Chapter 68

My whole body felt like it was submerged in cold water, all I could think of is A'liu getting hurt.

Before she could reach the said destination, her mind calmed down and she finally regained her sanity.

She needed help, she cannot do this alone, and perhaps won't come out unscathed. It doesn't matter, she had experienced death so much she wouldn't flinch when it inflicted on her but not on her loved ones.

"Hello-"

"Help me, A'liu was abducted, I'll send you the address. Call the police, please" I begged Zhu Rong Heng, I don't want to waste any more time and sent him the address before hanging up.

With that, I finally reached the said destination, it was an abandoned factory in the countryside. I stepped out of my car and was immediately taken by two burly guys.

I didn't ask any questions nor acted like a timid person, I know that they wouldn't answer me or even get annoyed at my timidity. Crying wouldn't solve the problem, what I need is to be cool-headed and be rational at the moment.

They lead me inside the abandoned factory and there I saw A'liu sitting with a blank look in her eyes. She was like a statue, she didn't even react when she saw me, and worst, she was looking straight ahead with a dazed expression.

"What did you do to her?!" I couldn't help her asked, agitated from the look of A'liu.

Did she get drugged? Was she tormented so much that she becomes like that? I ran to her side and held her face, looking at her blank eyes in fear.

"A'liu, A'liu do you hear me? A'liu" I couldn't help but cry seeing her unresponsive state.

I shouldn't think that I have become free, even if the world cannot hold on to me anymore but it doesn't mean that the people I love doesn't.

Tears stained my shirt as sobs wracked my body, before I could ask another question I heard steps coming from behind me.

I turned back and saw a red stiletto and then looked up and saw a very familiar person. My mouth slackened and I couldn't help but blink in confusion.

Why is she here? Why the hell did she do this and how did she do this?

She's not supposed to be here no- she's not like that, she wouldn't do this. She wouldn't.

"You finally came" she smiled, her eyes soft and gentle but the cold glint contrast greatly on her outer appearance.

"W-Why?" I trembled in anger and shock, my eyes wide as if I couldn't believe the person standing in front of me.

"Why? I should be the one asking you that. Why? Why did you deviate from your fate?!" She won't out cruelly, her eyes burning in hostility as she gripped me by my chin and continued. "You should have stick to your role and this wouldn't have happened" she hissed as the pain from her sharp fingernails poked my chin.

I backed away from her, horrified at her words, and realized who she is.

"Y-you" I trembled, I'm starting to lose my breath as I continue to look at her familiar face.

That person whom I hate in the past and pitied later, the woman I thought was just like me, a puppet in this world.

Most of all, the woman who's supposed to be An Yi Wei's wife, Shaoyan.
