chapter 9 - skipping levels

john had arrived next to the fight a few hours ago as by coincidence this was the area he landed from his mother's throw.

he was scared at first on seeing the power of the two monsters but seeing as they were prioritizing on killing each other a plan was instantly planned by himself, he then waited at the right time for a hour before making his move, he wanted to kill the two monsters and take their cores, as monster cores is the easiest way to advance in level in this world, the two cores will help him reach directly to level 3 if he consume them properly.

the triangle appeared on his forehead and his breath became steady as the blue in his eyes shined brightly.

seeing the opportunity as the bear lets its guard down he proceeds to attack, he inserted mana into the stones as with his technique he had more control over mana, the stones pierced the eyes like that of bullets forcing the bear to go on a rampage.

the bear not being able to see quickly used its other senses which was the ability to smell, the bear was cunning and smart, it's intelligence was its greatest weapon.

john delivered a blow to the bear with the force of mana in his fist, before when training this was enough to knock down trees.

his fist collided with the stomach of the bear, blood shot out of the mouth of the bear but it's thick fur was enough to take 80% of the damage, the bear two arms proceeded to close onto john as he was about to receive the same faith as the wolf.

this was the bear true motives, this was it's ultimate technique, it force its prey to attack as it had faith in its defenses, then it will hug its prey with its enormous strength.

"you damn beast you think I will fall for a trick I already seen once, john kicked back with mana in his feet which shot him backwards, but the bear did not give up, it jump forward and opened its arms trying to force its body weight onto john.

'this damn beast' john cursed inwardly as he did not have much time to change direction.

"shit you leave me no choice" john began to suck in large amounts of waste mana around him, he then closed his eyes as he extended both of his hands forward, a sphere of water started to appear out of thin air, the sphere was as big as a human head, it then began to compress into a disk form and was spinning as it got large and larger by the second.

"ultimate water disk" john threw the disk that was now large as car, the bear was chopped into half by the waist, it died instantly as the disk continued with an unbelievable speed as trees were cut in half for miles before it disintegrated.

"huff...huff" john tried to catch his breath as that attack took alot of his stamina, but a sharp pain followed after as his body seemed to be going through some type of change.

john sat down to meditate he send some waste mana into his mana core and realized that it was really close to a breakthrough, he can breakthrough any minute now, but his mother warned him that after a breakthrough is the most vulnerable state for any being as at this state they are trying to rebuild their cores which can take hours or days.

john looked around to find a cave not to far away, their he can rest for the time being as he try to breakthrough.

john first began to tear apart the wolf and bear corpses in search for the mana core, he found 2 cores the size of a chickens egg, they were glowing blue with a marble looking exterior.

john took the two cores and ran as fast as he could to the cave, although he was exhausted he still forced his body.

as he arrived in the cave he found that of two wolf pups that were hiding behind a large rock, they seemed afraid of john as they shivered by the sight of him.

'hmm these look like the wolf that was fighting against the bear, they are just pups so I don't have to worry about them, even a normal human can defeat these two' john thought as he paid the pups no mind

he then focused on breaking through to the 2nd level, he closed his eyes and relaxed in a meditating position.

his body began to show that it was under pressure as vains were showing as if they were about to burst out of his skin.

he began to sweat heavily before that of the air around him should disturbance, the cave began to shake as the mana fluctuation was to much.

the two pups were so afraid that they dropped unconscious.

after a hour the fluctuations stop and the waste mana was once again calm as before.

john opened his bright blue eyes as he felt his body beaming with power.

"I should not stop here" john thought as he took out the two mana cores out of his pocket.

he did not hesitate to swallow the two mana cores, he then closed his eyes and went back into his meditating state.

inside his stomach he moved all the mana from the mana cores and placed it all into his mana core directly.

the tremendous amount of mana that john forced into his mana core was to much, his mana core cracked once more before breaking apart.

he coughed up blood as blood leaked out of his nose and eyes, but john was determined.

he closed his eyes and meditated for an entire day he rebuild his mana core but as soon as he did his mana core began to show cracks on it before stabilizing.

he opened his eyes as he was surprised by how well the monster cores worked.

john was now a peak level 3
