"It is Stance.

Stance is the most basic knowledge but it is also the most important one. Stance builds up your foundation, your footwork, your hips work, your body movement and acts as a base for any attack or defense

There are thousands of sword stances. There are some basic stances that every swordsman should know about. There are swords stances specific to particular types of swords like, long sword or curved sword. There are Swords stances that are designed specially for particular fighting style.

For now, we would only be learning basic sword stance. They are:

1. Parry stance

2. Horse stance

3. Vertical slash stance

4. Horizontal slash stance

5. Diagonal slash stance

6. Hanging stance"

Lucifer demonstrated each of the stances with perfection. Axel tried to copy him but with many irregularities. Mastering even a single stance was not easy. Even a centimeter difference in footwork would be wrong.

Lucifer had said that Axel would pass the stance phase if He could sustain every stance for 2 hours.

Axel had not expected to get another quest. And the reward was 'Weapon II' He didn't know what that reward was, but he was excited about it.

The new quest was not easy. The first week, Lucifer had to continuously correct Axel on this body posture. The second week was also the same routine. However, The number of corrections has decreased by a lot. Axel could only withstand 15 minutes of each stance on the 3 rd week. However, it improved. From 15 minutes to 30 minutes. And from 30 minutes to 1 hour. It took Axel 3 months to complete the quest.

Lucifer was shocked again. It took years for normal people to master those stances. It was not only having the stamina to withstand every stance for 2 hours but also to have perfect footwork and body posture. Lucifer himself took 2 years to master it and he was a genius. However, Lucifer was not going to say it out loud.

3 months of hard work and Axel could finally see what this 'Weapon II' is all about. His right hand was holding the sword gifted by the system and he used his left hand to click on the reward.

As soon as he clicked the reward, a bright yellow glow covered his sword. Axel threw the sword at the ground by instinct. It was too sudden. The glow lasted for 30 seconds before he could examine the sword again.

Axel held the sword again. The sword seemed to be better than before, it seemed to have evolved. The difference was minute. Axel could only feel the difference as he had been holding it for 3 months.

The grip of the sword handle on his hand was tight. It seemed like the handle was just made for him and the grip felt better. No, it was perfect. The sharpness of the sword had also increased a bit. The sword seemed to be better than its previous version.

When Axel shared this discovery with Lucifer, he was also surprised. Lucifer had never come across a non-living object to evolve like this. The sword didn't even have a spirit. The system seemed to have unimaginable capabilities.

After some rest, the next part of the training was revealed by Lucifer.

"Now for the next sword move. It is only 1 move and that is 'Pierce'. But before you start to learn 'Pierce' , you should learn 'Stab'. So, what is the difference between, 'Pierce' and 'Stab'?

Basically, there is no difference. 'Pierce' is just an evolved version of 'Stab'. 'Stab' means to thrust your sword at someone, while 'Pierce' means to puncture a hole inside the opponents body. Though both of them looked the same, the footwork and hip movement are different. This is where your mastery of stance comes to play. Due to your solid foundation, you can now use more power as your base is stronger. This is how you do it. You would..."

The reward has improved again. Does this mean that until he reaches the sword's master realm, his sword would evolve into a divine weapon? There is a high chance that it would not as the reward that system is giving is from the storage that his mother had stored. However, it was exciting to imagine.

It took a month for Axel to complete the quest.

Lucifer then started to train Axel on Blocking techniques, Slashing techniques, counter techniques, figure of eight techniques and many more. Each of them came as a quest for Axel and the reward was the same. An improvement on his weapon. From Weapon IV to V to finally X.

The weapon became sharper and sharper. Its design started to resemble Axel's likeness and started to become more comfortable. When Axel completed his training and reached the Beginner realm, It reached Weapon X.

It evolved again, but this time, instead of a yellow glow, a green glow started to cover the sword. The glow was more potent than before. Instead of the normal 30 seconds, it took 1 minute for the glow to recede. And when it finally did, the sword had completely changed.

The iron sword had changed into a steel sword. It was shiny than before and the sunlight revealed its sharp edges. There were multiple carvings on the blade of the sword.

Axel was happy with this development. It took him a year to reach the Beginner realm. It was definitely the fastest reach Lucifer had ever seen and he genuinely appreciated Axel for his dedication.
