18. Skye and Ward

"*sigh* I won't believe Ward but as you said I will trust you, so tell me what do u have to do Fitz" Skye stated

"I just need... you to t-talk him into ge-getting a brain scan" stated Fitz

"So I have to tell him to get a brain scan that's it for now," Skye said

"Y-yes, after... the brain s-scan I will know... how to approach him" replied Fitz

"Fine I will go right now," Skye said only to be stopped by Coulson.

"No wait for Skye," Coulson said getting up from his seat, "Talk to him at night we will take him to the bus to get the brain scan, I don't want others to see him. Ward doesn't have many fans of his here and until Fitz proves his theory let's not get the others involved"

"That's fine with me, I will go back and help May and Trip then," said Skye to which Coulson nodded his head and let her go.

"I-I will go back to the... lab then and see if there's anything else to check upon" Fitz stated and walked out of the room.

In the common room, when Skye came back she saw that May and Trip were already going through a list of Sunil Bakshi's after separating in different categories. Skye joined them in the hope to make a profile for the Sunil Bakshi they want.

In the nighttime, Skye joined Fitz and Coulson outside the vault D. Fitz looked especially excited about it, as the expression on his face was clearly visible to the two. It had been a long time since they had seen him this excited for any experiment. They just hoped that he wouldn't be crushed after finding out that Ward isn't mind-controlled.

Entering Vault D the 3 of them descended the stairs and walked in front of the Inertial Confinement Laser Barrier.

Fitz changed the barrier to transparent and the soundproof was changed to normal settings.

Ward was laying down on his bed since it was nighttime he had already done his training for the day and was trying to sleep but he sensed 3 people entering Vault D through his passive Observation Haki, two he already knew were Fitz and Coulson the third person was the unknown to him, Ward knew it's none other than Skye as Coulson won't bring anyone else to meet him as it wouldn't be useful. He already knew that Jemma had gone undercover and joined Whitehall's HYDRA organization so it only left Skye here if they wanted to collect information from him.

Ward didn't think that Skye was here to take him to get a brain scan after all Coulson wasn't the type to force Skye to do that when even he didn't trust the theory and even for Fitz it would take him some time to convince Skye.

The moment Fitz turned the barrier transparent, Ward opened his eyes seeing which Coulson narrowed his eyes, he has been observing Ward, and whenever they come to meet him no matter what he is doing he funds out when someone has come to meet him even though the barrier is soundproof and Opaque. The moment they turn it transparent, he would open his eyes if they were closed or stare in the direction they stand as if already knew about. It has started to get on Coulson's nerves.

"So I see you couldn't find much about the name I gave you and finally decided to bring her," Grant said as he sat on his bed while looking at them

"We are not here for that Ward" Coulson stated though he wouldn't mind if he got the information on Sunil Bakshi since his team couldn't really find the person they were looking for.

"Sure, I will just apologize to Skye then and you can ask whatever you want to know," Grant said as he stood up and walked right up to his side of the barrier and said, "Skye, I am sorry for hurting you and betraying your trust"

"Ha... it that it, you think your apology could make up for the crimes you have committed," Skye said as she looked at Ward with clear disgust in her eyes.

"What's with the disgust? I am not asking you to forgive that was just me apologizing to you that's all, I know about my crimes and I am willing to pay for them that's why I am here," Grant said

"You-"

"Skye... let it go we-we aren't here for that," said Fitz clasping on her shoulder

"Yeah, you are right," Skye said nodding her head then turned back to look at Ward who was staring right at her, "We are taking you to get a brain scan Ward, and you will follow Fitz if you want to meet me again"

"Huh! Even you Skye, I never thought you would believe in Fitz's theory there is no way that I was brainwashed, believe me, if it was true I would have done everything to make you believe me but whatever I did good or bad it was all me" stated Grant clearly trying to mask his surprise.

"I know that already Ward but this is something Fitz wants to do and after what you did you him, you owe him to follow him so that he can do his experiment," Skye said

"*sigh* Fine, but let me tell you, Fitz don't get your hopes up you will only get hurt in the end" Grant warned him as he stepped back to let Skye and Coulson enough room to take their ICER's and point at him.

"I don't need hope Ward, I have science," said Fitz as he brought the barrier down, Skye became tense and held her ICER gun tightly ready to fire the moment Ward's make any rash movement.

As he stepped out of his prison Ward looked behind him while he patted himself on his back in his mind while thinking 'It only took me a month to get out of my prison even though not fully free from it at least I get to see the playground with my own eyes'

"What are we waiting for let's go? I don't know where we have to go so one of you have to least point me in the direction I have to walk"
