He rubbed his eyes and pinched himself to discern if it was a dream. The creature continued in a majestic voice, "The day this tome is opened anew will herald doomsday, the apocalypse, and the world's end. Even you, its author, have never perused it in its entirety. The day this book is opened again will seal my fate. My master has bestowed upon you the solemn duty of safeguarding this volume. Let none lay eyes upon its contents."
"Who is this master of yours who failed to secure this book and entrusted it to a fool like me?"
"To know my master is to know your final day; it is akin to a sentence of eternal torment. The day this book is opened will be the day you meet him."
In a flash, like a lightning bolt, he vanished. As his presence faded, everything grew calm once more. Recalling the events, the man swiftly grabbed the book and hurried toward an ancient well.
The well plunged 3,000 feet into the earth, concealing a secret chamber at its depths. The man descended into the well, following the spiral staircase that led to the hidden room below.
With trembling hands, he fumbled for the key and carefully placed the book into a hidden vault, securing it away from prying eyes.
Climbing out of the well, he began to ponder, How on earth am I supposed to seal this well?
Just as the thought crossed his mind, that creepy creature appeared out of nowhere and sealed the well shut. The cover was a massive slab of metal, so heavy it would take hundreds of men to lift it. With a final, eerie glance, the creature vanished once more, leaving no trace behind.
He heaved a sigh of relief and turned to return to his peaceful sleep, but his eyes suddenly widened in shock at the sight of a teenage boy standing before him.
"I've seen everything, Dad, and I must read that book! I'm going to become the most powerful magician in the world,"
the boy declared with fierce determination. In a desperate attempt to capture and detain him, the man lunged forward—only to stumble and fall.
Realizing his father's fall, the boy bolted, fleeing into the night before his father could recover.
"JAaaaaaafar!!!!"
