QT: Nine Tales of the Nine - Tailed [BL]

"In a world where the impossible exists, there is a heart that aches, longing for the one he seeks." Nine lives, nine worlds. Nine hearts – eight shattered, one fulfilled. It all began when the legend that dwells in the depths of the Nanshan Mountains met a human named Xiang Yuze. The legend was revered as a god to believers, as a monster to his victims, or as a being created from just the imagination of the human mind. With his nine silver tails swaying on the edge of a cliff, beneath the bright full moon, casting a soft glow on his ethereal figure, he gazed down at the broken body underneath the precipice. A man he nurtured back to health, moved his beastly heart with his kindness, and taught him how to love. The same man who pierced that silver heart bestowed by the goddess and buried his memories in a void of darkness. With all his memories gone, will he be able to find the man who killed him and exact revenge? Or will his shattered heart, beat once more, for the same man, again and again? ---- [Excerpt] One fateful evening, when Xiang Yuze, a no-name cultivator, was night hunting a formidable creature that had been destroying the peace of his hometown closer to the Nanshan Mountains, he met an accident and fell off the cliff. Believing in the legend that dwells in the mountains, as the old folks in his town claim, Xiang Yuze desperately pleads to survive. The cold wind carried his wishes and in the eerie silence of the forest, his words were delivered and heard by the nine-tailed fox. The legend cared for the dying Xiang Yuze back to health, masking his form with wind, thus, Xiang Yuze had no idea what he was. Slowly, he regained his health and even learned some of the ancient cultivating techniques stored in the legend's abode, and he decided to go back home. The nine-tailed fox allowed him, but Xiang Yuze refused to say farewell without seeing him even just for one time. Fearing that the kind human would be afraid of his form, the nine-tailed fox mimicked the only human form he knew, thus, he transformed into a beautiful male human. ---- 1st Entry - 2nd Tail: Tale of Forgotten Memories [completed] [no mature content] 2nd Entry - 3rd Tail: Tale of the Immortal [on-going] [mature content] ---- Hello, you can send your powerstones, golden tickets, and gifts to support this book! Chapter 7: Lee Hyun [2]

Song Yujin frowned. Lee Hyun watched him like a hawk as if sending that he was up to no good if he ever glanced away. Begrudgingly, Song Yujin went inside and scanned the storage room.

The state of the room was dusty yet the things inside were kept organized. The rusty smell mixed permeated Song Yujin's nose. He coughed once and was grateful for the small window on the other side of the wall, giving light inside that dark space.

He immediately spotted a table and chair and quickly dragged them to the door. After putting the objects out of the light, he scrunched his face at the state of the table he took.

It was filled with doodles and very dusty. Song Yujin looked at the vice president who gave him a look that said, of all the options inside, you went with that?

He couldn't help but defend himself, "How the hell would I know it's like this? It's so dark inside!"

Raising his eyebrows slightly, Lee Hyun walked to the storage room. Standing by the door, he lifted his hand and flicked the switch next to the door jamb, brightening the whole room instantly. Then, he returned to his spot and stared at Song Yujin with those deep, light-colored eyes.

Song Yujin gazed at the man with awe. "You're more action, less speak, I see. Do you have, like…no offense, okay, but…do you have a speech disability? Or like, you don't want to speak a lot? What do you do if you are told to recite something? And doesn't speaking often make your breath smell bad? You should speak from time to time too! I'm a good conversationalist, so how about practicing with me? I can do it for free!"

Lee Hyun pointed his index finger at the door and commanded, leaving no room for complaints, "Shut up and move faster."

"But, hey, I'm trying to be friendly here…" Song Yujin's voice trailed off when the vice president just gave him icy glares before looking at his wristwatch. "Okay, I should apologize. I tricked you yesterday. But can't you just let me off the hook? And let us start anew, pretend like yesterday didn't happen!"

He stepped forward enthusiastically and extended his hand, "I'm Song Yujin. Nice meeting you, Lee Hyun!"

However, the earnest guy's hand was suspended in the air for a long time.

Lee Hyun's eyes merely moved from Song Yujin's hands to his ID, frowning infinitesimally. He looked away without saying anything, pursing his lips tightly as if displaying his aversion to engaging in even the slightest conversation with his new classmate.

Song Yujin stared at the guy a head taller than him. He was a bit annoyed for being ignored, so now, a tremendous urge to irritate the vice president was surging inside him. He pondered, what penalty would I receive if stretched those lips and moved them like a puppet?

From looking up at the vice president's lips, Song Yujin's gaze moved up to his eyes. He was left in awe noticing how long the guy's eyelashes were like it should be illegal to have those naturally curlier and longer than a girl has.

As Song Yujin's focus delved deeper into those light-colored eyes that resembled the glow of the setting sun, his thoughts raced at what those still, cold, enigmatic eyes would have been looking at.

