Who Are You?

"A spy! Who are you working for?" see, how she wished she had been wrong this time. She gulped as she knew no amount of explanation would work in this case.

"I am just a guest in the bar. I was looking for the washroom and lost my way." she confessed but they only looked at her with cold eyes as if they wanted to laugh at her lame excuse.

Firm hands grip me, and I'm roughly hauled into the open. Into the light.

But to her surprise, the strange man came for her rescue and held her by her wrist. His nostrils flared and his muscles tensed. He growled and his eyes narrowed and I felt my heart went still.

"Nathaniel, I can explain.." the man spoke in a trembling voice. "We did not know about her presence. We have checked the room before your arrival and you know we have always followed discretion. I do not understand how this girl entered but we will surely investigate the case.

And she is not going to leave this room alive." her breath hitched and her eyes widened. An angry image of her mother's face flashed her eyes and she struggled hard again.

"Let me go. I did not do anything. I do not know about you. Just let me go and I will not speak a word about it." She cried hard. But her voice fell into deaf ears. They did not look at her. Everyone's gaze was focused on the dark man named Nathaniel while he… he was only looking at her with a strange gaze.

She could feel the heat of his eyes and it was making her skin crawl. But for some strange foolish reason, she was not afraid of her. In fact, she felt protected by his gaze. Though she knew the whole thought was foolish since they were killing her only to satisfy this man.

As if feeling my fears, he suddenly leapt on the man who was holding my shoulders and pushing me on my knees. To her utter shock, a deep, animalistic snarl rips from his throat and the noise sends a heated quiver straight to her loins.

"Release her." He aims a sharp glance at her captors. Chloe gasped as they let go of her immediately. But instead of standing up, she fell on the ground. Before I could understand, my body started to run toward the door. But Nathaniel grabbed her before she could take a step forward.

For seconds, she gaped at their proximity. The way his heated gaze held her captive. It must be a dream, a nightmare she had gotten after getting a scolding from her mother about her new friends. But the pressure of his fingers told her it was not a dream, it was a real nightmare she had thrown herself into.

"Let me go, please. I have done nothing and i am not a spy" she repeated for umpteenth time as she struggled but her weak body was no match to his strength.

Her trembling increases as he leans closer and takes a long, drawn-out inhale. There was something strange in his touch. Chloe had never been with a man but she had a crush on one. But even his touch had not left such goosebumps on her skin. When he exhaled a long breath, she felt her pulse rising and her knees went weak.

A part of her wanted to lean into that touch. Wanted that they were alone in this room. But she tore her gaze away from him and looked at the gaping weapon holders with an embarrassed look. They must have thought that she was flirting with him. The man who was most terrifying in this room though he was not holding any weapon.

"I.. I can explain." She started looking at the other men but the man holding her was faster. A guttural voice left his lips and his eyes snapped to them forcing them to take a step back.

"Come with me." Judging by the darkness in his gaze, she was sure she would regret following him. He was going to hurt her, perhaps kill her so that she would never be able to speak about him with others.

"Please… I will not tell anyone about you." She pleaded again with her misty eyes when a low dangerous growl emanated from his throat. And they all ran away as if demons were chasing them.

"Come with me." he repeated and now the foolish thought that she wanted them to be alone scared the hell out of her. She gulped but looking at those commanding eyes, she did not have the power to refuse anymore. He turned her around, placed his hands on her back and slowly led her to another door she had not noticed before. She gulped when she realized her friends would never know she was here.

No one would search for her in a secret room in a fancy private suite. If he would kill her and bury her somewhere, her family would never know about it. She would be missing for ages.

He held her tightly when she missed a stair. The place was too dark and it took her a second to adjust to it. But there was nothing to see. It was a dark room with three stairs and there was a large chair in the middle of the room. It looked like that ancient meeting room where the prince of the underworld would sit and let other demons stand when they reported him about their findings.

He pushed her on that seat and she obeyed with a fearful glance. She wanted to beg for her life again though she knew he was not going to listen to her.

"Who are you?"
