AN UNEXPECTED TWIST

"Am visiting the hospital today, you guys wanna come?". Johnny asked picking up his bag.

"Nah". They all chorused. "I totally hate the smell of hospitals and you know that" Benson added

"Why do you always visit the hospital anyways?". Jade asked looking at Johnny who was already on his way out of the basketball court.

"That's the only time he gets to be with his Daddy". One of the boys said mockingly and the others laughed. Johnny stopped and looked at them" Am not gonna deny that okay, cause that's infact one amongst many reasons why i go there all the time".

"So tell us Johnny,why do you always visit the hospital, because we are actually very curious right now, perhaps there is something you are not telling us". Johnny rolled his eyes."If you all are that curious to know, follow me and find out for yourselves then". Johnny strolled out of the building leaving them behind, they are free to think whatever they want to think,he simply don't care.

"Do you guys think Johnny is a strange guy". Phil stated

"I don't think he's weird at all, I'd rather say he's too pompous, always feeling like he is better than everyone".Milo said before letting out a long hiss.

Jenny opened her eyes gently and felt some pressure weighing heavily on her eyelids forcing her to blink multiple times,at first she began to feel groggy, dizzy and disoriented,so she tried to sit upright but felt weak,sore and an unexplainable pain in her left hand.She turned her head to the other side of the bed and noticed an intravenous catheter directly inserted into her vein,then a heart monitor machine making a beep sound after every second. A memory suddenly flashed before her eyes,she gasped as she recalled everything single that happened and wondered why she's still alive and well.Someone opened the door suddenly, causing her to jerk a little

"My pumpkin, you are finally awake". Adams threw his arm around her, immersing her completely in his warm embrace,so warm that she felt nothing but safe and protected,a tear fell from the side of her eye which she wasted no time in wipping it off. Adams prop both of her cheeks with his hands and examined her delicate face properly."Are you alright dear, does your wrist hurt,tell me and I'll get the doctor at once". Jenny smiled, fighting back her tears." Am fine Dad,it doesn't hurt very much".

"You scared the hell out of me pumpkin, please don't ever do that again". Jenny could not hold back the tears any longer instead she let them flow freely, though what she planned to do took an unexpected turn, at the end, she realized that she was only being selfish and inconsiderate, taking her own life would being devastating for her father and she doubted if he would have been able to live with it.

"Are you hungry,i can get you something delicious at the eatry, the hospital runs it,so i bet their food will be very healthy for you". Adams said standing up.

"Am not that hungry Dad, just stay with me please. Jenny said holding his hand tightly. "You have not had any solid food since yesterday, you should eat something okay".

"Am okay Dad, I'll eat later".

Johnny walked into the hospital and was surprised to see all the doctors and nurses running around nonstop, but his Dad was of course no where to be seen, it's quite obvious that an accident had just occurred and the victims were being wheeled inside on a stretcher one by one" Main reason why i don't like coming here, oh my gosh, this is gross". Johnny wanted to disappear from the scene,if only it were possible,so he decided to go to his father's personal office and wait for him there but when he got to his office, his dad was right there."Good evening dad".

"Hey kid, you came early today,no basketball practice hmm". Fredrick's eyes were firmly fixed on some papers scattered all over the table as he spoke.

"Just coming from there, I heard peters will be getting discharged today,i wanted to say goodbye to him, that's why am here early". Frederick glowered, he was confused, Johnny noticed"The little boy with autism, the one that broke his arm,remember?".

"oh yeah,you should get going then cause I just discharged him few minutes ago". Johnny stood up to leave but stopped midway"An accident occurred,am sure you are aware right?". Fredrick gave him a nod.

"So why aren't you out there, with the rest of the other doctors?".

"Because I am a senior doctor and this hospital has tons of other experienced doctors that can take care of accident victims".

Johnny shrugged and left, the children's ward wasn't far from his Dad's office, super easy to locate. peters room was first on the left side of the ward. He knocked on the door gently before opening it, they have already packed all their stuff and were ready to go."Hey Johnny, please come on in". Miller, peters mother said gesturing with her hand"Hello Ms Miller,i didn't know i would still find you both here, thought you'd be long gone". Johnny said moving closer to them, peters was very excited to see him."young Johnny".As he fondly calls him.

"Hey buddy, what's going on, how is your arm,all good now ,i see you are very excited to go home right?". Johnny said patting his head.

"He insisted that we should wait until you come to see him one last time". Ms Miller said smiling.

" Hey champ, don't worry okay, this isn't goodbye alright,i will get your house address and visit you from time to time, does that sound good?". Johnny asked waiting patiently for his answer. "Yes, thank you young Johnny".

"Thank you so much Johnny,for always stopping by to see us,we really appreciate it".

"It's alright Ms Miller,no need to thank me,i had so much fun with you guys and am really going to miss my little friend here".

"The Uber i ordered for is here already,i think we should take our leave now". Miller said looking at Johnny.

"Alright let me see you two off then, come on peters, it's time to go home".
