Chapter 5

WRITER'S POV

"You again!" He looked surprised.

"We need to leave now." Rowena said, rushing to the other part of the car and getting in.

Jaden wondered why this coffee lady was stalking him, but with the intensity in her voice, he felt that something was really wrong. For some reason, he believed her. 

As he got in, he began driving. His mom was buried in a small church cemetery in Roseville. So the drive to the main town takes about an hour or so. 

They were driving in silence, and Jaden was a bit confused about everything. He immediately put the car to a halt.

"Why'd you stop?" She asked nicely. He cursed himself for not even thinking, "What if this lady was some serial killer?"

Rowena knew that he had a lot of questions, but this wasn't the time to answer them.

"Who the hell are you really?"..and why did you follow me all the way from town to Roseville? Are you stalking me?"

"Eu.. Jaden, I understand that you need answers, but now is really not the time for..."

"Wait, how did you know my name?" He inquired.

Jaden wasn't having it. It was suspicious how this coffee lady was always everywhere, even in his most recent dreams. which he was scared to admit.

"You either answer or leave my car!" He yelled.

"Jeez, fine!" "You are in trouble and I think I can help you."

"What do you mean.. by I am in trouble?" Jaden asked, a bit confused.

Rowena wondered how she was going to tell him. She didn't know how to do it or where to start from.

"You are a wizard. I'm not sure, but I'm very sure you're ..um...reincarnated." She gave a pause, waiting for his reply.

At first, Jaden looked shocked, but in a second he burst into a loud mocking laughter.

"Reincarnated, you say?" It was really funny for him. He couldn't contain his laughter.

Rowena, however, expected more, so she just waited till he was done.

"Remember the night when the brothers of Zed tried to assassinate you?"

"What kind of brother?"

Rowena face slapped herself. "There really isn't much time for..." Just then, the windscreen behind the car broke to pieces, making them bend down for safety.

"What the hell is happening!?' Jaden asked, as the impact was too loud. The street they were on was lonely, and they couldn't ask for help.

"Get out of the car!" Rowena yelled, tying her hair in a bun.

"What do you mean, get out? We should be escaping.

"If the car is destroyed, how would you escape in it? You know, the previous you weren't this much of a pain in the ass "

She rushed to open his door, and she immediately kicked him out.

Jaden collapsed and raised his head to see a woman with purple and white streaked Bob cut hair and purple lips.She wore a leather suit and a cape, all in black. She had long finger nails that were painted black. He could see her well because, apparently, she was waiting for him to stand up.

"Well, well, the reincarnated Prince Jaden," the woman said in a high-pitched voice.

Rowena wasn't sure if her powers were still there; she hadn't used them in a long while. She rushed to pick Jaden up from the ground. 

"Wow, I see you have brought a companion," the lady with purple streaked hair spoke...she was floating on air. as her feet landed on the ground. She smiled.

"I was thinking you would put up a fight..." I hate a boring death. "If you are indeed the son of the strongest witches and wizards of the times, you should make me shiver," she giggled.

"You talk a lot," Rowena said, looking at her.

"I wasn't intending to...I expected action!" The witch replied.

Rowena stood in front of Jaden.

"If anyone wants to kill him, they have to get to me first!"

Jaden looked confused. What is wrong with this coffee lady? He asked himself.

"Gwendolyn," "Gwendolyn, right?" Rowena asked, staring at her in disgust. 

"How do you know my name?" asked Gwendolyn, the purple-streaked witch, looking surprised for a second.

"Well it doesn't matter...let's end this thing."

Her hands began to form a ball of fire which she aimed at them.

Rowena swiftly dodged it as she pushed Jaden aside too. 

Jaden didn't know what he was feeling; an instinct arose; he wanted to defend himself; he wanted to defend his coffee shop lady; a wave rushed through him.Flashes of that night came to his mind. He had thought the night was a dream. Gwendolyn threw more fireballs at Rowena.

Immediately activating her powers, Rowena created a golden shield to protect herself, but the shield went off, making one of the fireballs hit her, the impact sending her falling to the ground. 

Jaden got enraged, and a certain powerful energy emerged from his hands.

He was surprised and began throwing them at Gwendolyn, who dodged them swiftly.

"You underestimate me, Prince Jaden." She chuckled loudly and created a certain energy that hit Jaden so hard he smashed his head on a rock as he fell.

Rowena couldn't stand seeing her love in pain...lying there on the ground bleeding. Her anger grew. Suddenly, a bright golden light shone around her and she stood up from the ground, immediately levitating. Gwendolyn looked extremely taken aback. The aura emanating from Rowena was different. It wasn't too strong, but it was really different. 

Rowena's blue eyes shone brightly. It was just too bright.

"You are not a witch..." you "you"

Gwendolyn began to shutter...it was like her powers had frozen at the sight of Rowena's power grandur. Weak and wrecked, Jaden lay on the rock looking at her. He too couldn't ignore the light. He wondered if he was dreaming..his coffee shop lady was glowing like the sun.

Rowena lifted Gwendolyn up, and it was like some unseen hand had lifted her up from the ground. Gwendolyn couldn't move, and she seemed to be choking. Rowena commanded her.

"Go back to who ever sent you." You can never kill Prince Jaden, no matter how hard you try. You will have to pass through me first!"

With that, she sent Gwendolyn tumbling hard on the ground. Scrambling to her feet, Gwen disappeared immediately. Rowena calmed her power down and rushed to Jaden's side. He was bleeding. She didn't know what to do; she was weak, and her younger sister was the only one who could perform healing spells. As she tried to lift him up to take him to the car, she immediately realized that the wound was healing by itself. Immediately, it closed up. She was surprised.

Her body started to give in and she fell to the ground beside him.
