Quest for Hikari - Episode 15: Lavender

[ ~ Chapter • Start ~ ]

I walked down the stairway into the Khien Manor's basement at the end of it, and was greeted by cold air passing through me.

My instincts are telling me that there's probably a secret around here, something that spirit wanted me to know.

Something that might or might not help me with my investigation. Although the stakes are more tilted to the former than the latter.

That also matters, now... I'll proceed.

I strode through the hallways, finding several Guy Monsters, such as a Nubobo (a shitty EXP stealing ghost) and a Meatball, or just a living meatball with a shield and a spear blocking my path.

They were easily taken care of, not before a turn later, I noticed a shadow approaching me from the distance.

Looking at it closely, I immediately distinguished that the shadow was somebody I met days ago. That girl was Necai Sys, and she's equipped with two chakrams.

"Rance? You're here to clean this house from the ghosts?" She spoke in a laid back manner just like the time we first met.

"I was requested by the princess to visit this house for ghostbusting, so I was here." I replied, just before she gained a small smirk on her face.

"Eh.... that so.... I was getting tired killing monsters left and right you know? You're taking over my job, I'll just talk to my client that my job's done so that I could get my money." Necai spoke, putting her chakrams on her back before stepping up towards me and pecked me on the cheek.

"Heh, consider that a small payment, big boy~."

Necai then left to where I originally entered from in a seductive, yet laid back manner before making a short glance towards me.

..... That was quick.

... Yet I still have something to do, so I began searching deep into the basement. There were a few rooms named the "Cat Room" and the "Frog Room", though both of those doors were locked. I had to kill a few more monsters,

And then, there was the door with a sign saying "Squid Room", the same door noticably wasn't locked, meaning that something was here.

When I entered the room, it was obvious that this room made specifically for torturing people. There was absolutely nothing here but me, and several used torture devices.

Such as a large wooden horse stationed inside this room, equipped with a triangular back that had it's tip made of iron.

This room, I just saw this earlier.....

Before I could observe the room more, the same spirit appeared before me.

"What is it now?"

Just like earlier, I gained another vision from the girl, this time, she was in this very room, riding the wooden horse while being bound to it.

Aside from that, my head began hurting unlike earlier and I was forced to kneel down because of it.

This time, her arms were also bound up, and unlike earlier, the girl was gagged up yet was still allowed to see what was around her. The girl looked like she knew what was about to happen.

... Until the other figure approached her with a cattle prod that was heated up to incredible levels.

I also noticed that the tip of the cattle prod had Leazas's emblem on it.

"Oh? You know what this is, Lavender? Fufufu~ you've become my property, and you'll serve that fate untill your death." The other figure said, before slowly getting close to the girl now named Lavender.

Lavender shook her head rapidly and closed her eyes, just before the cattle prod's burning tip pressed on her lower abdomen.

"HNGGGGG!!!" Lavender screamed as she bit down on her gag with such force that her lips began whitening and maybe her gums began bleeding too.

However, in the end, she was healed back up, and her torment became worse as time went on.

Grrrr..... this is becoming unbearable...

Before I could take more mental damage, I suddenly opened my eyes, and I was now alone, breathing heavily in cold sweat.

It took me a while to calm down once again, before I noticed something under the wooden horse.

I began to pry whatever that was, and to my curiosity, the object I pried is a small key that I immediately put on my pocket.

The ghost appeared before me while she looked like she would cry soon.

".... Mister.... please.... end this..... I can't take it anymore...." The spirit of Lavender spoke between sobs, before vanishing.

....

I clenched my fists, and proceeded to leave the room, and eventually the basement itself.

I began to search the manor, until I found a stairway leading up to the second floor and immediately walked up.

Suddenly, barrels began rolling from upstairs, and I have no choice but to cut them all down and slowly proceed up until I found a massive Punching Kong grabbing a barrel before I struck it down.

"....!?" The Punching Kong screeched, before grinning towards my direction and beating it's chest before wildly throwing a punch towards my direction.

I nimbly dodged it's strike, before sheathing out the Rance Sword MkIV and thrusting it straight to the Guy Monster's head, killing it immediately before sheathing my sword.

Moving forwards ain't that easy, because the room it was guarding, the "Monkey Room" had a stench coming from it that was really horrible I didn't want to go in there else my lungs would burn.

So instead of going to that room, turning to another path was best.

And then I found and entered a seemingly ordinary room. There weren't any visions this time when the spirit of Lavender appeared, too.
