Chap 03

JAVIER thought that Demitry will change after that night. But, instead, she became more aloof on him. He didn't saw her every day before, because they work in the different field, plus he's not a full time doctor in there. He still stayed in his clinic and sometimes taught in the University for Special Classes. But he still saw her in the corridor or in the hospital canteen, but now, he can't see her anywhere. He thought she's gone again but the nurses said she's still in the hospital. That's when he knew that she's hiding from him.

"Selena, what brought you here?" He saw the fiancée of his brother Dustin. The girl his brother had a problem with but they both fix it and now, they are getting married.

"Oh, hi, doc. I just visit someone here." Selena answered with a smile.

"I see. A patient? A friend? I thought you went back to Pampanga already?"

"I did. I came back to get the invitations Dustin made from his friends. I just came here to give something to my cousin. She's working here. She's the one I met, not a patient nor a friend."

He smiled at her sarcasm. "I see, so, who's your cousin?"

"Maybe you know her. She's Doctor Demitry Viola, she's an orthopedic surgeon here." Javier stopped walking so Selena followed and looked at him confused.

"She's your cousin?"

"Yes. So, you know her then? Anyway, she's kinda weird though. She seems to hate anyone with a surname of Redwood. But she's okay with Dustin. It's just weird that every time we met, she keeps on reminding me to be very careful, because all the Redwood doesn't want to be tied in marriage because they are never contented in one woman, just like their father. I don't know what she's up to but it's also weird how she knew about your dad's story."

Of course she knew about it because he told her about his family background himself. On how he found out about his half-siblings online too. But why is she saying those kinds of things right now? He can't remember anything he did to make her that furious and hateful for them.

"Anyway, she's just bitter because of her past. Plus, the image of the island where ne and Dustin met. So, don't worry, it's no big deal. Sorry, doc, I have to go. I have to meet Dustin for lunch."

"Sure. Go ahead. See you at island later, then." He gave her a hug to say goodbye and when he did, he saw a glance of Demitry looking at them with her eyebrow raised.

She smile at Selena and send her with his eyes and when she's gone he turn to face the woman but she's no longer there. He can't help but shook his head. She's always been like that, Javier can see her from a far but when he tried to approach her, she ran away or left or even hides from him.

He was about to leave the hospital because he's done visiting his patients, when he saw Ysa walking at the hallway, with Demitry. He knew she was the doctor of Ysa's brother so he decided to ignore them. But, he heard their conversation before they enter the cafeteria.

"All of those who had a blood of a Redwood are unfaithful. They will make you fall at first but at the end, they're just going to leave you broken. I know it sounds random but sooner or later, you'll gonna thank me for it. One more thing, a Redwood won't let their selves bind in marriage. They are not the type to let them tied with one woman. Just like their father."

"Doctor Viola!" He didn't stop himself for interrupting them now. She's too much already. Both of the women were surprised to see him and some people on the cafeteria were curious.

Ysa was the girlfriend of Oscar and also the assistant of Dustin in his company.

"Are you trying to badmouth us again?" Demitry seems to be shocked of his presence that made her shut up. "Ysa, where is Oscar?"

"He's at my brother's hospital room, doc. I just came here to buy some water." She answered.

"I see. Go ahead… and you. Ven conmigo. Come with me." He held her arm and dragged her out of the cafeteria and put of the hospital.

"Let go of me." Demitry tried to pull back her arm but he just grips it tighter, not letting her escapes again.

The nurses were confusedly watching them. He knew that it will be a start of a rumor between them again. They are curious on how he was dragging her while they never saw them together or even talk with each other before. But now he's doing that to her. Javier didn't care about them. He wanted to know what is wrong with this woman now.

He forced her to enter his car and didn't give him the chance to escape. He pressed the auto-lock of the car.

"Open the door. Open the door or I'll shout for kidnapping." She warned.

"No me importa. Sé mi invitado. I don't care. Be my guest." He said sternly. Demitry stopped and just look at him with fire in her eyes. He just raised his eyebrow on her to make her feel who's on the upper hand right now. "Qué te pasa, Demitry? What is wrong with you? First you warned Selena about Dustin and now Ysa? And who's next? When Kevin at Rafael have a girlfriend too?"

"Yes! And I will warn all those woman whom you will victimize with your sweet talk and gestures. What I said was the truth. You are not contented in just one woman. After you made them pregnant, you'll just leave them and dump them. Just like what your father did to your mothers."

"Eso es mentira! That's bullshit! Stop spitting nonsense, Demitry. We may not know why our old man did that but it's still not right to drag him in your little escapade. And where did yiu heard about us getting women pregnant and just left them? Nunca hicimos eso. We never did that."

Demitry seems surprised when he raised his voiced because she backed down, but still looked at her in bemused. Like she can't believe what she just heard. Then her face softens and now he's trying to read him.

Javier can still see through her, even after all those years. There are still things that didn't change in her, he believed.
