RAISING A PROTAGONIST

"Goodness, being the strongest is not as I expected at all. Everything and everyone are too weak and terrified. "My students are scared of me as well?" "Even powerful magic beasts die before I touch them!" "Hmm? Oh, he has the protagonist star but he is too hidden and might not shine. Hehehe, I'll groom this one and make him into the strongest too" Realizing that being the strongest comes with not only power and authority but extremely loneliness and unbearable boredom, vee fakes his death and travel to a far away land to live as a commoner. But just a few years after his retirement, his planet was invaded by a strong force that seek to conquer their home. But vee decides not to act this time and rather watch from the sideline while secretly helping someone else to become the main character in the darkest moment of their planet.

The hover car turned into a golden light and disappeared into the ring, Vee was left floating in the air as his eyes seemed to be staring at something outside the planet with a surprised expression on his face.

Outside of planet Edrichrio, Vee saw some creatures trying to break through the planet's protective barrier and enter the planet. The creatures had demonic looks with rough purple skin which one could tell at a glance was not in the least less hard than the bark of a tree, some of them had single twisted horns while others had two and each of them had long serpent-like tails behind their waist, in addition to that, the creatures easily had the height of two adults combined.

These creatures had truly frightening appearances that could easily scare a lot of kids to tears and even startle most adults if they were to suddenly pop up in front of them.

But that wasn't all. Behind these creatures, Vee saw an enormous floating mass of metal that he believed was their battleship or spaceship. The spaceship was made completely of black thick metal and had an extremely frightening appearance, it was also twice the size of the biggest battleship that Vee had seen in the whole of Edrichrio; he believed that this fearsome-looking spaceship would be enough to carry up to seven thousand people at the same time.

But that was not what caused Vee the most surprise, what surprised him the most were the complex and strange runes that they were inscribing on the protective barrier around Edrichrio that caused the protective barrier to loosen up. But the results that they were getting were so minuscule that it could be easily ignored, the protective barrier around Edrichrio was just too difficult to break through in a short time.

After all, planet Edrichrio was not just any ordinary planet, it had mages…powerful mages and strong magic beasts. It would be strange if its protective barrier was cracked up that easily.

But despite this fact, Vee's eyebrows knitted together in a frown.

"Even though the protective barrier of the planet is extremely resilient and can still hold on, by the rate at which they are drawing those strange runes…it will take only a few years, a hundred years at most before these creatures break into the Edrichrio. What do they even want with this planet? Vee mumbled to himself as his eyes roamed the creatures one after the other in confusion.

Mages usually had long lifespans compared to normal people and their lifespan would always increase whenever they broke through, a hundred years was not a very long time to them.

And although these creatures were currently outside the planet's hemisphere, Vee could still give an estimate of their strength even though he did not know what power system they followed. Currently, all the creatures that were trying to crack open Edrichrio's protective barrier were equal to Alpha rank mages in terms of strength and Vee doubted that this was the pinnacle of their strength. Would they have creatures that were equal to mages at the Supreme rank, Divine rank, or even…Transcended rank like himself?

Vee was still in thoughts when he suddenly felt multiple presences approaching but surprisingly, these newcomers were not coming from the fearsome spaceship, they were approaching from behind him…there were natives of Edrichrio.

Sensing that something big must be up, Vee concealed himself and quietly made some distance to avoid getting spotted even though the chances of that happening was small.

A few seconds after Vee had hidden himself, five people arrived. They were all clothed in robes that covered their appearances, clearly, these were not ordinary robes and were instead enchanted with magic. Vee could still easily probe through the protective mechanism of the robes but that would spoil the fun of everything, one thing he already knew was that these five people were members of the ministry as those robes were the signature attire for the high-ranking members of the ministry.

The ministry was an organization of evil mages in Edrichrio that had risen to power in recent years after Vee faked his death and caused trouble in each continent. They seemed to have an infinite number of members as well as powerful people in their ranks and were extremely difficult to deal with because not even Divine rank mages were able to completely wipe them out.

It appeared that they had been keeping a low profile all this time and only after the news of the death of the strongest mage in existence did they finally abandon all forms of caution and pretense, making their cult well-known and striking fear in the hearts of many. The ministry could really be said to be a giant amongst other forces in Edrichrio since even the continental army of each continent was unable to track them down much less deal with them.

Out of the five people, three rode on tamed magic beasts that were at the transformed magic beast rank which showed that the ranks of these people were not low as one had to be at least a mage king to be able to control a beast at the transformed magic beast rank. The other two were equipped with enchanted magic equipment that enabled them to fly this high.

The five of them stopped just below the creatures outside as the other party also stopped what they were doing upon the arrival of these five mages, separated by the protective barrier of the planet, both sides stared at each other for a few seconds before giving a subtle nod of greeting.

Seven of these creatures that were equal to Alpha rank mages stepped forward while the others retreated, the seven began to converse with the five mages in a language that even Vee was unable to understand despite hearing them clearly.

They conversed with each other for a while before one of the five mages suddenly brought out a device when they were about to leave, the device let out a mental energy ripple that spread out for two hundred meters before being kept away.
