A New Beginning

[Omniscient POV]

Sinbad was quick to run into the school, as he was a little bit excited. He was a new student, and it was likely that nobody would try and mess with him, right?

" We have a new student, class. Everyone, settle down! " the teacher said, tapping his ruler onto the blackboard. Sinbad walked in, a little proud, but still scrawny looking.

" My name is Sinbad, and I hope I can get along with all of you! "

Sinbad bowed, towards the class, and a slight snicker came from the back of the classroom. He turned his head up to see who it was.

" This guy is too funny, acting like an old man! Who still bows, nowadays? "

The voice had came from a girl sitting at the back of the classroom. A pale girl, with light blonde hair, and dark green eyes. She had a cheeky grin to her face.

" Settle down, Arlette. Now, Sinbad. Would you like to tell us your ability? " the teacher continued.

" Ah..? My ability? I'm.. a late-bloomer! " he said, scratching his head with a nervous smile. The class sighed in boredom, hoping for him to have an interesting ability.

" Go sit next to the girl that was laughing at you, Sinbad. I'm tired of dealing with her, so you'll have to deal with her. "

Sinbad walked over to the desk, and that blonde haired girl looked at him, smiling.

" I'm Arlette, and I already know your name. Are you really a late-bloomer, or do you just have no ability? "

As soon as Sinbad sat down, she assaulted him with questions.

" Aah.. I'm a late-bloomer, I swear! " he was quick to answer that one question.

" Well, alright. That was a bad idea telling the class that, though. Benjamin will definitely come for you now. "

" Benjamin? Who's that? "

" Ah, he's the weaker twin. He loves terrorizing kids since he can't match up with his sister. But, don't worry. I'll protect you. "

" Ah, well... thanks. Why are you so nice to me... Arlette? "

" Well, you're a new student, and you're a `late-bloomer`, so it only seems right for me to become your first friend. "

" Okay, thanks, again. "

" It's nothing. Plus, I know a way that you can pay me back.. later on. "

Her demeanor had changed to a bit more sinister and concerning. Sinbad was obviously a little fearful, but he ignored it.

The class went by quickly, since it was mostly full of Arlette's silent nagging. He was already roaming the hallway. He was hopeful about the school's lunch.

It was the same as his previous school's lunch. He was glad it wasn't bad, though.

" So, where do you come from, Sinbad? Or, do I call you Bad? Sin? Those sound kind of evil, right? " Arlette began her questioning.

" Uh.. I'm from Avael. "

" Ah, my cousin goes over there. She's a bitch, though. I never really liked her. "

Wshp!

A body slid onto the table, unexpectedly. Sinbad was startled, but Arlette was unbothered, and continued talking.

The boy that inflicted the damage walked over towards the body, until he stopped walking towards the body.

" Ah, Sinbad? Is that you? You just got here, and you've already gotten a girlfriend. "

Sinbad turned his head. It was that black haired boy he saw under that bridge. Alberto.

" But out of all the girls, you chose Arlette? "

" Shut up, Alberto! I'm not his girlfriend, just keep on fighting, muscle-head!" Arlette whined, raising her fist at her.

" Whatever. Well, Sinbad, are you enjoying it so far? " Alberto asked.

" Well, I guess so. I haven't been hit once. "

" Don't worry, that'll change soon. Have fun! "

Alberto walked off, and Sinbad wondered what the threat had meant.

" Sinbad, you know Alberto? " Arlette asked, her head tilted.

" Ah, yeah. He's the reason why I came to this school. " Sinbad responded.

" Well, I guess I can thank him for one thing. You are one of the only people that listen to what I say. People say I'm chatty. "

Sinbad was weak to appreciation and compliments, so he only turned his head to the side to hide his smiling, red face.

" Ah, no problem! " Sinbad nodded.

" I'll be in the bathroom, stay here. " Arlette stood up from her seat to go to the bathroom, and Sinbad patiently waited. At least, that's what he attempted to do.

" Finally, that goon is gone. I was tired of her guarding the new student. "

Benjamin was right behind Sinbad, placing his hand on his shoulder.

" You're really friends with that bitch? Isn't she so irritating? She's always ruining my plans." Benjamin looked at Sinbad at he was sitting.

Sinbad stood off from instinct. Despite only knowing her for a day, it was the most kindness anyone had ever shown him, and it felt wrong to not defend her.

" You.. you shouldn't call a girl a bitch. You don't even really know her, and neither do I know you. "

Benjamin got irritated from the retaliation.

" What? What are you talking about, bastard? You really are her friend, huh? Well, that's a shame, I don't know your name, but you're affiliated with her, so I'll have to beat you up to get back at her."

He cracked his knuckles, and ice started to form on his arm. Without wasting much time, he threw a punch at Sinbad's gut. It landed, sending him back.

" If you had just said that you guys weren't friends, I would've let you off, dumbass. "

As soon as Sinbad started to fall down, he dashed at him, grabbing him before he touched the floor. A suplex came shortly after, and Sinbad landed on his head. If he wasn't trying his hardest to grip onto his consciousness, he surely would've been knocked out at that moment.

Sinbad was there, nearly unconscious. Benjamin lunged at him, elbow forward. He bashed at his chin, and it surely felt like something had broke. The blood from his face had flew everywhere, including Benjamin.

The only reason Benjamin had been so aggressive is because he had hated Arlette, but he was much weaker than her. This was the first time he could get back at her.

The beatdown seemed long, but it was only about 3 minutes. He stopped eventually getting bored, and there Sinbad was. Benjamin placed him on the table, and it looked like he was sleeping with his head down.
