Chapter 4

A few weeks ago.

The imperial family is having dinner together, which is a rare occurrence because everyone is usually busy. Augustus couldn't help but notice his parents sneaking glances at him while he was eating. He sighed and looked at them, asking, "Is there something wrong?"

His parents stiffened when they realized Augustus had caught them staring at him.

"You tell him," the Emperor, Philip, said, nudging his mother slightly.

"You tell him, you're the one who did it," the Empress, Isabella, replied.

"Tell me what?" Augustus couldn't help but ask.

"Well..." the Emperor said, glancing at his wife, who remained silent. He didn't know how to say what he was about to say.

"They found a Beta compatible with you by ninety percent," Alice, the first child, and heir to the throne, decided to speak to assist their father.

Augustus was not surprised; he is sixteen years old and lacks a pair. This isn't the first time his parents have tried to find him a partner, but it is the first time they have found someone who is ninety percent compatible with him.

"Are you sure it's a Beta?" he asked, just to be sure.

"Yes, we are certain they are Beta," his mother sighed, "but your father and I still don't understand why you want a Beta; you could have chosen an Alpha or an Omega, both of which would be better than a Beta."

"I don't need to talk about my preferences," he replied, and his mother huffed; it wasn't a matter of offspring; an elite can impregnate any gender or sub-gender. Although the results may vary depending on the compatibility.

"So, who is it?" he asked his parents.

"The Davis family's son," the Emperor replied.

"Didn't Mr. and Mrs. Davis disown their son when his secondary gender was revealed to be a Beta?" Alice inquired.

"They did?" the Emperor asked, rubbing his temples. "I already met with them and secretly planned for him and Augustus to meet on the vacation planet Earth in two weeks," he explained.

"The Empire's Emperor is an idiot," sighed the Empress.

"It doesn't matter now," Alice said, "Father's foolishness wouldn't get us anywhere." Everyone nodded in agreement. With his wife and son's agreement to Alice's statement, the Emperor felt like he was pierced by a sword.

"You know Ace would agree with me if he was here," he said, folding his arms.

"That's because, even though he's your son, you two came from the same pod. Also, put down your hands and finish your meal "said the Empress.

That night,

"Jessica, I need you to find some information on the Davis family, every single one of them," Augustus told his assistant, Jessica Morrie, through his holopad.

"Of course, Young Master Augustus," Jessica replies. "I'll have the information you need in thirty minutes."

Augustus hung up the call and waited patiently.

Jessica sent him the information on the Davis family. The Davis family consists of Henry Davis, who is one of the most powerful businessmen in the empire, and his wife, Evelyn Davis, who is a head scientist who works in the royal laboratory, she was in charge of a mysterious project the royal labs suddenly stopped for some reason thanks to the interference of his best friend's family, and their son, Phoenix Davis, who is a year older than he is, he was disowned a few years ago, but he is suddenly back in the family.

It's a shame his father agreed for all of them to meet the Davis family in two weeks. Hopefully, this goes well.

Two weeks later...

"Hurry up Augustus!" Alice said. "It's not every day we have an excuse to Earth for vacation!" she said excitedly.

Augustus rolls his eyes at his sister's excitement. "Just don't trip," he said.

They boarded the spaceship carrying them to Earth.

"How long does it take for us to get there?" Augustus asked, looking at his holopad.

"About an hour or so," his mother replies.

"Alright," Augustus said.

Alice shoves herself into him and asked. "What are you doing?"

Augustus glares at his sister coldly but she ignores it. "Don't look at me that way," she said jokingly. "I taught you how to look at people like that, it won't work on me."

Augustus then sighed. "I'm working right now," he said.

"Right," Alice said. "Mr. Businessman must earn money," she said in a mocking voice. "Mum!" she shouted.

"Augustus, put down your holopad and come and play games with your father and me!" Isabella said.

Augustus sighed out of frustration. Disobeying his mother is a bad idea, especially with the fact that they are on a spaceship. "I should have boarded another space ship he murmured as he stands up from his seat and walks to his parents with Alice.

"Just give it up my beautiful daughter, there's no way you are beating me!" Isabella said while laughing evilly.

Philip sweats in distress. "Alice, what is the plan to beat your mother and brother?" the king asks his daughter who is on his side of the game.

Unfortunately, Alice wasn't listening and was becoming angry at Augustus. "You think you are better than me in this game, little brother, I'll show big sister never loses no matter what!"

"What does this have to do with me?" Augustus asked blankly.

They are playing a realistic game of chess. Where the king is the lead player who has to use his wits to lead his soldiers to victory, while the queen is their strongest soldier.

Alice and Isabella are the kings while Philip and Augustus are their queens.

It was becoming a bit intense because Alice and Isabella are becoming more competitive.

'We have gotten to the Milkyway Galaxy, fifteen minutes left to get to the vacation planet, Earth,' the ship's system said.

They paused the game and the two competitive ladies that were nearly consumed by insanity immediately became elegant women. "Oh really?" Isabella said in a gentle tone.

"We are almost in our mother world, aren't you excited?" Alice said excitedly to Augustus leaving the game.

"Women are frightening," Philip said.

"How are they able to change their behavior immediately?" Augustus questioned.

Just as they reached the planet's atmosphere they received news of disasters happening in the region they were about to land on.

They instead went to a region far away from where they were about to land.

"Phoenix and his family are still in that region," Isabella said in horror.

"We can't do anything about it now, we have to wait until the weather passes," Augustus said coldly.

"Weren't we supposed to be warned about the weather before coming here?" Alice asked her father.

"Yes, but I am not certain as to why we were not warned," Philip said.

Augustus frowned a bit. He could have sworn he felt a dark aura just now.
