Serena scanned the garden, her eyes not concentrating on anything particular. Her mind was all messed up, she was confused.
She had woken a few minutes ago, however, her body was still exhausted. Her heart was stuck in between the pieces of information she learned when she lost consciousness and the truths she held in her mind.
Nothing is ever the way she thought it was. It was tearing her apart. It was exhausting trying to put everything together.
Her bedroom door opened with a creaking sound. Steady footsteps approached her, but Serena remained unfazed.
"Hello love," Damian greeted. He took Serena in his arms and hugged her. Serena's body was cold, and she was unresponsive to him. "How are you feeling now?"
Serena didn't know where to begin. Her life was a mess, the more she tried to make sense of it, the harder it became. And staying still and watching time move wasn't helping her either.
She was torn.
