Angels never lie

Equinox was in a trance state for a minute, until someone bought her back into the reality.

"Excuse me... Are you okay?" Victor asked her with a concerned voice.

Equinox didn't said anything to that, because if she opened her mouth then Victor would surely recognise her voice and she don't want it to happen.

The memories of the past she recalled just now was not very fond. That's why she doesn't want to let Victor know about her true self.

If he found out then things would get more complicated than before. And most importantly, she was not ready to face him yet.

That's why she just nodded her head in response.

Victor knew that something was wrong with this girl. But still, he didn't asked her about it, because he knew that she was not going to tell him anything. That's why he quickly returned her phone back.

"Your phone fell on the ground at the museum. That's why I came here to return it to you." He stretched his hand to give her the phone and expected her to ask him some questions about it. But Equinox was silent. It felt like she was trying to control her emotions inside.

She went ahead and took her phone from his hand. But as their fingers touched with one other. Their hands started to feel some kind of electrical sensation and noticed it turning blue.

Equinox became petrified because the same thing happened to them before too.

She was scared thinking, what if Victor got a hint about her not being a human?

Victor didn't felt any pain from the electric current because he was not a human anymore and also he was now more experienced in the supernatural realm. That's why he got more suspicious of Equinox.

In the supernatural world, if an angel touched a demon's hand then they get an electric shock to alert themselves from any danger.

He didn't knew about it before, but as he grew older every century. He learned more about the law of the unnatural forces.

"Are you a de..." Before he could question her about it. He noticed Anastasia coming towards them in hurry.

"Oh my goodness, I am so happy you are safe." Anastasia gave Equinox a tight hug and smiled with relief. She then glanced at victor and thanked him. "Thank you so much uncle victor for helping me find her."

Equinox was taken aback when she heard Anastasia call him uncle. She kept staring at her in confusion.

"No, don't thank me. I didn't do anything." He again looked at Equinox suspiciously. "By the way, what is your friend's name?"

Anastasia chuckled. "Oh her? It's eq....." Before she could say, she noticed Equinox lightly shaking her head in no. She got the hint that Equinox didn't wanted her to reveal her identity. That's why she did as she said. "Her name is Erica. She is an old friend of mine."

"Looks like your friend don't talk too much." Victor still kept staring at Equinox because he knew something was wrong.

Anastasia didn't know what to say that's why she laughed awkwardly. "That's because.... She is mute." She said the first lie she thought about. "Erica had a terrible accident in her childhood which made her mute." She patted Equinox's shoulder and acted sad. "It was tuff. Right sis?"

Equinox didn't know how to react to this. What do mute people do in this kind of situation? She thought about it and in the end, just nodded to Anastasia's question.

After hearing this, Victor thought he might be wrong about this girl. Because he never saw any demon being mute. And if the girl is a demon then Anastasia might be lying. But why would she lie? An angel never lies.  That's why he trusted Anastasia in this.

"But anyway, We should go now. Her family might be looking for her. Right Eq..." She bitted her tongue and said again. "I mean Erica?"

Equinox smiled at this and turned around to leave.

After bidding farewell to victor. Anastasia also left with her.

"Hush..." Anastasia sighed with relief. "I hope he didn't caught my lie... I did a great job. Right Equinox?"

"Hmm..." Equinox kept walking ahead from her like she didn't heard anything she said.

Anastasia ran towards her and asked. "Hey! Are you okay? What happened to you? Why are you acting so gloomy?"

Equinox didn't replied to anything to her question and asked something in low voice. "Is there any washroom in this place?"

"There..." Anastasia quickly pointed to her left because of seeing Equinox's mood sudden change.

Without saying anything Equinox ran towards the left direction Anastasia pointed out and locked herself in the stall of the washroom.

Hot tears streamed down her face as she leaned on the door. She squeezed her eyelids shut in the hope her tears would stop. But it didn't stopped. Her heart felt heavy like she was pressurising some guilt inside her.

