CHAPTER 15
Zipora hissed at Reed,slithering from left to right,saying,"My my Reed!Never knew that we would meet again".
"Really?", he asked,resting the edge of the sword on his right shoulder.
Zipora stopped moving,hissed again and said," But you'll have to go back and pave way for all the demons to come through","Nice suggestion Zipora,but am not interested ",he said.
Deborah stood at Reed's back,watching how Zipora was moving, as if she was planning something.
She suddenly felt a sharp pain in her stomach, and groaned in pain,falling down on her knees.
Reed heard her groan and turned back to check.He saw her holding her stomach tight,like someone fighting a wild animal inside you.
" Are you okay? ",he asked.
She rose her head up,smiled,and was about to reply,when she saw Zipora,coming towards Reed quickly.
" Look ou...",before she could complete it,Reed had already noticed.
He landed a blow on her,sending her back to where she was standing.
Quickly, she turned into an Anaconda,and divided herself into two.
Reed could see that Zipora was ready for the beating of her life.
He carried Deborah with his hand,placed her close to a tree and said,"Stay there","But!","Don't say anything. Just stay",he ordered her.
He turned back to face Zipora,who was already coming close to him in speed,with her double.
They both spat at Reed at the same time,and he quickly blocked it with his sword.
Her double came close to his head,and he cut her into two,with his sword.
Surprisingly, the double multiplied, and they came after him.
He was quick in what he was doing.Slicing,punching and cutting them,was what he was doing.
He then noticed how much they had become.
The more he kept on cutting them,the more they increased.And he couldn't identity Zipora.
Deborah saw what was going on,and wanted to help him.
She struggled to get up,and began to move. Only for her to feel an invisible shield,blocking her from going anywhere, "There's a shield here?,Reed placed a shield here", she seemed upset.
How was she going to help him.
Reed on the other hand,continued to fight with all the anacondas, but he was focused on getting Zipora,the main source of the anacondas.
Suddenly, an anaconda tightened itself to Reed's left her.Reed was about to remove the anaconda, when another held his other hand.
Soon,they all gathered him and tightened themselves to him,so that he won't escape them,and he would suffocate.
Deborah was worried. She wanted to help him out.
She began to feel weak,as her head continued to bleed,and she fell to the ground, looking weak and tired.Her eyes then dimmed and closed.She had fainted.
As the anacondas trapped Reed down,Zipora finally had her chance to get the book.
She turned and slithered away quickly, towards the castle.Thinking she has trapped Reed.
Little does she know that Reed was pretending to be weak.He that was struggling, stood normally, like nothing was wrong or going on with him.
He dragged all the anacondas away from his body, squeezed them together in his hand,and used his power to burn them.
He turned to the direction, where Zipora was.Shooked his head and said,walking towards a big tree," Goodness!,she thought she had me already".
He uprooted the tree,and raised it up like a spare,"I'll surprise her".
Meanwhile, the prince and the monsters,finally found a way to pass.They were about rushing to rescue Deborah, when they saw Zipora coming towards them,"She's back.Get ready to attack",the prince said,taking position.
She came closer,and was about to wipe them out with her tail.
"Attack!", the prince shouted,and they all charged.
Zipora hissed and wanted to spit on them,when a flying tree came from nowhere, and landed on her head with force,planting it inside the ground.
The prince was shocked,because it landed in front of him," Where did this tree come from?",he wondered.
He looked behind the tree and saw the huge monster,coming from the field.
He thought it was another demon bats hat came to fight.But soon realized who it was,when Reed said,"Didn't see that coming?I bet the punch I gave you the other time must have affected your sight","Reed",the prince mentioned his name in anger and disgust.
Reed removed the tree from Zipora's head,carried her,and cut off her head.
He set her body on fire,which burnt to ashes.
Then he said to his monsters,"Clean up all this mess.And yes...was anyone bitten by the serpents? "," A lot",the cyclops said.Reed nodded and said,"OK!.You know what to do ".
The monsters followed his orders immediately, and started cleaning up the mess.
Reed turned back to himself,and was about walking away,when he heard the Prince mention Deborah's name.
He paused and turned back to look.
The prince was rushing down,so that he could help Deborah," She must be injured badly",he said worriedly.
Deborah was unconscious. Her body was cold,and bleeding her had dried up.
She was lying near the tree,when a hand touched her neck,to check her temperature.
It was Reed.
He had gotten there first before the prince,in a flash.
He carried her up in his arms,from the ground,and stared at her face.
His mind went back to what she did for him earlier,and it made him smile.He made sure he was carrying her well,and began to walk,still looking at her innocent face.
The prince saw Reed with Deborah in his arms.He rushed towards him,and wanted to carry her away from him,"I'll do it",he said,about to carry her.
Quickly, Reed moved away from the prince,and gave him an unfriendly look,"You don't have to.Am carrying her already ",he said,and walked pass him.
Annoyed,the Prince turned to look at Reed,as he walked away with Deborah in his arms," Now he's looking for trouble.And I'll give it to him".
Inside the castle,Lucy was busy telling the other girls,a fake story,that never came true.
She was bragging about this and that,until she saw Reed,coming inside with Deborah in his arms.
Vehement, she decided to follow him,to find out why he was carrying Deborah.
Reed carried Deborah to his room,and laid her on the bed.
The whole girls,including Esther,rushed to see for themselves. "Deborah!", Esther was shocked, as she rushed to meet her.
She sat close to Deborah, looking worried.
Reed called a beast and asked for a rotten root.The beast brought it immediately, and handed it over to him.
He covered it with his hand,which glowed,and the rotten root turned into liquid.
He rubbed it on her wounds,gently and slowly, staring at her.
Reed couldn't help but stare at Deborah. He was admiring her beauty,while applying the liquid on her head slowly.
Lucy came in and saw Reed applying the liquid on Deborah. She grew angry and decided to act like a nice person,so as to gain his attention.
She began to cry,and rushed to Deborah," My sister!. What happened to you?!",she cried.
She sat close to Reed,nearing him very well,and touching Deborah, like she cared.
Reed soon realized that his room was crowded.He looked at all of them,and asked them to leave.
Quickly, they left without wasting time,except Esther and Lucy.
Esther was really worried about Deborah, and begged Reed to let her stay.
"Fine then. You can stay"," I also want to stay,she's my sister after all",Lucy said,planting on a sad face.
Reed didn't answer her,nor did he look at her.He just got up and turned to leave.
Esther sat very well to Deborah, holding her hands and saying,"Am here!,don't worry".
Reed was about to exit the room,when he heard what Esther said.It took his mind back to what happened and what she had said to him,while holding him in her arms.
He turned his head back a little, to look at Deborah,who seemed peaceful in her rest.
A curve appeared on the side of his lips,then he left.
Lucy began to regret ever acting nice to Deborah in front of Reed.Now she has to stay with her,till she's OK.
"I can't waste my precious time here.I'll have to come up with an excuse", she thought in her mind.
She stretched out her arms and yawned,dragging Esther's attention. Then she said to her," Pls don't mind,I have something to do.Its very very important "," You don't have to lie to me Drama queen.You're only here because Reed was here.Now that he's left,you want to run away",Esther exposed her in a snap.
Lucy scoffed and said,"At least you know why am here.So...",she stands up,"..I don't need to stay.Good luck Nanny ",she laughed at her and walks away.
" That girl needs to be thought a lesson",she said,still holding Deborah's hand.
