Confrontation with the Council of Doom

A woman in black fine clothes approached Mortis, amazed that he just stood there looking into her eyes. "Old man, I see you can keep your temper and restrain your urges even though you are surrounded by us. But don't worry, you'll end up like all male cattle and give us your energy and blood. Your old bones will be our feast," said the woman, acting as if she were a noblewoman. But Mortis rather looked around and noticed that all the women were now paying attention to him and looking at him as if he were a special piece of meat.

Then he turned to the woman and said, "I see you have given up your humanity and want to become demons. But you know what? If you eat humans to become a demon, you should be careful not to be eaten by demons." The woman laughed, jumped forward and breathed a pink gas into Mortis' face, then said, "Who would eat us? We are the ones who are now high up and decide who lives or dies. Now surrender to my charm."

Mortis took the mask off his face and stood with his special hair and eyes in front of this half succubus, who immediately lost herself in his eyes. "That's charm. But let's get to the most important part: who eats faster, your Metzen or my Pirataurs?" With a snap, 100 demons stood in the room like minotaurs, but with sharp fangs, looking hungrily at the demonesses, while Mortis grabbed the leader and said, "What did you say? Ah yes, the feast is open."

No sooner was the order given than the ghost demons pounced on the half-demons, biting into everything that belonged to those demons. The screams were agonizing and almost unbearable. The leader tried to close her eyes to avoid watching her fellow demons being eaten alive. But Mortis held her tight and forced her to keep her eyes open. Then he said, "As you do it to others, so now it is happening to yourselves. Watch closely so that you do not miss a moment of your fellow sisters being eaten."

The woman wept pitifully, but as the last demoness lost her life, Mortis held the woman before his face and said, "You tell me where your leader is, or believe me, I will see to it that you meet a worse fate. Show me the way, or I'll have you eaten slowly while you're always healed." The woman broke down and just nodded as she looked anxiously at the slowly dissolving spirits disappearing back into Mortis' soul room. She then ran to a hidden door behind her bed and dragged herself forward, with no hope of help.

After taking the hidden path, Mortis arrived in a room that resembled a church. Here was an altar and a statue of a woman with large bat wings and a black tail with a heart-shaped tip. The depiction alone could evoke feelings of lust in men, so beautiful was this evil goddess. But what caught Mortis' attention were two pots, one filled with blood and the other apparently with male seed. He wondered if dark gods really needed offerings or if this was merely assumed by the followers. He asked the half-succubus right after if this was really necessary. But she only answered that it was prescribed to them by the High Council and she herself did not know if it was really necessary. Mortis sighed. What else did he expect from a stupid peasant?

No sooner had they left the altar than there were more devotees in the next hallway, wondering why the Lady of Pleasure looked so distressed. The woman walked past them and ignored them, which relieved the devotees because they didn't want to play with her. They let them, without asking why, because they were actually happy to be ignored - at least until a scythe beheaded them. And their souls were collected by Mortis.

You call me a demon, and yet you have no qualms about killing just like that. Who is the monster now?" asked the mistress of lust. I don't care how you see me. You have chosen your path, and your destruction triggers nothing in me. I do not kill you to enrich myself or to gain power. I do it to eradicate the evil that is you, before more innocent people have to suffer," Mortis explained, pushing the succubus forward so that she moved forward to point the way.

After a few meters they reached a large gate. The Lady of Pleasure stood in front of it and said, "Here is the Council, our leaders of this cult in this land. With this I have brought you to where you wanted to go. Now come, let us go inside. The council will show you where your place is." She pushed open the gate and tried to run away from Mortis. Mortis, however, simply ran after her without paying any attention. Meanwhile, he heard dark voices asking, "What's going on here? Why do you just barge into our quarters, Mistress of Lust?" But the latter ignored the voices and ran for her life to escape Mortis. Looking up, a tall, well-built man with red eyes saw Mortis enter the room. Mortis was holding a scythe adorned with an angel, which sent a shiver down the council man's spine. Especially when he noticed how Mortis looked at him as if he were looking down on the worm from above, the man immediately activated an item which set off an alarm.

The alarm annoyed Mortis a bit, but it made things easier. After all, if his opponents were strong, he could use the weak worm to heal himself with their souls. So he waited patiently for everyone to show themselves from this oh-so-powerful council, as well as the many small cultists who had taken the wrong path. It wasn't long before gates opened behind him and a crowd of lowly servants emerged, their weapons pointed at Mortis. However, he focused more on the door behind the man with the red eyes, from which Four other figures appeared, exhibiting various characteristics of demons.

If Mortis had to guess which figures entered the room, they would be familiar beings, also found in the history books of the ancient world. One might be a vampire, another looked like a male succubus, that is, an incubus. One had wings and smelled like a bad, rotting disease, as if it were a descendant of Beelzebub. The other creature had animal-like features but was doused in pitch, and the fifth looked like a Hobgoblin in knight's armor.

However, when they saw Mortis, the four newcomers were very puzzled, especially when they saw his weapons. However, Mortis did not flinch nor was he nervous as he faced the demons. When they were about to say something, Mortis scratched the ground with his blade, producing a terrifying sound. When they tried to say something again, he repeated it and they fell silent. At this Mortis laughed wickedly and said, "Like dogs you can distract with a whistle, that's all you are. But you are lucky, I still have some questions for you. So, which one of you is the true leader or is he sitting in another hole surrounded by vermin?"

The incubus was about to say something, but when he saw the succubus hiding in fear in disgust, he fell silent and the stinking demon did the talking. "Why should we tell you who our leader is? Why do you even think there should be someone above us? We are the Council of Mischief, the servants of evil. So, human, why are you acting like this?"

Mortis looked bored at the group of the Council and said, "Then I am the gatekeeper of Hell today, for that is where I will take you. But don't worry, if you answer honestly, I will have you killed quickly instead of having you eaten slowly." As Mortis said this, the Mistress of Lust began to cry, trying to push out of her mind the images of what had happened in her quarters.

The stinking demon was about to signal for Mortis to attack when 100 ghosts appeared out of nowhere and lined up behind Mortis to make sure not a single cultist got anywhere near Mortis. The appearance of the spirits not only silenced the cultists, but also the Council of Doom, which was now ready for battle itself.
