CHAPTER START---

Sitting in an empty classroom Jin can be seen at the back of the last row on the highest step reading a book. As he is turning the page his first classmate enters, Sasuke Uchiha.

"Good morning," Jin greets the Uchiha.

Sasuke wordlessly takes a seat in the row in front of Jin as he proceeds to ignore him.

'Yeah killing this bitch, after he deals with Itachi for me at least,' He thinks as he considers his future.

Eventually, the class is almost filled. Naruto ends up sitting next to Sasuke as Jin expected, he was pleasantly surprised with Shikamaru beside him and the rest of the InoShikaCho trio sitting at the desk in front of him. As he takes in the class he can't help but think. 'Yeah this is bullshit, academy classes are set by your entrance scores. No way in hell did Naruto get high enough to be placed with me or in a class full of clan heirs, Hiruzen is playing games already.' he thinks just before Iruka walks in.

"Goodmorning class, I'll be your teacher from today. My name is Iruka." The man says in an excited tone.

"NICE TO MEET YOU SENSEI!" the entire class responds as well, bringing a smile to Iruka's face.

"Alright, if you have already made it this far then you know what this academy is for. You've already taken your oaths to protect Konoha, now you will begin developing the skills to do just that. By the time you're done in this academy you are expected to be able to do at least this."

Quickly Iruka made a few hand seals and *Poof*, a second Iruka appears in a cloud of smoke.

Whilst some of the kids were amazed the clan kids weren't surprised at all. Jin was completely amazed however but not for the reason the others were.

To his eyes, every hand seal Iruka made caused his chakra to change slightly and build upon itself. The moment he released it the jutsu then took effect. This was the first time he has ever seen any ninjutsu so he was a bit surprised he could do this. He decided to do something bold.

He immediately raised his hand. Seeing this Iruka happily pointed at him. "Yes, do you have a question?"

"Um, could you make the seals slower for us to see please?" he awkwardly asks, unsure how the man will react.

"Uh, sure, eventually you'll have the chance to learn this but I don't mind repeating the demonstration. Watch carefully this time." Iruka instructs as he takes a few steps closer for Jin to see.

To his surprise, as Iruka moved through the hand seals Jin began to lean forward. Shikamaru noticed however that Jin's hands were copying the hand seals under the desk and became a bit intrigued by what he was doing. As Iruka finished the last seal, a puff of smoke appeared, the same thing happened next to Jin.

To say everyone was shocked would be an absurd understatement.

"HOW DID YOU DO THAT?!" Iruka immediately asked.

The clone stood behind Jin, completely unmoving.

"I, I felt your chakra moving when you did the seals, I asked you to repeat it so I could copy them. Um, sorry?" Jin explained nervously.

"You can already control your chakra at least like a genin, and you don't seem tired. But you say you 'Copied' my hands, Sharingan?" Iruka asked, the last part of his question causing the entire class to stare at Jin, especially the previously uninterested Sasuke who was now glaring at him.

'This dumbass really just had to say that,' Jin thought as he raised his hand to lift his blindfold.

To this point not even Naruto has ever seen his eyes, they only knew that light hurts his eyes.

As he lifts his blindfold everyone's anticipation was peaked causing them to crane their necks to see.

As the cloth was moved, 2 light brown eyes could be seen squinting as if the light was really bothering him. He completely lacked the pure black eyes Sharingan users have.

"Sorry to disappoint, I wear the blindfold because light hurts my eyes. I can sense the changes in your chakra caused by the seals so I just had to match them and the seal to copy you. No Sharingan needed for me hehe."

He lied so naturally that when added to the information the academy already has and seeing his brown eyes nobody doubted him, little did they know he deactivated his Rinnegan before lifting his blindfold.

"That's, damn. That's really impressive, I don't know anyone that can copy jutsu without the Sharingan, you're Jin Satsujin right?" Iruka asked in some disbelief.

"Yes that's me, future Hokage Jin Satsujin," he stated in an extremely matter-of-fact manner.

"I'll be expecting good things from you then Jin, alright everyone now let's get the basic academics out of the way before we go onto shinobi training alright."

And just like that, Jin discovered something he had never even considered doing with the Rinnegan, as well as garnering the attention of his classmates and potentially some of his teachers.

---Later that night...

On the roof of the orphanage, Jin can be seen sitting with a book open in front of him.

"Ok let's try Rat Seal," Jin says as he makes the hand seal and allows his chakra to move on its own.

As he focuses on his own body, he can feel the seal taking effect and flaring his chakra. As he changes his hand to the Tiger seal, his chakra becomes more sporadic and wild.

"Ok, so these things actually have a purpose, every seal changes the chakra to prepare for the next seal until the final one, now I get why people use these things."

Jin proceeds to practice every seal for the rest of the night.

---2nd Year of Academy...

Standing outside everyone had a Kunai in their hand as they looked out at the targets on the range.

"Today all you have to do is hit the target once, your basic ninja skills begin this year so remember to always do your best."

As everyone took turns hitting the target.

As Sasuke threw his last kunai, almost all of them hit the center of the target, his fangirls cheered him on and were promptly ignored. As the girls cheered he quietly walked to collect his kunai before rejoining the line.

As Jin got up to throw his kunai, unsurprisingly, all eyes are on him. Many people were curious about how he would do. Using his knowledge from his previous life the simple subjects taught in the academy were meanless to him which allows him to spend all his time practicing his ninja skills. Standing at the top of the class before, now people are curious if he will hold his spot in ninja skills.

As Jin holds the first kunai, he takes a deep breath before throwing it. With a flick of his wrist, the kunai hit the middle of the target. With a smile on his face, Jin takes the other 3 kunai and repeats the same action. On the final Kunai, however, he decides to have some fun, as he flicks his wrist he uses a small pulse of force to propel the kunai with much more force than before. To everyone else's surprise, the kunai buries itself in the target before lodging itself into the wall behind it.

"Mmm, sorry about the wall sensei," Jin says as he does a deep bow and moving to collect his kunai.

Everyone looked on with shocked expressions as none of them expected this. Their minds racing as they tried to understand what they just saw.

"HOW'D YOU DO THAT?!" Naruto yells out to Jin, barely containing his excitement.

"Oh, I just. I felt my chakra move and I let it flow." Jin says in a monotone voice before returning to the line, completely ignoring the glare he got from Sasuke and his fangirls.

As everyone continued the exam, even Jin was a bit surprised at how bad Naruto was. 'This is the guy that was supposed to be Hokage, thank god I'm here now' he thought to himself as he watched the rest of the class.

Eventually, after shurikenjutsu practice, they moved to a small ring in the dirt found in the middle of the Yard.

"Alright everyone gather round, this is where you'll be learning taijutsu. you won't be starting until you learn the academy kata so don't worry about this just yet." Iruka said as he kept the class going.

This was how the main events for the first day of ninja training ended. And the small embers of a rivalry were formed.
