Chap 18

"Guys, the food is ready." Ysa came in and informed them. "Oh, hi, doc." She waved smiling at her.

"Hi, how's Isagani?" She's asking about her brother whom one of her patients before. He was discharge recently.

"Still trying to walk, doc. Thanks for the perfect operation you did. By the way, nanay is asking if you still want her pinakbet, just tell me and she'll cook for you." Wika pa nito.

Nanay is one term of mother in Filipino, just like mama too. Pinakbet is a dish where backyard vegetables are mixed. A shrimp paste can be added to, whatever that suit anyone's taste.

She suddenly swallowed. Recently she was always craving for that dish, it started when she smell it one time at Isagani's room, when she checked on him. They were all eating in there. And the family was so nice to ask him to join them, so she didn't hesitate because she was also planning to have some lunch after that. Plus, she wanted to taste the pinakbet and she loved it. Less the shrimp paste.

She walks with Ysa going in the dining. "Is there no pinakbet here?" She simple asked.

"It was not on the menu that doc Javier gave us. He just informed us that you'll be coming today. We thought you'll be here next week, or at least before Selena and boss Dustin's wedding. So, we rushed the preparation too. If I know you wanted that, then I should have asked nanay to cook it for you."

"It's okay Ysa, I was just asking. I also missed your mom's pinakbet, that's why."

"Don't worry doc. I'll tell nanay about that. I'm sure she will gladly cook for you."

"Isn't that too much for tita Sabel? I don't mind though."

"It's fine. Nanay was also thankful for you because you were so kind to them while they were in the hospital."

They sat in front of a bounty table full of seafood's. All of it was her favorite.

"Papa, why did they kill all the fish?" All eyes were on Anthony now. He's sitting between her and Javier again. "They have no mercy on them."

Everyone suddenly burst into laughter. While Javier just messed her son's hair.

"We cooked them because they are all bad, honey." Ysa suddenly told Anthony. "They became big because they eat the little worms. So, it's better for them to be cooked."

"They are all bad fish?"

"Not just the fish, but all of them here. They eat little worms too. And you know what? Bad fishes are more delicious, here, try it." Ysa pick a shrimp and put it in his mouth. "How is it?"

"Mmm, it's yummy." Anthony reacted with eyes open wide. "I like that."

"Do you want more?" Ysa asked smiling and Anthony nodded.
