Everyone's eyes shifted to the left, focusing on a man and a woman.
"Wow, it's my goddess, Xiao Yun."
"Xiao Yun is so beautiful."
"My idol looks even more handsome than on TV. His charisma is off the charts."
"They look so perfect together. I hope they're a couple," the chubby girl Farah said dreamily.
As soon as she spoke, she was met with countless disapproving glares. Farah shrank back, too scared to say anything further.
"That idiot Farah has terrible taste, thinking that the plastic-faced Xiao Yun is good enough for my idol," Samara sneered.
Natalie snorted, "With her eyesight, no wonder. Arthur despises her, and she still can't see it, shamelessly throwing herself at him."
At the mention of Arthur, Naya spoke up, "Zuri still occasionally sends gifts to Arthur."
"Saira, you should be more proactive. Don't let Zuri get ahead of you."
Saira shook her head, "If she likes him, she can have him."
In reality, Saira had been texting Arthur daily, contacting him much more than before. She wasn't about to let Zuri steal her fiancé.
Natalie looked at her with frustration, "You really..."
"What has Zuri been giving Arthur?" Saira asked.
"We're not really sure."
None of them had investigated it closely. People only mentioned the gifts, but no one seemed to know exactly what they were. The focus was on Zuri's pursuit of Arthur, not the gifts themselves. After all, with their affluent backgrounds, who cared about gifts? They were all just material items, nothing special.
Naya, who rarely spoke, added, "I saw one once. It looked like food, beautifully packaged."
Natalie burst out laughing, "Does she really believe that saying, 'The way to a man's heart is through his stomach'? How naive."
Saira and the others covered their mouths, laughing along.
Such sayings were meant to deceive naive girls. For people from their wealthy backgrounds, used to gourmet chefs, thinking a few homemade dishes could win a man's heart was underestimating the skill of Michelin-star chefs.
Owen and Xiao Yun stepped out. The stage manager approached with a smile, "Mr. Feng, Ms. Xiao, let's get started."
Owen nodded.
Xiao Yun smiled, "Alright."
After the stage manager left, Xiao Yun turned to her partner, looking at his perfect profile, her eyes revealing her fondness for him. "Owen, you look just like a student in this uniform. No one would guess you've been out of school for years."
Just as Owen was about to reply, he caught a glimpse of Zuri standing in front of him, and his eyes lit up. Remembering her earlier text, Owen smiled silently. This little girl knew how to surprise him.
Xiao Yun noticed his smile and was momentarily stunned. Apart from seeing him smile during filming, she had never seen him smile off-camera. He always wore a serious expression, though polite to everyone, he was difficult to get close to.
Following his gaze, Xiao Yun saw the pretty figure in the crowd.
The girl had delicate features, fair skin, and long black hair fluttering in the wind. Her gentle demeanor and elegant aura made her stand out. Even in a place full of beauties, she was top-tier.
Xiao Yun narrowed her eyes slightly.
Feigning ignorance, Xiao Yun spoke, "Owen?"
Owen snapped out of it, in a good mood, "According to the script, I haven't graduated yet, so being a student makes sense."
Xiao Yun was taken aback, then covered her mouth and laughed, "I almost forgot, you're a top student, graduating early from university."
Though Owen had obtained dual degrees and graduated early, he was only twenty-two years old, still very young. His exceptional achievements often made people overlook his age.
The two walked to the center of the stage, Owen discreetly signaled Zuri, who responded with a mischievous smile.
This little rascal!
Owen chuckled internally, a trace of a smile on his face.
Perhaps others didn't notice their interaction, but Xiao Yun, who was always watching Owen, did. Her brows furrowed slightly.
"Mr. Feng, Ms. Xiao."
He Ling and Jiang Pingting, two supporting actresses, greeted them. After saying hello, they didn't approach Owen. As new graduates, they were thrilled to act with Owen but had heard about actresses getting replaced for being too forward with him. This made the two rookies keep a respectful distance.
Xiao Yun responded gently.
Owen nodded.
"Let's rehearse."
The actors practiced finding their marks and the best positions, while the extras enthusiastically cooperated.
After two runs, just before shooting began, Xiao Yun's assistant approached the director with a smile, "Director Zhang, those three girls are too close to Ms. Xiao. It might affect her. Can you move them?"
Director Zhang looked at the three girls on the monitor. They were all pretty, especially the one in the middle, who bore a slight resemblance to Owen. Noticing the girl's on-camera presence, he realized why Xiao Yun felt they were in the way.
The director instructed his assistant, who immediately notified the stage manager.
"Filming is more tedious than I thought," Farida said, losing her initial excitement.
"My idol is so handsome."
Azura was lost in his stunning looks, unable to extricate herself.
"Later, I'll ask your idol for an autograph."
At that moment, the stage manager approached the three girls, "You three, move over there."
He pointed to the farthest spot.
Azura, immersed in admiration, was jolted back to reality.
"Why?"
She didn't want to move.
Farida asked, puzzled, "Is there a problem with us standing here?"
The stage manager, impatient, "Just move. Stop asking questions."
His high-handed attitude infuriated the hot-tempered Azura.
"Unless you give me a reason, I'm not moving," Azura said coldly.
The commotion drew everyone's attention.
While reciting lines with Xiao Yun, Owen turned to see the standoff between the stage manager and the three girls, the atmosphere tense.
