'System, please tell me that my current gender has nothing to do with you!' Ashley screamed and rolled on the floor while hissing in fury.

'So I'm just unlucky, I'm just unlucky!' He mentally cursed his system for telling him the actual reason why, he was just plain unlucky.

'Fine, fine, next time I won't claim the package then...'

He looked around and then frowned.

'Where is my Divine Pill?' He slithered around, covering a meter a second but failed to find his pill.

<Ding. Pill is in system's inventory, say inventory to access the function.>

'Oh, thank heavens, otherwise I'd scream that you cheated me...'

Ashley said inventory and saw a screen pop up in front of him.

Ashley was about to ask the system how to take the items out when a screen popped up saying, 'Imagine reaching into a bag and taking the object out.'

Ashley imagined taking the Divine Intelligence Pill out when a pill the size of a marble fell from two feet above the ground and landed with a cracking sound.

<Ding. System forgot to mention to host that the Divine Intelligence Pill is exceedingly fragile, and the slightest touch can break it.>

Ashley: '...'

System: <...>

'System, fuck you.' Ashley rolled his eyes and slithered over to the pill and swallowed half of the sweet smelling casing when Momma Snake slithered over and bit the other half of the pill into powder.

The powder exploded in Momma Snake's mouth, and the residue blew around the cave.

The other snakes went still and lay flat out like dead snakes while their mental capacities increased to that of a human's.

'Momma Snake: 'Daughter? What was that pill, I had intelligence before, but that was just because my soul was more developed than normal because of my cultivation...'

Ashley: '..?'

'Um, snake lady, you stole my pill, so if you let me live, I'll call us even.' Ashley said not entirely sure how he knew the snake was female, but he just felt it.

<Ding. Host has found a mission.>

'You know what, fuck you system, and fuck your bullshit mission as well!'

'I'm never gonna float for another eternity again!' Ashley mentally screamed causing Momma Snake to twitch.

'My child, please lower your voice, we can all hear you clearly without you yelling.'

The smaller snakes slithered over whilst saying something about a pretty big sis causing Ashley to frown.

'Weren't animals supposed to be unable to communicate with each other, why can I hear them now when I couldn't hear them before?'

<Ding. Host's siblings and parent has ingested some of the Divine Intelligence Pill causing them to grow far more intelligent.>

'So basically, they all stole my Pill?' Ashley shook himself awake and looked at the crystal snakes with animosity in his eyes.

<Ding. Host has no need for the Pill as host's soul was tempered in the skies above the earth.>

'But it tasted really good!' Imaginary tears formed on his eyes as he thought about the taste of the pill.

It was impossible to describe, his favorite foods became dry and bland when compared, and when he ingested it, his brain tingled.

It was such a pleasant feeling.

Ashley sighed and looked at his new family, etching their faces into his mind.
