare that was only made worse by the fleeting moments of hope he’d occasionally catch, only for them to be dashed by fate’s cruel hand. Just when Joren thought he might find a way out, a glimmer of salvation appeared—a chance to escape, a way to break free from the pain. But fate, ever indifferent, saw fit to deal him a final, devastating blow. He died—his life snuffed out before he could escape the nightmare. Or so he thought. Reincarnated in a new world, Joren’s torment did not end with his death. In an unimaginable twist, the Gods made a grave mistake: they allowed his memories to remain intact. All the suffering, all the heartache, and all the pain of his former life flooded back with him into this new existence. It was a gift and a curse—one that would shape the man he would become. But instead of crumbling beneath the weight of his past, Joren chose to rise. No longer would he be a victim. No longer would he cower in the shadows of those who sought to break him. The world that had once been his enemy would now feel the force of his wrath. With a heart hardened by years of torment, Joren set out to rewrite his story. The shame and helplessness of his previous life fueled his every step as he sought to amass fame, wealth, and power. Yet, his quest for power was not simply about inflicting pain on those who wronged him—it was a drive to prove to himself that he was no longer that broken child, that he could become something greater. But the world he found himself in was far from simple. It was a land filled with its own dangers, politics, and power struggles, and Joren quickly realized that the pursuit of power was more complicated than he ever imagined. As he begins to rise through the ranks of this new world, Joren must face not only the demons of his past but the temptations of his newfound abilities. Will he be consumed by his thirst for revenge and the allure of power, or will he find redemption and forge a new path for himself? Each step he takes forces him to confront not just his enemies, but the question of who he truly wants to become. In the end, will he be a ruler, a tyrant, or something entirely different? Joren’s journey is one of self-discovery, as he battles the forces of both his past and his present in his quest for dominance—and ultimately, to shape the world in his own image. Chapter 3 - New World

Shock and confusion were plastered over Joren's face. Who was he? How did he end up here? Why did he end up here? Didn't he die? How was he alive? So many questions riddled his mind, yet there was no answer that he could come up with.

"Wait wait wait. After I attacked Trey, he ended up stabbing me in the chest. Judging by the fact that I'm alive and obviously in a new body, that can only mean two things. Either I underwent a very unlikely brain transplant, or I transmigrated to another world, which is impossible. That shit only happens in novels, games, and all that other fantasy stuff."

He paced back in forth trying to understand his situation when a nurse walked in. She was a beautiful woman who looked to be in her late twenties. She had long green hair and black eyes. Medium-sized breasts, and a nice curvy body with a plump butt. She walked into the infirmary with a certain elegance that would make any man fall for her.

'Holy shit she's hot. Maybe I can ask for her number.' Joren thought to himself as he walked over to her.

"Hey cutie, seems like you're up now. Are you okay? Any lingering pain?" She had a beautiful smile that would pierce the heart of any man.

"Ah, uh, yes, I'm okay. My head still hurts a bit, but I'm fine." He blushed as he looked at her. 'How can someone be so beautiful? She's more beautiful than Alice! Is it her womanly womanly charms? Am I attracted to Milfs? No no no, she looks like she's in her twenties, she can't be a milf, not yet at least.'

"Oh Joren, You're up now. I was just coming to check on you before going back to work." An old man walked in with a smile on his face.

"Hello, Madam Lacey. Thank you for helping my little friend over there." He bowed

"It's no big deal. This is my job and I'm paid to do this. You can't work if you're not in good condition." Lacey spoke.

When Joren looked at the old man, his head started throbbing. Pain washed over him and he clutched his head.

"AHHHHHH!" He screamed as he collapsed to the floor, passing out.

Lacey and the old man rushed over to him to check his condition.

"What's wrong with him? Is he going to be okay?"

Lacey, checked his head to see if there was anything she missed while taking care of him earlier. When she noticed that his head was fine she sighed in relief.

"He's fine. His body still needed rest. Since he's young, he needs proper rest if he sustains injuries. He should be fine tomorrow."

The old man picked him up and put him on the bed. Lacey then walked out to see if anyone else needed aid while the old man went back to his work.

Hours later, Joren woke up. It was night and the moon was high in the sky. He rubbed his eyes and sat up.

"Holy fuck I'm in another world." Shocked at this revelation, he stared blankly at the ceiling.

Before he passed out, Joren's head was filled with memories of the body he was in. But to his surprise, it wasn't that he transmigrated, he reincarnated. His soul underwent the natural process of reincarnation. His memories were wiped creating a blank soul. That blank soul was then reborn into this world as a boy named Joren. A name they both shared. But when he hit his head, it jolted his soul and accidentally made it remember his past life.

"So it's not that I took over this body, but it's that I was always him, and by chance, I remembered my past life." Joren started shedding tears. In his current life, he has two loving parents and two older sisters. All of them loved each other dearly. He could feel their love for him, something that he'd never felt in his previous life. He liked this feeling.

He and his father were both on their way to a city to sell some goods. Joren wanted to come along and his father thought it was a wonderful idea. More bonding time he thought. The both of them were accompanied by some of his father's companions but halfway there, they were confronted by bandits. They all tried to fight them off, and some of them died. Before Joren could know the fate of his father, he was knocked out. When he woke up, he was a slave.

'No no no no no. A slave? NEVER! My past life was shit, I was weak and pitiful. Never again. I won't be in that position ever again.' Anger swelled up within him. In his eyes, he had escaped a horrible life just to be thrown back into one. He hated that. His life here would end up being worse since he's a slave.

'Phew, calm down Joren, let's sort everything out. So first of all, I'm a slave and my freedom is highly limited. I don't have access to books, education, or anything of that sort. I wonder if I can join this world's military to escape slavery. I remember Gramps telling me that I have to work hard if I want to be free, but I know that's a lie. If this is similar to all the midlevel novels I've read, then I'm a slave for life unless I take matters into my own hands.'

Joren spent the next two hours collecting his thoughts and absorbing the information from his new life. He then formed a plan to escape from his current situation. As he was doing this, he came across something that changed his view on everything, magic. This world has magic and it comes in various forms.

'If I can learn magic, then my chances of escaping will increase. Since I'm a slave, I obviously can't learn magic since I don't have access to knowledge and I can't learn it by myself. The only thing I can do right now is do my slave work, and train my body as I did in my past life. During this time, hopefully, I can figure out a way to learn magic, but if I can't, I'll just focus on learning how to survive.'

After concluding his thoughts, Joren went to sleep to get ready for his work in the morning.
