Rebirth; Lost In Oblivion

It's already known that the world is headed for two ends; an evolution or an extinction. Well, for this fantasy world, there is a little bit of both and a third one included in the equation; this is none other than REBIRTH. Read as the humans of that world-changing era, with a group of individuals as the center of the story navigate the whole era as they try to grasp the new changes being dumped on them while also trying to survive through the perils of the world-changing era. On top of these, there's also an otherworldly being who narrates the whole ordeal and gets their life influenced by the lives of the group of individuals from a first point of view and not the usual third point of view.

Intricacies

Meanwhile, two other healers had approached Jackson Lee, who was still holding Chimsy in his arms.

They gently took Chimsy from him, their hands supporting her limp form as they began to work their magic.

One healer placed her hands on Chimsy's forehead, her eyes closed in concentration as she began to channel her energy.

The other healer, the burly, rugged-looking man took hold of Chimsy's hand, his eyes locked onto hers as he began to focus his powers.

"I can't believe this is happening," Dae-su Han muttered, his eyes fixed on Chimsy's pale face as the healers worked their magic.

Jackson Lee, standing beside him, nodded in agreement. "I hope it works on them both." He said

Sophia, lying on the ground nearby, suddenly stirred.

The healers' eyes snapped to her, their concentration intensifying.

A warm glow enveloped her body, and her eyes flickered open.

"Sophia!" Dae-su Lee exclaimed, relief washing over him. "She's awake!"

Sophia looked around her, surrounded by strange faces.

She was too weak to react to them.

One might even say that she was good with strangers given the way she acted with us.

The burly rugged rugged-looking healer's face was grim.

He was one of the healers that were attending to Chimsy. "She's not responding as well. She almost seems lifeless"

Dae-su Han's eyes narrowed. "What do you mean?"

The healer hesitated, totally confused about what to do.

He didn't really understand the intricacies of his abilities.

He just knew how to reach into the problems they were supposed to heal; whether it was body pathologies or injuries from fights with these paranormal creatures.

The other healers were pretty much the same as him.

This girl in front of them was a little bit different. It was as if her very life essence was slowly dimming.

Dae-su Han's eyes widened. "But you guys are healers. Can't you just...heal her?" He was panicking, with his heart beating fast as if he had known Chimsy for ages.

The female healer sighed. "It's not that simple. Chimsy's injuries are deeper than just physical and that's harder to heal."

The three healers who were healing baby Sophia turned their attention to Chimsy, their hands hovering above her limp form.

They closed their eyes, focusing their energies on her.

"We need to work together," the female healer whispered, her voice barely audible. "Our energies need to be in sync if we're going to have any chance of reaching her."

The other two healers nodded, their eyes still closed.

At first, nothing seemed to happen. Chimsy's body remained still, her chest barely rising and falling with each shallow breath.

But then, almost imperceptibly, her fingers twitched. It was a small movement, but the healers' eyes snapped open, their faces filled with hope.

"It's working," the male healer breathed, his voice filled with excitement. "We're reaching her."

But as they continued to work their magic, it became clear that Chimsy's situation was far more dire than they had initially thought.

Her body seemed to be like an endless void, absorbing all the energies being channelled into her and doing nothing to rouse her from the state that she was in.

The healers' faces set in grim determination, and they redoubled their efforts, pouring all their energy into Chimsy's limp form.

But as the minutes ticked by, their expressions began to falter, their brows furrowed in concern.

They had made a little improvement by invoking some response in her limbs but that was just about it.

She hadn't been fully dragged out of the gutter yet.

The male healer's face was grim. "We need to keep trying," he growled. "We can't give up."

But as they continued to pour their energies into Chimsy, it became clear that they were fighting a losing battle.

In a matter of a few moments, their energies were beginning to flag and they started to struggle to maintain the flow of their energies.

Dae-su Han, watching in horror, felt his insides churning with anxiety.

His ability to mimic the planet's infernal state was growing stronger by the minute, his body and soul turning their states of matter into molten and fire states respectively.

"Oh no," he muttered, his voice barely audible. "Oh no, this can't be happening." He was terror-stricken, as though he was about to lose a long-time friend.

Just when all hope seemed lost, the healers suddenly felt a shift in their energy movement through Chimsy's limp form.

Their energies were no longer being consumed at a fast pace.

Her soul had used their energies as fuel to replenish its broken state.

To the healers, they healed her but only I knew that Chimsy did the job herself.

Even when she was lost in deep unconsciousness she found a way to heal herself.

The tall lanky male healer's face lit up with relief as he relaxed his already exhausted upper limbs that were hovering over Chimsy.

The other healers felt relaxed too and then channelled a little bit of energy into Chimsy.

Chimsy's body then began to respond, her limbs twitching, her chest rising and falling with increased rapidity.

The healers' faces were filled with joy and relief as they watched Chimsy's eyes flicker open, her gaze locking onto Dae-su Han's face who was the most relieved out of us all.

Chimsy, still weak but aware, looked up at him with a soft smile.

She could see the relief in all our faces and it reduced the feeling of worthlessness she had long grown accustomed to back in Earth.

Without a word, Dae-su Han enveloped Chimsy in a tight embrace, his arms wrapping around her frail body like a shield.

Chimsy felt a surge of warmth and comfort as she leaned into his embrace, her head resting on his chest.

For a long moment, they held each other, the world around them fading into insignificance.

Dae-su Han's tears fell onto Chimsy's hair as he whispered soft words of relief into her ear.

"We found other people," Dae-su Han said. "We're no longer alone "

Chimsy's arms slowly wrapped around him, her fingers digging into his back as she clung to him with all her might.

She felt safe, protected, and loved in his embrace.

This was real, more real than anything she could've imagined holed up in her room back on Earth.

Finally, Dae-su Han pulled back, his eyes shining with tears as he gazed at Chimsy's face. "Oh, I'm sorry," he whispered, his voice choked with emotion. "I got carried away."

Chimsy smiled weakly, her eyes shining with tears. She didn't say a word because she was speechless and weak.

I approached Ethan Thompson, the leader of the group, with a sense of gratitude and respect. "Ethan, I don't know how to thank you," I said, my voice sincere. "Your help was invaluable. We owe you our lives."

Ethan smiled humbly, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "It was nothing," he said, his voice dismissive. "I'm just glad we were able to help."

I shook my head, adamant. "It wasn't nothing," I insisted. "You and your team risked your lives to save us. We're in your debt."

Ethan's expression turned serious, his eyes locking onto mine. "You don't owe us anything," he said, his voice firm. "We did what needed to be done. And to be honest, we need more people like you to survive in this place."

He was stating facts.

This strange, infernal planet was full of dangers, and we needed all the help we could get.

Even being in the midst of other humans provided some sort of solace to the humans.

"Thank you, Ethan," I said, my voice filled with gratitude. "Thank you for everything."

Ethan nodded, his smile returning. "Just be careful, okay?" he said. "This place can be treacherous. We need to stick together if we're going to make it out alive."
