In the dark of the night, Christabal sat by the bedside staring at Acacia.
Seeing her laying there with her eyes open staring helplessly at the ceiling, he couldn't help but feel protective towards her.
Acacia's lips quivered holding back the tears in her eyes and pain in her heart.
He was lost. His heart ached for her. Lately, things haven't been going well for her. One bad news after the other, it was too much for her young innocent heart.
"Should I get you a late-night snack," he offered.
Like all his other attempts that one went without a response as well. Acacia had retreated into a cocoon of silence.
Christabal signed.
He wished that there was something he could do to ease Acacia's pain. He held her hand and gave it a gentle squeeze.
"I will stay with you till morning," Christabal assured her. "You can close your eyes and get some rest."
