Redamancy - When It's Meant To Be

The stars are shining bright in the dark sky, cold and crisp air is making my watery eyes itchy. Standing on the cliff, both of us are breaking heavily. “What?! What did you just say?” he asked me “I said I can’t take this anymore,” I said as my voice broke. I wiped my tears, taking deep breaths. “You can’t take what anymore Ava?” he asked me while grinding his teeth in anger.

Chapter 28

After their photoshoot, Aiden and Grace went back to the resort while I and Liam took a taxi to my home.

"Are you nervous?" I asked him as I saw him wiping his palms on his pants while looking at the closed door.

"Yes, I am a little… nervous." He said with a weak smile.

"Why are you nervous? It's not like you are meeting my parents for the first time or something." I said with a chuckle.

"No, actually I am meeting them after I broke their daughter's heart. And I just don't want them to hate me…" he said looking down and feeling sad I immediately held his hand in mine, making him look at me.

"It's okay, they don't hate you." I said with a smile which he returned saying, "I hope so." And I pressed the doorbell.

The door was opened by my dad and as soon as he saw me, he hugged me. He just looked at Liam for a second before saying, "Come on in." and going inside the house.

"Are they here?" my mom asked from the kitchen to which my dad answered, "Yes"

"Hello, sweety." Mom hugged me and I replied, "Hey Mom." They both just kept looking at Liam so I hinted to him to talk first with my eyes and nodding his head he agreed.

"Hello Mr. and Mrs. Morgan, Thank you for inviting me here. How are you both?" he said with a small smile but my parents kept their straight faces.

"Mom, Dad, what's going on?" I asked about being sad for Liam as he was already nervous and my parents weren't helping.

After a few seconds, my dad went up to Liam and stared at him for a second before hugging him. And that was the moment where I was relaxed.

"How are you?" my dad asked him to which Liam replied, "Good" after dad my mom hugged him too.

"By the way, what was that? Before, why were you ignoring him?" I asked my dad.

"Because he ignored us for four long years, so we decided to ignore him for four minutes," Dad said looking at Liam.

Mom took Liam's hand in hers and said, "You don't contact Ava because of your fight but why don't you contact us? And what is this with Mrs. Morgan, call me what you used to be when you were a child. Call me Jena, Liam."

"I am so sorry Jena, that I didn't call you to come to meet you. But please forgive your son." Lima said and my mom hugged him shedding some tears.

"Okay darling, we can continue this later, right now I am hungry. You know Ava, your mom made some of your favorite dishes, Let's have our dinner." Dad said with a big smile and everyone laughed a little at his excitement.

Dinner went amazing, after our dinner we all went to our backyard and relaxed with our drinks. Liam and Dad were talking about football like they used to back then.

"Are you two back together?" mom asked me

"No," I said with a pout.

"Yeah," he said at the same time.

"What?" I asked, looking at him with wide eyes.

"You never asked me to be your girlfriend!" I continued.

He got up from his seat and kneeled in front of me. Taking my hand in his, he said, "Will you be my girlfriend, Ava Morgan?" he asked me with a smile.

"Yes," I answered and my mom and dad started laughing at us. Liam kissed my knuckles, before taking a seat beside me. We were happy, I was happy.

The night went by amazingly and almost at midnight Liam and I went back to the resort. Kissing goodbyes we went to our rooms. Tomorrow was a big day for my two best friends, Grace, and Aiden. I was more than happy and excited about their wedding.
