Lost all right

she spoke out.

"I-i'm sorry.."

She said as she broke down in tears, meanwhile, Rowen just sat there staring at the woman who had broken his heart into nothing but pieces.

"I-i'm so sorry Rowen… I'm sorry for everything that I had done to you, for always misunderstanding and treating you badly.. both you and T-tar-"

"Bang" he hit his desk.

"DON'T MENTION HER NAME!"

He shouted, as he stared at her, his eyes red in anger as she saw his boiling anger through his glasses.

Leaving his chair, Rowen immediately walked towards Vanessa as he pressed his hands hard on the chair in which she was seated.

"Let me make it very clear to you," he said hoarsely, "Tara is my daughter and you lost all your rights to her the moment you signed those divorce papers so don't you dare say her name… do you understand me?"

Taking hold of his hands, Vanessa didn't hesitate, "I'm really sorry for everything, please forgive me.. I want to go back, please.."

She cried out that instead a smirk appeared on his lips, "Is this your new plan?"

"Huh?"

"I get it now, Erin must have asked you to do this right? After all, you can't plan my downfall if you're no longer near me right?" Rowen said as he laughed, pain obviously visible in his eyes.

And seeing this, Vanessa felt heartbroken, she never knew she broke him so hard.

Unknown to her that her hands were already on his soft white cheeks. Both she and Rowen paused for a brief second as they processed what had just happened.

This was her first time touching him willingly with feelings attached and this is his first time feeling the warmth of her soft hands.

Pushing the chair away, Rowen stood straight as he shouted Out George's name and he immediately stepped into the office.

"Yes master?"

"Escort Miss Owen back home!" He stated as he turned around and faced the window just beside him and with the instructions laid out, George nodded and walked towards Vanessa.

"This way Miss," he was polite and calm as usual as Vanessa just stood up and stared at her ex-husband's broad back.

"I will not give up until you have forgiven me for everything Rowen, I promise."

And with that, she followed George as they left the office and headed straight to the Owen Mansion.

Seeing the car drive away from the company, Rowen then took his seat as he placed his hands softly on his cheek. The cheek which her soft hands had caressed.

"What is wrong with you Rowen, why did you let such a woman take control over your emotions.. why?" He shouted as he punched the table hard causing him to bleed slightly.

In less than an hour, George reached the Owen Mansion and opened the door for her to exit.

"I'll take my leave now Miss," he said as he bowed slightly ready to leave but he was stopped mid way.

"Mr. George?"

"Yes Miss?"

"How is Rowen's schedule for thses week?" She asked softly as her body was frail and weak. Holding on to the little cloth wrapped around her. She seemed quite pitiful.

George had never seen this part of her before after all these years of knowing her..this was the first time she actually looked 'innocent and elegant'

"P-please tell me (cough)." she let ou a slight cough as George then brought out his handkerchief and gave it to her.

"The Miss needs a warm bath, please head in so you won't catch a cold and concerning the boss.. this week he will remain at the company. I hope the Miss is satisfied with my words."

And with that, he bowed once more as he turned around and left.

With him gone, Vanessa then made her way into the Mansion.

It was late so her family must be asleep but unfortunately for her, her mom was still wide awake.. awaiting her return.

"You finally decide to come home!" Linda says as she walks towards her daughter with a stern look.

Awaiting another slap, Vanessa was taken aback when her mom hugged her instead.

"M-mom?"

Pulling away, Linda asked, "What? Can't a mother hug her daughter again? I'm sorry I hit you.. I was just very angry, I really thought he had ended things with Rowen but seeing as he had sent George to drop you off.. you guys must still be good."

She said as she smiled warmly. Taking Vanessa's hands, she sat her down as she narrated, "You know well that we need the Quinn family on our side if you want us to keep on being one of the rich families in Graceland. Rowen always got us the best contract deals and made our company grow, without him I don't know.. sigh!"

"Just keep being a good wife and don't cause any trouble, okay?" Linda smiled as he stroked Vanessa's hair gently. Obviously having a different personality as she had in the morning.

The next few days, Vanessa kept on showing at the Owen's enterprises but this time around she had proper clothes on.

She kept on staying till very late at night yet Rowen had refused to meet with her and like always, he would send for George to take her back home.

It continued to happen for a week straight and finally she had it with him.

If she couldn't meet with him like this, then she would have to find other ways.

But before then, she had to meet up with someone first. She had to meet up with her daughter, 'Tara'
