Mortis woke up slowly when he heard the message a second time, Mortis got ready and nodded in understanding, then called out to the coachman to stop because they were being followed and there was probably a trap ahead. Behind a hill and larger stones, about 10 men appeared, aiming bows and crossbows at them, but Mortis simply called the general and let him charge at them. 3 idiots really tried to shoot the general, but they were the first victims of the general, who then wildly hit them all like a berserker and left hardly any remains, which was too much even for Mortis, who mostly looked away from them when they were torn into 2 parts. But even though bandits were being massacred there were still a few who tried to get to the carriage but got the same treatment from Mortis as the first one.

When the general tried to approach Mortis with a sinister smile, he sent him straight into his sea of souls, because the coachman also saw everything and was now more afraid of Mortis than of 10,000 bandits. Mortis noticed this and smiled mischievously at the coachman while he looted a bandit then called Sarah and ordered her to loot the other corpses and cut off their heads as there might be a bounty for them. Sarah made 2 mountains one with heads and one with valuables both of which Mortis took in his ring and then leisurely got on the carriage.

In the inn Mortis saw Daniel who was ordering food. Mortis went to Daniel's table and told the waitress he had the same 3 times and then sat down with Daniel. He was very surprised to see Mortis but when he saw Kathrin and Sophia his cup almost fell out of his hand and he jumped up and bowed and asked. Lady Sophia what are you doing in a place like this.

Mortis walked ahead while Kathrin walked a little further behind Daniel was with Sophia in the middle one could think they took a formation but actually it was more like Mortis wanted to do everything quickly and did not want to take too long Sophia and Daniel just talked a little and Kathrin had a bad conscience and now did not know how to deal with Daniel.

Mortis let his herbalist ghost do his work again to fill his wallet when he sells these herbs to Marlene.