She didn't wanted to cry but the memories made her feel terrible about herself. It was her fault. Because of her many people died that time. Who knew that one single mistake can ruin many people's lives?

Her choppy breathing and watery eyes remained quite for some time, and she stood there unmovingly.

Equinox was happy seeing Victor alive. Because she thought he died with others too. She prayed that Hopefully, he don't still blame her for it. If he do then she don't know how her heart is going to handle it.

She washed her teary face and calmed down a bit.

She re-touched her face properly and went outside acting as nothing happened.

When Equinox came outside, she saw Anastasia talking with a man who she knew was Ezen. That's why she didn't reacted.

Ezen crossed his arms and got very impatient. "Why the hell is she taking so long?" He quickly turned around and met with an unfamiliar face staring at him.

"Let's go guys," Equinox said with a cold tone.

Anastasia also got ready to leave but her eyes fell on Ezen who was gazing at Equinox while being confused.

She hitted his arm and explained. "That's Equinox. Let's go..." She held his hands to leave but he stopped her.

"No... I know that my mind was blank for years. But that doesn't mean I forgot Equinox's face. She is not my sister." He said while looking at her newfound face by being weirded out.

Equinox yawned while staring at them and in the end disappeared from their sight. She was already mad at Ezen. But now she had no energy to explain everything to him. That's why she teleported herself back into the mansion.

"How rude! Did she just leave like that?" Ezen said while pointing in her direction and staring at Anastasia.

Anastasia gave a small chuckle and spoke. "If I was in her place then I would also disappear like that..." She tilted her head. "Come on Ezen, I already told you she changed her face."

"When?"

Anastasia sighed. "You didn't listened to my talks when we were coming here. Right?"

"You were boring me. What do you expect?" He didn't gave attention to it because Anastasia was talking nonstop about useless things. Otherwise mostly, he is very attentive to what other people say.

Anastasia: "Boring stuff? I was just talking about the current world. And you found it boring?"

"I am sorry for that. My sister was lost that's why I didn't listened to your talks about how Will Smith slapped Chris Rock. I don't even know who these people are. Why should I listen about them?" He now became annoyed.

Anastasia patted his shoulder while consoling him. "You are missing out on a lot of things. You should notice the world around you sometimes if you have chance."

"I don't know about the world but I noticed one thing." He glanced at Anastasia. "Whenever we meet, why do we always fight? In your past life, Was I your enemy?"

"If I had a past life and I would have met you then I am sure that time also you did something first to start the argument."

"Why would I do that without any reason?" Ezen kept walking. "And you know what is weird? How can you believe in the past life and all the other supernatural stuff when you are studying science? Most doctors don't believe in this kind of stuff nowadays."

Anastasia chuckled. "Trust me, I would have also not believed in this thing but what can I do? My life is like a horror movie. From a young age, I was able to see many ghosts, demons, angels and other creatures. That's why I had no choice but to believe in it."

While thinking about their talks she suddenly remembered something. "And yeah... Speaking of something weird... Equinox was acting very weird before."

Ezen stopped walking and became stunned. "What do you mean?"

"I don't know, she was feeling very off after we met uncle Vi..." She stopped before she could say his name.

Ezen became more curious. "Who?"

Anastasia shook her head. "You don't know him... I can't tell you..."

"Was it Victor Dalton?" His eyes slowly turned yellow as he spoke his name.

Anastasia didn't saw his demonic face that's why she got more surprised. "You know him too?"

"Yeah..." He greeted his teeth. "Very well."

"I knew it. The situation before was very bizarre. They looked like they already knew each other. But they hided something in their eyes." She looked at Ezen. "They have a past connection?"

Ezen didn't replied. "Let's go... We need to leave." He held her hand to teleport but Anastasia stopped him.

"I can just go home from here..."

"No.. you need to come with me to the mansion. I want to talk with you about an important matter."

Looking at his serious face. Anastasia nodded. "Alright.." and quickly they teleported back in the mansion.
