"You should learn something from Sofia," Zara declared to Serena.
Serena could feel a vein almost pop on her head. It was the last thing she wanted to hear after the night that she had.
"You disappeared into goodness knows where and Sofia stepped up. Handling the duties of a wife and a daughter-in-law," Zara pointed out. "Frankly, it was nothing that I didn't expect. After all, she ain't you," she added.
Jax held Serena's left hand behind her back, gently squeezing it to comfort her.
Serena concentrated on the feeling, the warmth of his touch to stop her from killing her mother-in-law.
"You spoke about leaving my son and yet each day you continue to exist in his life. Have some self-respect and accept that you are needed here," she stated.
Serena stepped away from her and matched out to the pool. Jax and Maya followed behind her, she twirled around and stopped them. "I need to be alone for a moment," she said.
