Chapter 62

"I never thought I'd be seeing you before I die in this place." Nova said as he slowly looked in the direction of the man who had walked up beside the iron bars. The last person he expected to see was the one person he had tried to sneak in to get close to before getting caught by Tyson in the act.

"They intend to kill you?" Chi asked with a start as he had not expected that at first. After considering it he could understand why they would come to that conclusion but it still pained him to know the man could be killed.

"Are you not scared? Wandering up to the cell of the one who intended to assassinate you? If I wanted to I could kill you where you stand whether the bars are between us or not." Nova said as if he was testing Chi's reaction. There was a sense of hatred in his voice that felt as if it was meant for someone else entirely instead of Chi.

"I would have to be crazy to not feel fear given the situation.. but I wanted to ask you about the one you work for." Chi pushed through with all the courage he could build up to find out answers from Nova that he felt the others were always holding back from him. He was not one who could learn of the dimension from Tyson. Tyson was always trying to protect Chi from everything around him as much as possible so that Chi would not have to suffer from the cruelty that he saw and felt every year in Numen's Garden. If Chi wanted to learn he would have to find out what he could on his own in other ways.

"Why would I tell you anything about Zeref? Or anything at all for that matter.. Whether I talk about him or not I am dead if I remain here." Nova scoffed at the thought of talking about the one he worked for just because he was asked to nicely by Chi.

Chi pondered over the direct question that Nova had asked. He knew that Nova had nothing to benefit from talking to him about anything regardless of what it was about. His eyes glancing down at the chains that were bound to Nova's wrists. A faint white fog was coming off of them as Nova was struggling to keep his body cool from the heat of the sky that shone in. For someone cold blooded it looked as if the heat kept him in a constant state of pain.

"I'll help you," Chi said as he stepped towards the bars a bit more before continuing. Making sure that Nova was listening to him. "I will help you out of here."

"Ahaha! The innocent one that stands behind a devil surely is not as simple as he seems!" Nova could not help but burst out in laughter. The idea of Chi doing something so reckless truly did not seem that surprising. Chi spent his days standing beside Tyson so surely he should have realized that Chi would be willing to do something reckless. Though Nova knew he was not much different considering he had rushed in unprepared himself just to aid his brother.

"Will you speak with me now?" Chi pushed to get his response.

"Fine.. At least tell me what you wish to know.." Nova felt as if he was being played for answers. If it was anything too direct he would simply ignore it and request that Chi leave.

"Where is he now? Why is he after Tyson?" Chi started muttering out questions one after another before Nova could even respond to him. He could see the flustered expression on Nova's face as the man tried to keep up with what all Chi was saying all at once.

"Slow down! The hell!" Nova blurted out as he tried to get Chi to calm down. It felt like he was being ranted at rather then being asked questions.

"Sorry.." Chi realized he had started rambling slightly and calmed himself down.

"Whatever.. Anyways.. I'm sorry but I have nothing to tell you on that matter. All I know I Numen told Nova to take care of Tyson and make sure he never reaches the peak of the dimension. I have no idea where he is. Nobody does. It's impossible to track that man." Nova had no reason to lye to Chi. He truly had no idea where Zeref was even if he wanted to. The man could come and go from Numen's Mansion more then any other rank ten survivor. As long as Numen approved of it or needed Zeref for his own personal reasons the man would be summoned back and forth.

I guess that's what the god's dog gets.. Nova thought to himself. It annoyed him just thinking about how differently the man was treated but he couldn't complain because he knew it was purely because Zeref would bend to every will of the god.

"Does he really serve Numen out of loyalty? But why.." Chi thought about it out loud as he felt there was something deeper behind Zeref's loyalty in their situation.

"Why are you trying to rationalize him? Both Zeref and Tyson are both crazy in their own ways! You can't rationalize a nut case!" Nova couldn't help but ask as he listened to Chi's self muttering. He felt there was no reason to think too hard about either of those men.

While the both of them were busy talking to each other a sudden noise from outside could be heard. Like a large explosion the sound caused Chi to cover his own ears. The ground beneath them shaking violently as screams of panic could be heard. Something dangerous was happening outside and Chi knew he no longer had time to talk to Nova. Someone was attacking the castle!

"NOVA!" Hide's voice could be heard loud and clear throughout the castle as he called out for his younger twin. The air around the castle dropping in degrees fast as the walls and ground began to frost over. It felt as if winter himself had come to King Sobek's castle and he was pissed! His entire body make crackling sounds as ice fell from his blue hair like small sickles as he stepped over the now collapsed wall that was once surrounding the castle. Behind him a crazy Loli girl with her long black and purple hair held firmly onto her heavy laser gun. Any time someone tried to step in their direction her weapon would fire off sending them back the direction they had tried to step forward from.
