Chapter CLIII - Succession Candidate

Marcus stared outside the elevator windows overlooking Draconia. His back was facing the doors when the elevator abruptly stopped, and the doors opened.

Marcus turned as a young dragonkin woman entered the elevator. She was dressed in a traditional secretarial pencil skirt over stockings with a matching coat. Underneath was a silk white collared shirt. Her black hair went down past her shoulders, tucked behind her ears.

"Good evening." Marcus said, smiling softly at the woman. She slightly bowed to him, saying nothing as the doors closed behind her and the elevator continued to descend the massive building.

Marcus scratched his cheek, feigning a smile before turning around and returning his gaze to overlook the volcanic city.

"You are the human Nobody, correct?" The woman asked, stepping beside Marcus, overlooking the city with him.

"Yes, and you are?" He asked, turning his head and staring at the profile of her face.
