Chapter 34: Retreat

Soon, the group of summons arrived at the stairway to the lower floor. On this floor, the noticeable thing that caught his attention is the number of rats. The number of rats is more in numbers.

As for his summons, they just ignore those rats. Because they already captured a few of them on the previous floor. They think that these rats are the same rats from before so they just ignore them.

But while his group of summon ignored these rats, the rats suddenly get aggressive. Many of them start to come out in swarm from the dark corner and charge at his summons.

Looking at the incoming enemies, Soro's summons starts to move forward and destroy those stupid rats. Soon, almost all rats that were in the way were all killed. Except for a few weird-looking rats that they didn't encounter on the previous floor. These rats are now crippled. They are waiting to be brought out from here and kill.

After the wolves finish bringing the rats out, the dungeon diving continues. After arriving on the 3rd floor, everyone starts to pay more attention. Because the scouting birds couldn't bring any information out, it makes everyone assumed that this floor is dangerous.

The environment on the 3rd floor is looking scary. It's a dark forest with some glowing mushrooms on the ground. But for the group of summons, they don't care about how dangerous an area is. As long as they can help their master, they can throw away their life at any time. So the group continues forward without a care.

About 5 minutes into the dark forest, the group finally meets this floor monsters. They see a group of big rats at the side of a human infant. The special thing that those rats show is the ability to walk on their 2 legs.

Even for Soro that is watching this from his summons's eye, he feels shocked.

What is this? Humanoid rats?

While his group is still analyzing the situation, more rats start to show up. There are humanoid rats everywhere. From behind trees and on top of the trees. Soon enough, the group of summons has been surrounded.

Those rats' mindsets are the same as his summons. They give no shit about their life as long as they can protect the dungeon core. So the two groups start to charge at each other.

On Soro side, his bears start to run into where the rat-man gather the most. It starts to swing its paw left and right, making many rat-man flies into mid-air. Even if they try, the rat-men can't stop the momentum of a tier1 bear.

For the wolves, they are aiming for a single rat-man at a time. They bite onto a rat-man and swing them a few times before throwing them away and move to the next. And for the cats, they are running up trees and use their sharp claw to slap some rat-men off to the ground.

On the rat-men side, their tactic is to surround their target one at a time. Like that one unlucky wolf, many rat men come from many directions to catch it. Some rats jump from the tree branch to land on its back, some ran from nowhere and hold on to their legs. Soon that wolf is gone. All you can see is a small hill made out of rat-men.

The chaotic fight continues for about 10minutes. And then a new group of defenders appears. The 2 human summons, that act as the leaders of the group, turns to look. They see a group of bats flying over from the deeper part of the forest. Without hesitation, they order his team to retreat. Because what they saw was shocking.

Among those normal size bats, they saw a few bats with the size as big as a human. But before they turn back to retreat, the 2 leaders didn't forget to tell their comrades to carry some half-dead rat-men with them.

During the escape, Soro's summons received many attacks from the bats. Those big bats can fly super fast to catch their escaping prey. Once his summons gets caught, they die almost at an instant. Those bats have very sharp teeth that even a tier1 bear can't do a thing.

The trip from the 3rd floor to the surface was a very long one for his summons. On each step they take, a summon will fall. And in the end, only 6 wolves managed to escape. And these wolves didn't manage to escape by themselves. It was Soro who re-summon an army to go and save them.

Standing outside the tent, Soro is looking at the dungeon entrance with a gloomy face. Beside him, there 2 corps of rat-men. The reason that these corps are laying there because Soro doesn't have enough mana to use his summoning skill.

The sudden death of his many tier1 summons forced him to re-summon them back until his mana drops to almost zero. And at the end, the 6 corps that his wolves brought out, he can only summon a tier1 bats and 3 tier1 ratling.

You can see a female fairy is sitting on a green core. The little fairy seems to be communicating with the core. From time to time, you can see her stroking the core like a mother comforting her child.

To support what the fairy said. A big monster that is nearby starting to stand up and let out a few rat squeak. With a close look, you can see that the monster is a combination of a rat-man and a giant bat. Body of a rat standing about 1.7 meters with a giant pair of batwing on its back.
