SHADOW

On my way home, i bought mom's favorite pastry. People saw me and started murmuring but i didn't mind it at all, i didn't care about people say, i just wanted to go home.

As i reached the front porch of my home, i felt uneasy, my legs felt unsteady and wobbly as i opened the door slowly. I stepped into the house and began walking step by step. The was filled with caution tapes so i had to bend over a little to the other side of the room. I walked straight to mom's room as i held the door knob which was still covered in dried blood, opened it and stepped in. I walked to the exact spot mom laid and sat there.

I opened the pastry and began eating it with tears threatening fall out but i refused to let it drop. I'm not going to be a weak girl

"I'll find out my whoever it was that did this to you and i promise to make them pay"....

I noticed something, a shadow. I put down the pastry and walked towards it and when i was fully out of mom's room, the shadow had vanished. I ran up to my room, the bathroom, the kitchen, wardrobes and then the attic. I checked every possible place a person could fit in and hide but I didn't see anyone. One thing i was really sure of was that it was the shadow of a lady.

I heard car horns which made me look out the window. I saw the police car park in the driveway. Miss Valentine came out of the car running into the house with a police officer. She opened the door and hurried towards me enveloping me in a tight hug.

"What were you thinking leaving the hospital like that. Do you know how worried we all were" she asked almost yelling

"I-im sorry. I could stay they i felt uncomfortable" I said

" It's ok just don't do it again we are all worried about you" she said

" ok" I added

" Hi I'm Detective Kim and I'm responsible for your case, We will definitely find out who did it so you don't have to worry. As for now we have to get you out of here. You do know that you can't stay here" Detective Kim said

" Yes i know" I said

"She'll stay with me" Miss Valentine said

" Alright here's my number if anything ever happens, give me a call" he said handing me and miss Valentine his number. Truthfully I don't care about where I would stay since it wouldn't change my predicament, so i just let them decide on it.

"Thanks detective" We said

" Come-on let's go, I'll give you a ride to your house" He added

We both entered the car and he dropped us at Miss Valentine's home.

" Thank you very much detective" she said

"No need just make sure you both stay safe" he said

" thanks go home safely" I said

After he left we both entered the house and miss Valentine showed me to the guest room before she left, she said....

" When you are done with taking a bath come down for dinner ok?

" I'm not really hungry, I just go to bed. Thank you for letting me stay here" I said

"It's ok. Alright go to bed, I'll cook something delicious for you tomorrow" she said

" Thank you. Good night" i said

" Good night sweetie" she replied and closed the door.

I was awake for three hours. I couldn't sleep at all. I looked at the clock hanging on the wall and it was 11: 38pm. I still couldn't sleep, I started feeling uneasy as if someone was watching me. I unknowingly looked out the window and I saw someone looking up at the room where I'm staying. If I'm not mistaken, it was definitely the person who was at my house earlier.
