chapter 10 - beast of the outer territory

*a year later*

the forest was under great fear as a new ruler have been killing rulers of the outer territories.

the beast ran around on two legs and was hearless only carry hear on its head, it was unbelievable strong and was able to defeat half of the territory rulers of the outer territory of the nightmare forest, it kept expanding its territory with its two loyal companion wolves that were both peak level 3 monsters.

where ever they go blood and death followed, soon because of this the balance in the nightmare forest was beginning to slowly shift, monsters from the outer territory were fleeing and entering the human territories, some even entered the middle territories as they were more afraid of the roaming beast than the rulers of the middle domain, this caused one of the rulers of the middle territory to react and set out to enter the outer territory to restore balance.

in the dense forest of the outer territory lay two giant wolves that were cuddling around a young man with silver white hair and blue eyes, it was no other but john.

he took in the two pups that he found in the cave and he slowly trained them, with him feeding them only monster cores they were able to reach to the peak of level 3, they were strong monsters that were even more stronger than him as he was only intermediate level 5.

they still showed him loyalty and treated him as their alpha, john was kind to his wolves and grew a brotherly bound with them.

"alright max and ox, it's time for us to hunt down another ruler, if you guys eat some more of their cores you will advance for sure, am still far behind, I would need atleast 20 of their cores to reach the next level" john thought as he really wanted his wolves to become stronger.

the stronger they are the easier it would be for him in this place, as without his wolves he may have long been dead.

"soon we will escape this forest and show mother just how strong I became in just a year, with this strength I have long surpassed my peers" john said as he felt joy in his new way of living.

this was not a boring life like that of his past life, he was finding a meaning to his life and that meaning was to get stronger.

his goal was to reach the level of 100 so that he will be a powerful being in this world.

as john was busy with his wolves a vision came to him which sent shivers down his spine, "shit we got to run max and ox"

this was one of his new abilities he called water reflection he was able to see the reflection of all water within 2 miles, and in a particular water pond he found that of a ugly large rat with spiky fur, it had three eyes and it was heading in the direction of john.

john knew the forest better than anyone and have found out the rulers of the middle domain, this was the rat King, it was a level 5 monster and it had an ability which was fearsome amongst monsters.

it had the ability of mind control, it was able to control monsters that were weaker than itself.

behind it were hundreds of different varieties of monsters, the only thing the had in common was that all of their eyes glowed red.

john rushed further to the edge of the forest, he knew better than anyone that these monsters would rather die than to leave the forest which was full of waste mana that helped in their evolution.

john was on the back of ox, the wolves were fast and the rat king would never be able to catch up to their speed, it seemed as though it had planned to sneak attack john but john had the upper hand when it came to his water reflection.

"screeeech!!" the rat king cried out and five monsters that looked like that of wolves dashed forward, they were extremely fast as the rat king had two other abilities which corresponded with its mind control.

the first was Pain Immunity, any monster under the rat king control do not feel pain which erase their fear for death and creates that of a army that have no fear in dying.

the second is Strength Over Drive, the monsters it control would be forced to the peak of their strength, but this decrease the life expectancy of the monster, some monsters don't survive after this ability so the rat king only use it as a last resort.

in this case however the five wolves that the rat king sent were using the ability of strength over drive, this caused them to double their original speed.

they dashed through the trees with amazing speed only leaving after images.

the wolves were closing in on john, he had no other choice than to slow them down.

"secret mist" john shouted as a mist of water vapor blocked the view and sense of smell of the wolves.

the wolves were having problems seeing through the mist, but the rat king was smart it had eyes in the air.

two small birds can be seen in the air following john, because of this the rat king control the wolves to follow the right direction.

the wolves escaped the mist and began their pursuit.

john was not worried however as the little time he had was enough to set up traps.

the wolves came with speed that left after images, these monsters were at the peak of level 4.

with this kind of army it was out of the question how the rat king was a ruler of the middle domain.

the rat king lived up to its name as a king, it was a king of strategy, the way it thinked ahead and planned was that of a master strategist, this was not John's opponent as of right now.

the wolves were closing in, but as they got closer their feet began to get muddy and wet as on the ground their were numerous puddles.

"Water Mine Field"

john shouted as behind of him large explosions were heard.

this attack forced him to use his secret technique of using waste mana as that of internal mana, but it severely drained him.

john was unbelievably tired, he gave a command to his wolves to run straight, he was planning to run out of the forest, he was not sure where he will end up if it would be Bandit Kingdom or RoseCrown Kingdom.

but any of the two is better than facing this monster, john eyes became tired and were closing by themselves, he was about to fall off the wolf but it grabbed him in its large mouth gently as it proceeded to sprint forward.
