Reaching Out

A boy left all alone in the world after being abandoned by his mother in a poor clan that treated him harshly because he started showing signs of being different from other kids and the people around him. Though that plan never worked out for him and, in the end he was left to strive on his own as best as he could in the environment he was left in. He explored the towns library and any books he could find in his Clan even if they were useless. Years on years of doing such things eventually led him into stumbling across a book that would help push him towards the thing he wanted the most. "The Basic Guide To The Astral Path" This book may not of been special to anyone in the long run but, it was to him because, it was his new beginning. With this new path available to him would he be able to push through all the obstacles and hardships waiting for him or in the end will he stumble and fall? Mistakes Were Made

Throughout the whole day ever since morning she had secretly been watching him the entire time. She knew today he'd be fighting the so called king of the forest as he called it and they were relatively even in strength though she was still worried about him at the end of the day. Since she couldn't openly show her strength to him right away she figured the best approach to the situation was to hide and secretly protect him if need be. Though she really hoped it wouldn't come to that.

For the past 15 years she had been stuck at the very edge of the Cosmos Stage and never attempted breaking into the the next Solar Stage because she had became lazy. What worried her the most though was the chance that she might have to use it sometime soon. The reason that worry was even brought up was because she knew herself that the King wasn't the real King, it was just a decoy. She almost learned that the hard way in the past but she ended up getting lucky and avoided the catastrophe of facing the Kaltae Beast.

That beast at the time was a 5th stage like her now but she knew almost for certain that it didn't get any stronger. Kaltae Beast's might be strong especially at birth but they can never go past a certain point afterwards. Fortunately not all Astral Beasts were like that but to the ones that were like that it could be taken as a curse or a blessing. Even so while she might be stronger then it that still didn't mean she could beat it for certain though right now because they were fairly equal.

"Well let's hope for the best."

With that in mind she continued watching over him the whole day and watched his progress.

At the beginning she watched him charge at the Nature Spirit recklessly and while she did expect that she really didn't want to see that happen.

"To late."

She watched as he went into her zone and instantly got pummeled by one of the branches the Nature Spirit controlled. Seeing that shot a slight sharp pain through her mind but she quickly shook it off. She couldn't just go in and save him. Treating him like a baby and holding his hand wasn't going to help him at all, so even if it did hurt her to see him like that she continued watching.

Over the last two years of them being together they had grown a lot more closer to each other then they were at the beginning and, with that she ended up learning a lot about him. Even the things he wouldn't of wanted her to know otherwise. The biggest things she learned out of it all though, was that he was incredibly stubborn to the point where it was frustrating and two, he hated asking people for help. Whether it was from his mutterings or the stories and talks they had to past the time, she learned a lot from it. Which contributed to the main reason she didn't want to interfere.

"Though I hope that changes one day."

They weren't necessarily bad traits to have but too much of something can turn into a negative. Like never knowing how to ask for help. Though even if he were to break that habit it's not like he would ask her because to him she was just a weak lizard that needed protection and not the other way around. Thankfully after seeing him get punched a couple more times she finally noticed him change his tactic and charge in slightly different than anytime before.

"He noticed faster than I thought at least."

When that happened the fight finally started to change until eventually he ended up ripping the Nature Spirits arm off. Though she did notice a slight change in his expression before and after that which did slightly bother her because it was something she rarely ever saw on him especially when fighting.

Joy and fear.

Usually when he fought he didn't feel any joy from what she noticed and the few times she saw him afraid he still pressed forward regardless but this time he was winning the fight so he had no reason to be afraid which was what confused her the most.

"What exactly is happening to him?"

Though she didn't have long to ponder because after a couple seconds he broke out of his stupor and continued the fight until eventually he ended up beating the Nature Spirit. Breathing a sigh of relief after that intense fight, she finally felt her body finally relax as well.

"Looks like I was more worried than I thought."

Just as soon as she relaxed though that's when it happened. The Kaltae Beast appeared and rammed him into a cave wall when he finally let his guard down. Though the damn beast was definitely playing with him because with its strength it could of 100% killed him if it wanted to. She was careless it seemed but when she saw that beast she became shocked herself. Even though she was stronger then it still, she still ended up letting it get through her detection and it actually ended up hurting him after his fight.

"Dammit."

Over all the years and time she had spent alive she had never felt so much anger before. Though the anger wasn't directed at the Kaltae Beast it was directed at herself for making such a big almost fatal mistake. If the Kaltae wasn't such a sadistic beast she would of lost him forever and that was something she definitely couldn't bear to see or live with. Thankfully it liked to play with its prey and bully things weaker then it.

If it was before meeting him though she wouldn't of felt any of these kind of emotions or thoughts and thinking of that though brought a quick smile to her face but it quickly disappeared because now was not the time for such things. She could definitely beat the beast but not instantly so she needed a way to beat it as fast as possible.

Watching the Kaltae slowly walk towards him she threw her mind into overdrive until suddenly one of the imprinted memories she had because of her being a beast presumably came to mind.

The Solar Stage.

Holy this was a little later then I wanted. That's completely my bad. Sorry everyone.

Enjoy