Lee Hyun stared outside, beyond the glass walls, but his golden orbs looked distant and detached, as though a thousand films of scenes played in them, losing himself in an endless replay of something Song Yujin couldn't fathom, and making him forget where he was.

Those unblinking eyes turned to Song Yujin, expressing nothing but a desire to end that interaction and go back to the classroom, not an apprehension or weird look after being stared at that long.

Lee Hyun spoke, breaking the deafening silence between them, "If you don't hurry up, I'll drag you back to the disciplinary office. You're wasting time dilly-dallying while other students are studying."

Song Yujin blinked. He finally realized what he did. Embarrassment flashed his whole face, turning it to a bright tint of red. Thankfully, Lee Hyun didn't seem bothered by his stare, so Song Yujin quickly dashed inside the storage room and found a cleaner table.

He fanned himself when he was inside since his face felt hot from the blood rushing to his cheeks.

After composing himself, he stepped out, a newer table and a chair above it on his arms. He gave Lee Hyun a look asking for help, but the guy just went past him, locked the storage room, and then went up the stairs.

Ugh, couldn't he at least offer a helping hand? Not that these things are heavy though, but it's basic manners to offer help to someone carrying a lot! Song Yujin grumbled. He climbed up the stairs slowly.

He thought that the guy had already gone ahead, but he was surprised to see him on the other end, leaning on the wall with his arms crossed.

Song Yujin beamed, "Oh, I thought you won't help me! Here, you can take the chair, it isn't heavy anyway! But I still can't see the path, so you're a big help!"

He sighed in relief when Lee Hyun stretched his hands, but they evaded touching the dusty, wooden chair instead and went straight on the lanyard.

Lee Hyun swiftly unhinged the ID card from the strap and walked downstairs, leaving haunting words, "Claim this on the disciplinary office once school ends."

Song Yujin was horrified. He spun around, forgetting that he had just taken the last step on the stairs, and with the things on his arms, the center of gravity shifted forward and he lost balance.

"Watch out!" Song Yujin shouted. Worried that the vice president would be hit by the table and chair, instead of letting them go, Song Yujin held them tightly and gave time for Lee Hyun to dodge.

But his fear vanished when strong and long arms wrapped around his waist, pinning him down on his place while the objects he carried were supported by Lee Hyun, blocking its fall.

Song Yujin gasped. The table and chair were snatched from him by Lee Hyun and put them down on the floor.

"Are you okay?" An unfamiliar voice entered Song Yujin's ears. Before he could look back, his body hanging on the stairs was easily lifted like a doll and safely brought down next to the table.

Distraught and weakened by the adrenaline rush, Song Yujin saw another student standing before him. Next to him was Lee Hyun, giving him a stern look of reprimand. Somehow, Song Yujin was annoyed, and his expression might have been too visible that the other student turned to Lee Hyun and spoke.

"Hyun-ah, don't admonish him. He even shouted for you to look out and hold these things tighter so he won't hurt you," the student remarked, turning to Song Yujin with an apologetic smile. His face looked kind and the aura he exudes is friendly and light, which helped Song Yujin to calm down. "Are you alright, junior?"

Song Yujin nodded. His eyes darted on the student's ID. And his mind raced, Lee Hoon…Lee Hyun? Are they related? He speaks sweetly toward that robotic bastard…oh…

Song Yujin cleared his throat and answered, "Yeah, I'm fine. Thank you." He hid the nervousness in his voice. Now he remembered what Kim Hajin told him before!

The vice president's older brother is the Student Council's President!

Song Yujin swallowed hard. The air between the two was completely opposite. One was as cold as the Arctic region, while the other one was like a ray of sunlight spreading warmth in the whole surroundings with his kind and approachable smile.

He gave Lee Hyun with a pleading look, silently hoping that the guy wouldn't turn him over.

However, the unsuspecting, unbothered, unconcerned, Lee Hyun didn't even try to understand his drooping and glossy eyes and went ahead to show his older brother his ID.

Speaking nonchalantly, Lee Hyun asked, "Hyung, can you take this to the disciplinary office? We wasted too much time already. We have to go back to class."

Lee Hoon took the ID without reading the name, "Sure, I'll submit it on lunch break. I'll go ahead then. Be careful next time." He patted Song Yujin's arm before walking upstairs.

The classrooms for the third years are on the third floor, while the second years occupy the second, and so the first years to the first floor. The disciplinary office is located on the second floor of another building, which was why Lee Hoon didn't head straight there.

This gave Song Yujin an idea, I'll get it back before he turns it over to the D.O.!

He looked ahead and grabbed his table, but he halted after not seeing the chair. Looking up, Lee Hyun was already meters away from him, and his chair was carried by him.
